The Autobahn is sick!!! Traveling at speeds about 120 mph! And the border guards were shutdown due to the Berlin Wall destruction. I was present at that incredible event back in 1989.
The border NL/Germany wasn't shut down until the Schengen agreement took effect, in 1995. Nothing to do with the fall of the wall, that was the old inner German border, nowhere near the Netherlands. I was stationed in the British Army in Germany 1991-93 and you always had to stop at the border then. However once in 1992 I walked through a residential street straddling the border, in an Aachen suburb, the street bypassed the border cabin on the main road. There were other little backroads where there wasn't a permanent checkpoint too but there were Zoll (customs) patrols there.

this reminds me of the first time visting amsterdam as a teenager, walking by cops in the street smoking joints and the police not even taking notice as they pass is a shock to the system, especially after having so much taken from me by the law back home, really drives how how ridiculous weed being illegal is
I was born and raised in Belgium, the country next to the Netherlands, and worked with Dutch coffeeshops as a supplier (illegally). The whole "gedoogd" system they've got going doesn't do anything but invite criminality into a business that could otherwise be fully taxed and legislated. One of the guys I worked with had a grenade thrown into his coffeeshop because he wouldn't bend under the will of criminal gangs trying to muscle in. Legalise ALL drugs, let the government do what they love and profit off it, and GET PEOPLE THE HELP THEY FUCKING NEED. Nobody would be strung out on H/coke if they had a good quality of life.
Yes you can solve almost all the problems caused by heroin by simply giving addicts free heroin. Just make it a prescription only drug like Oxy and anyone addicted doesn't have to cause problems for everyone else.
@@Sid-gj8xd you can find them 50/50 of the time, if you type coffeeshop into Google maps haha. But generally you wouldn't have to look for one reeeeallly... You just walk one direction for 10 minutes, and you'll find one no doubt!

@@MrBobbo18the consumer can always take the time to meet and establish relationships with growers. If you want good quality, clean products, there are other options aside from just paying the government to "help".
@@MrBobbo18 a system built on trust between local people will always get you better quality, organic, unsprayed flower. Knowing the guy who grows it and buying it from him is better than buying it from a corporation that has no personal liability if you die smoking their products. Regulation are meant to keep buds safe to smoke, yet the current market in california has hundreds of banned chemicals being found in massive quantities in their on the shelf "legal" products. Licenses only mean that a few companies can afford to grow. and when they reap the benefits of monopoly then they can simply pay off the fines for the damages theyve caused. Look at johnson and johnson and other large companies that have hurt the population in the past and all they had to do was pay a fine to the govt. which is no punishment at all for huge business. The only way to get organic products is to either grow them yourself organically, or to be the client of a good organic grower that doesnt use shortcuts, pesticides, or any hormones to thicken things up.
@@MrBobbo18synthetic fertilizer doesn't instantly make a bad product. Just like much of the food we eat is grown using synthetic fertilizer. The sincerity of the man who owns the hydroponics store and says “at the end of the day, this promotion is so I can make money.” I admire that a lot! Well done and hope your business booms.
I thought it was funny that the host is like oh isn’t this such a great scene of humans helping each other and the dude shut that shitte down like nah I don’t want to be giving away anything but this ends up being a marketing expense instead of something I could be charging $30-40 bucks per pack of seeds. I do appreciate the honesty when he could’ve just leaned into what the interviewer is saying like it’s some altruistic peace and love thing.
Considering this is so old how about tack on an update or follow up, confused of the purpose of Vice anymore, is it just the greatest hits of old news?
They've been has beens for 5-8 years.
Vice went bankrupt. People claimed to love them , but nobody would purchase a subscription from them and TH-cam demonetized them .
They are out of money so they can’t afford digital ink.
A update regarding the policy on weed here in the Netherlands, the government right now is doing tests for regulated weed.
Just trying to make you tube money from old video

this reminds me of the first time visting amsterdam as a teenager, walking by cops in the street smoking joints and the police not even taking notice as they pass is a shock to the system, especially after having so much taken from me by the law back home, really drives how how ridiculous weed being illegal is

Growing your own is one of the best thing in the world.
Nobody would be strung out on H/coke if they had a good quality of life.
preach this
I'm Dutch and fully agree. They really got the worst of both worlds with this system.
Yes you can solve almost all the problems caused by heroin by simply giving addicts free heroin. Just make it a prescription only drug like Oxy and anyone addicted doesn't have to cause problems for everyone else.

fun fact, there is about 300+ coffeeshops in the all of ( our beautiful city ) Amsterdam!
Can you find the coffee shops on maps or is it just by word of mouth?
@@Sid-gj8xd you can find them 50/50 of the time, if you type coffeeshop into Google maps haha.
But generally you wouldn't have to look for one reeeeallly... You just walk one direction for 10 minutes, and you'll find one no doubt!
I live in Texas. My friend was parked with his girlfriend, but they were NOT smoking. They were eating their fast food supper at night with the windows rolled down. They had weed in the car and out of sight, but it was NOT in the dashboard, so NO search warrant required. A cop pulled up and got into their business. The cop asked, "Do you have any substances or illegal drugs on you?" My friend answered, "Yes." He was SCARED TO LIE TO A COP. The cop immediately ARRESTED them both and they went to JAIL for the night. 🐖🐷🐽🚨🪴🚬His family hired a good defense lawyer and he got off for a 1st time offense. Now he's learned to vape 💨 at home. Correction... It's not freedom... It's licence...
Bingo
Licenses are a path to safe tested products. Unregulated markets will allow possible mold covered synthetically fertilized buds.
While I prefer going organic whenever possibly in most cases the plant doesn't know the difference. Hydroponic growing is popular everywhere and it's almost always using synthetic.
