    Covering it with paper really helped! I have the Cricut maker 3 and I wasted so much sticker paper trying to get the right cuts. I rarely have any errors now thanks to you. I make wine labels and I laminate my entire page using my laminator machine and I put matte tape on the black lines and tape the paper to the machine and I get a perfect cut every time now! I stopped using my machine because of those issues but something told me not to throw in the towel just yet and I came across your video! My machine went from working 50 % of the time to 99% of the time! Thank you so much!🙂

    Thank you so much for sharing this! Loved the video: easy to follow, no extra fluff, not too fast so I have to pause the video a bunch... so clear and helpful! I'm struggling with the Cricut not cutting where it's supposed to (its like the whole cut is shifted diagonally over) so I'm going to try your cover method to see if that helps :D Glad I found your channel

    Wow, I needed this refresher! I have not designed anything that was meant for cutting since... well I am old. In any case, this was an amazing refresher video and I am certain a great video for those getting into the craft. There are many things I had forgotten because I was designing for a different sort of process and my brain kind of turned off when it came to designing stickers and cuts and the whole thing. You hit everything from start to finish, and helped me resolve an issue I had been having.
    I tell you this much, and this kinda upset me about it, but we had bought a pack of Cricut Sticker Paper, and I lost two of them until I found out that they were not cut straight.. Oye that was a mess! My cuts were offset by about 1/6 of an inch and I was frustrated out of my mind. Once I did get them trimmed, I went to refresh myself on the right way to do things and you did a perfect job! I usually design in Adobe Illustrator and move to PS for various things like this. Having designed just for vinyl cuts, you really helped me get back into making stickers /properly/ now that we have a Cricut.
    Thank you, and do indeed make more videos! :)
    -Kim

    What a process! I definitely will have to try this out. I stopped making sticker sheets because I could never get the Cricut to cut properly. I can’t even get the die cuts to work half of the time.
    I’ve even recently tried to do the cut option where you trick the Cricut to cut a whole page but my printer/program won’t center the images on the page so the file is the same when cut. I can’t say I fully love my Cricut at the moment lol.

    Great video! I wouldn't have thought of adding even more white space between the border and the background, but it's actually quite logical! Though instead of copying and pasting the stroke effect on each sticker layer, it might be faster to just add the effect to a folder containing all the sticker layers

    This is an excellent video, so thorough and thoughtfully executed. I'm very new to the cricut, I have the Maker 3. At one time I could find my way around technology in a flash but now (maybe because I don't tinker with technology often enough, or because I'm getting a bit older) I'm having trouble trying to cut a home made, trial version of a sticker sheet out and all the info is going over my head! I'm using Picmonkey to design my stickers and they look good but cutting them out on cricut is leaving me dumbfounded, and the sizing doesn't help! Anyway, I'm rambling now! Oh my gosh, thanks so much! Comments like that make my day! For illustrator, if you're trying to add the stroke, it's actually in the "color" palette. You've got your fill color and your stroke color there in the two overlapping boxes on the left. If it's another effect you're looking for, there's an "effect" menu at the top of the program, and if you go to the submenu "stylize" you can add other effects like blurs, drop shadows, etc. Does that help?

      Sure you can! Just make sure to also fill the background bleed area with that same color. :)

    Why do you need to convert to a smart object if you're scaling down? I only do that when I scale up to not lose resolution

      I convert it while I'm figuring out the layout, in case I change my mind about the size of the sticker :)

      Aw sorry about that! I haven't used their paper but I'd definitely recommend making a custom cut setting where you can play around with the pressure. Good luck!

    How do you get it to go around the background cut-out TWICE?

      Hi Rob! I talk about that in the video during the custom materials setup section (in the die cut setting part). Here's the link to that: th-cam.com/video/-EzF73kdoro/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps! :)

    When I tried this, it cut the bar and logo out of my background instead of going around the outside. In other words, it treated the designs on the background as stickers. Help!

    • @pixiestyx
      @pixiestyx  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lori! It sounds like maybe your background wasn't all one layer? Everything in your background should be uploaded as one solid PNG, and the stickers themselves as another PNG for the sticker cut part. If you need further help, feel free to send me a message on my instagram at pixiestyxofficial :)

  • @MnstrMthd

    I'm having a really rough time with the cut portion of this. When I attach my stickers, cricut automatically crops off the empty space, making it not actually aligned or sized correctly. I can position it manually, but then the cut marks don't match up to the pre-printed sheets, and the cricut can't find them :(
    I have no idea how to fix this!

    • @MnstrMthd
      @MnstrMthd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For now I found doing a rectangle set to draw only, but not having a pen inserted seemed to help the issue. No idea if there's a more elegant workaround, but oh well lol

      @@MnstrMthd In the video, during the file setup portion, I show how to add a few white pixels to two of the corners of the file, so that when you upload it to design space, those markers tell Cricut to keep that extra white space. Here's the link to that part of the video: th-cam.com/video/-EzF73kdoro/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps!

    I'm a bit confused ..2 x 4x6" sheets would be larger than a US letter which is 8.5x11"..so why do you choose those dimensions for your stickersheets?
