One of neatest things about your channel is learning complexity used in building scrapers & other industrial machines. Watching repairs is just as good to watch, keep up great work, thanks!!!
I've done weld and fab for over 40 years. I could have done that, but I would have been a nervous wreck. Amazing work as always, and one hell of a service truck also. Always good to see you when I get home from the ammo plant after midnight. Keep em coming Brother. Be safe! Thomas, Mississippi!!
It is amazing the levels of repair you achieve to bring good equipment back to life. As I've told you before I worked at the Decatur, IL plant where parts of the tractor scrapers are built. Many of the scraper bowls come from a plant in South America, actually Brazil. CAT has had a strong presence in Brazil back into the 60's and 70's. I'm looking forward to the videos to come. The complexity of this rebuild is over the top!!!!!!! Go Big Daddy!!!
It's easy to see why you retain your clients, knowledgeable, capable and professional service is not that easy to find. Always enjoy watching you work =)
Good video. One thing I will say is that giving your guys compliments goes a long way in enforcing a good work ethic. It's great that you do that in the open on youtube.
Greg, You guys impress me each and every time!! Your approach is spot on, and the way I would absolutely want my machine done!! Better than new!! Thanks, Vic!!
I like the videos you do in the field best, and your explanations of how the machines work and how the parts fit together. I find them educational and enjoyable.
Holey moley Greg! That is some heavy duty repair/rebuild work. Looking forward to the next in sequence videos. Glad you showed all the plasma work you did!
Your videos just keep getting better and boy, do you get some marathon field jobs! Like the farmers out east used to say; "make hay while the sun shines" - money in the bank, baby!
So, an entire ear broke off at the root of that "plate"... That must have taken some serious stress! I do notice you fix a lot of cracks and such on earth movers. I guess like most engineering, there are tradeoffs... Makes me wonder about ore trucks used in mining. They have to be stressed as much as an earth mover.. Love watching your channel! Thanks for doing these videos...
A series, NICE! Rebuilding/retooling a machine this size outside on an empty lot, on a hot summer Cali. day, is impressive as hell! That first cold beer is going to be GOOD!
As usual, impressive work. Can't wait for the next parts. I'm curios what that part would cost, and do you get the measurements from factory manuals or prints or from the broken piece. Always amazed at your work.
Amazing how you can cut those scrapers to bits and weld um up like brand new again.. Awesome work. I wonder if you've ever done work for the Mellons down in San Berdo at all?
Hi Greg, thanks for your Videos. I hope for a 1o part Series!!!! of that extensive re-build. Welding inside the transmission Housing must have been a job in hell. Luckyly your new Crewmember seems to be a bit "undersize" so he fits in there nicely: No offense! Greetings from Germany Manni the CAT Man. P.S. Get Jacob new pants. He is no credit to himself or your Company runnig around like that. Even the colour of his undershorts is no longer a secret. With all the weekend Jobs he is doing with you in the Apple Valley he should easy buy himself a new pair of workpants.
Hi been watching and just wondering what size plasma you have to cut some of the materials you do with the thickness. Knowing a 80 amp does about 3/4 inch 19mm using 3 phase 415v
I have noticed in many of your videos that you extensively use a Miller Multimatic 220 running what I assume to be a 0.035 or 0.045 Dual Shield wire. Do you ever run into the Duty Cycle or Thermal Limits of the welder? Also what kind of shield gas/flow rate do you use? Love the content!
I use my 220 a lot but only run .035 solid wire through it. For dual shield I run the arcreach 12. Never trip any duty cycles. I run 30-50 cfh with 75% argon 25% co2
When you get finished with this machine I’ll ask about how many hours you billed for it. Do you ever use a cutting torch anymore, Or just the plasma cutter ???

"I always do all three holes" 😂 THAT'S how you keep a spouse happy!
That's what she said.
Heeyy Yoo!

I thought the same but you had the courage to write it 😄👍

I am always amazed at how everything gets cut apart and then welded back together with ease!
Some guys restore cars, you restore Mega Machines... Great job.
Diversity of sizes of men ftw💪💪💪
Major Respect to you for that job !!!! You made it look easy.......but that was some hard work.....Love your videos.
This is going to be a great series and a ton of work. Looking forward to the other parts.
Those graders sure are keeping you busy!! Nice work as always.

You do work work on some huge equipment. I worked on big quarry machinery, nothing that size though . 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇬🇧
I know you guys do a bang up job all the time Greg, but damn,I’m impressed on how clean the inside of that was
What an absolute beast of a job. Exciting!
You can always overdub the narration later you know. It's just another track in the editing software.
That's a big job ! But I have no doubts that you and your crew is up for the challenge and will conquer this !
I look forward to an education from you every episode! Thanks for bringing us along on you job!
Always try to watch your videos when you first up post it trying to get immune to third shift
11:20 I agree! Always do all three holes... 😂😂😂
It’s amazing how much of a beating those scrapers take.
An epic job deserves an epic video series. Top quality work on a beast of a machine, nothing lightweight about this job.
Top bit of work, close to the best work that is on youtube. Very Good from UK

*On Fire Welding* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
You could make an emergency phone stand out of welding wire and welding rods. 😊
Big job! Going hard at it with the three of you, should get it knocked over quick enough!
For the right price, everyone is a painter👍 nice work
Big undertaking but the right person for the job.
Nasty!! Time for a bigger shop, and 4 more swamp coolers
Awesome work Greg ,huge fan of your work ethic
That earth moving equipment is awesome. Seeing it up close being repaired is fascinating. Great filming . Thanks
Big machines, big jobs, done professionally without complaints. Thanks for another great video. Looking forward to things to come.

All construction machinery seems to be constantly destroying itself. It's a matter of catching it in time.
Check out CEE-Australia for mining truck repairs. 😊
Very well edited! Really looking forward to all of the installments. Great job all around Greg!
Wow what a job. Lot of work.
Great video!!

It’s like a total reman. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
Wow! What a behemoth!
Tremendous amount of work. Thanks for sharing 👍
Love watching all your videos
Never seen a scraper apart like that! cool video!
Thanks for sharing another great and enjoyable video.
Very interesting. You do jobs that I would never dream possible, and make it look easier than it is.
Kind of an understatement I know, but this is and will be, a helluva job, not to mention great video entertainment and 'educational' too.
yes, yes, yes and yes, more parts
What a hell of a job.
Wow. You guys are really getting after it. Congrats, and well done.
Great video series on this scraper 🦘
Great job, thank you for sharing, always a pleasure follow your project , i learn a lot 👍👍👍👍
You're a guy with an impressive skill set! Excellent job completed once again.
Amazing! Fantastic work! Thank you for sharing. I would have thought that would have been sent to auction.
Happy Friday Greg, always something great coming from On Fire Welding.......cheers from Florida, Paul
Tremendo trabajo amigo🎉, espero con ansias ver la 2da parte. Saludos desde 🇨🇱
Muito bom trabalho amigos!!!
Boa sorte sempre!!!
Great video. Huge man hours in the refit there. But cheaper to refit than buy new. Looking forward for part 2 and 3.
I usually just stick to 2 of them at a time 😂😂 Awesome video 👌🏻🤘🏼🤘🏼
...I ALWAYS do all three holes...
🎉😂😂 that's what she said 😂😂🎉
wow, cat has really gone cheap on bowl sides now, I can see where they save material and assembly labor but at a huge cost to the owner
I agree. They engineer it to work, but not last.
Says the guy that spends more time trying to get the old equipment to do anything other than pull another 5k out of the bank.
Curtis at CEE has a nice rosebud torch wand for preheating large stuff
Morning, Jug of Ice water on ,,lol ,,here we go ,! Cheers!;-)!
Stay cool drink lots of Gatorade it's a heat wave
Nothing scares Greg !
Looks like a factory rebuild facility!
All three holes…EVERY time 😉
Its amazing you can spend a few hundred thousand rebuilding a scraper because they are so expensive new
Snap on thermal camera ONLY $9999.99
Looks like a job for JB weld
If there's one thing I've learned from JustRolledIn, it's that spray foam is the new duct tape.
@@Cancun771 combine the two and it’ll hold anything

Yeah for spray foam, how did we survive before spray foam.
Acid etching works well for finding plug welds grand pops old trick

I would guess about $5,000 for the part. I get the measurements from CAT. But they are hard to get.
Amazing how you can cut those scrapers to bits and weld um up like brand new again.. Awesome work.
I wonder if you've ever done work for the Mellons down in San Berdo at all?
I have not.
I got one
What do you use a cutting torch for anymore

@@OFW What you don't like "Golf" pants? They had 18 Holes.🍻
"I always do all 3 holes"
part 1 check !
It's funny you mentioned 'don't buy this brand', because I was looking at it, thinking, this must be a good brand, if you're using it🤪
🇺🇸👍🙂
It would be interesting to know how many man hours you have in your jobs
Hi been watching and just wondering what size plasma you have to cut some of the materials you do with the thickness. Knowing a 80 amp does about 3/4 inch 19mm using 3 phase 415v
Hypertherm powermax 105. I have sever cut 3” with it. A 85 should cut 1.5”
Is this the one you got lucky and got all three holes bored in one shot? I been waiting for this to post
Yes. The line boring video should be out next Friday too.
Love the content!

you should tell prices. Im wondering what that new part cost.. 5000$?
When you get finished with this machine I’ll ask about how many hours you billed for it.
Do you ever use a cutting torch anymore, Or just the plasma cutter ???
I use a torch to heat up stuff. Not really cutting.
Why did you get rid of the bore repair set up? I’ve been using that one for awhile and haven’t had any issues
They didn’t offer the options I wanted.
Where you doing the whole job ? Or just the part you replaced.
We are doing all the welding related work. The customer took the machine apart.
What do you call this? Restoration, Overhaul, Deposit level rebuild, ???
A little bit of everything. Rebuild and restore.
I wonder where the line goes in cost before it's not worth repairing these scrapers.
@@frank-t6857
You can do a lot of repairs for 750,000$$$
