Generate more by making sure laws for Chicago like a new tax on Cannabis those funds specifically go to rebuilding neighbors. Easy, van rebuilds roads, weatherize the grid for Chicago, create new diverse overnight of cannabis, a wave of new jobs, build supermarkets and shopping centers for Chicago suburbs and build with parks and leisure in mind for neighborhoods. Build youth centers and recration centers. With these new taxes that will generate. Create a whole new ecosystem of tourist activity for Chicago.
Where do all the taxes for alcohol go that the state collects, what is the budget for the City of Chicago.
Hmm, but first have to abolish this lottery system for licensing. These types of lists and exclusion to create a business sounds unconstitutional hmm....

Cocaine is used in the medical industry. Morphine literally *Is* a variation of Meth. The difference is the medical industry is highly regulated and quality assured. You do not know what people are putting in in unregulated product to increase profits.
Weed is not illegal. It was the tendency to distribute and sell unregulated that made it an issue. Most states have cleared up the bureaucracy. However its ironic that the reason there even is an opioid pandemic to begin with is because of the CIA and MKUltra. That program is why 90% of the illegal substances that are illegal were created

But it is best to weigh the pros and cons. THC does cause those symptoms but lets take into consideration that this drug can change a lot of lives for the better aswell. Cigarrete smokers will be smoking stuff that is less if not harmful at all. If we legalize cannabis, this industry will flourish and the cons will be perfected and fixed. I wonder if car wash companies also sell drugs that could potentially lead into chaos as marijuana impairs judgment, motor coordination and reaction time, causing accidents?
Lottery isn't a good way, but they had to somehow restrict the overwhelming requests as granting everyone the right to sell marijuana would cause more access for people and thus harder to track said marijuana user back to the store owner. It's not that easy. It has to be a slow process, but not a lottery. But I guess this is more of a way for the government to say "Hey guys, we don't take favourites. It's all luck deciding, not who you are, what color you have or where you come from" as nowadays everything is called racism or sexism if it doesn't go your way and the only thing you're capable of is saying that you were mishandled because of your origin.

You’re not doing the people a favor you’re doing your job if you can’t do your job then you’re fired. We’ll find someone who can do the job. These politicians act like they’re doing the citizens a favor, no you’re there because you work for the people. In any other job you get fired for not doing your job, but in politics you move up.

Right? Nothing else is getting regulated like this. If there's a demand for it, why not let them open another one? 🤷‍♀️ No one has ever been like "oh man, we have too many restaurants within a given radius. Guess we can't let them open another one even if there's room and demand for one".

    • @brooksbergeron7004

Wait too many shops is a failing industry. The banks making the loans for starting the shop shops in multiples greater than demand can supply? Its not a viable business with loans in a new industry for some unaware of financial consequences. Oregon didn't regulate growers. What happened. Pound prices dropped to 100 a pound. One Hundred A pound. You know how long it takes to grow a pound. How much energy it takes from human and the grid labor to grow this. It has leveled out now but in the beginning without regulation it was not beneficial. Kind of counter intuitive.

Hope the full ep focuses on other insane issues with IL’s legalization. Like how since cops still want to be able to search cars if they smell weed, the onus is on the citizen to drive home from the dispo with the weed in a smell-proof container. However, you cannot open your containers and transfer your bud to a different container anywhere during the process of taking them home, and no brand offers smellproof containers.
Additionally, instead of getting a simple ticket like you would when weed was decriminalized........you could be charged with a class-A misdemeanor. So if cops decide they want to say they smell weed, they can, penalty-free. And if you’re caught with it in your trunk, you’re fucked.
Also only med patients are allowed to grow, and we can only have five plants maximum. This was because of lobbying from companies like Cresco (they also do High Supply) and Green Thumb Industries (Rhythm, Dogwalkers).
Speaking of Cresco, both they and Verano are constantly under fire for subpar product. Mold, bugs, bud that smells really off-and generally you’re just getting mids. Med price for those brands? $60 an eighth. _Everything_ is $60 or over for an eighth, and that’s just med prices. Rec prices are higher, with 30% tax.
Aaaaaand! They’re only giving out rec dispo licenses. If you want to open a med-only, or med-and-rec dispo, you’re SOL. Also the medical program site has been down for about a month now, and patients have been unable to switch their med dispo. They finally ruled that medical patients can show our cards at any med dispo and get med prices, but I have no doubt that once that site’s back online, we’re gonna be forced back into waiting days to change which dispensary we’d like to go to.
Anyway, it’s a fucking mess out here.
