    I nearly cried on this one. This is one song i had a deep conection with. I had depression like some months ago like 6 months and it was really hard to express my feeling even to myself and especially to others but this song made the impossible possible. Everytime i heard this song i went to my couch, hid below it and started crying not just tears but whole waterfalls of water went out of my eyes. This was the was i handled my depression. And it helped, my situation still got worse but without this song it may have been unstopable. This song hits this right deep into my heart because this combination of this nostalgic feeling with the combination of the instruments just was a wonder for me. Nowadays i have won the fight against my depression, found out a way of handling my problems and just dont cry because of my problems i have and how my live is shitty as f*ck when i hear this song but crying because remembering of this time I played this game and the sad situation accured at the end of the cutscene. What i want to say, dear reader who reads this. Don’t run from your problems, fight against them and find a way to know how to handle those. You will find a way out of your depressed circumstances and then enjoy your life as I do. Cheers

      I cried for the whole 30 minutes.
      I came to look at the comments, and I came on yours.
      When you said you won against depression, I cried even harder than while I was listening to the song.
      Thanks you for bringing me hope. I Hope one day I'll come black gère, and I'll be able to listen to this song like you do now.

      Basically your character is in the process of fading from existence cuz you just altered the course of history upon beating the game, and is saying goodbye to your partner/friend. Pretty hard to watch if you’re not used to how Mystery Dungeon endings work

    When I listen to this, I initially thought about the ending I had planned to a story I was working on while playing a game, but after an incident happened within the community that made me leave, I got rid of the story, so now I think about the other major characters to Cell, the only character that still exists after I got rid of the story, because everything he once knew (essentially where the story took place) is gone... His friends, family, home, all gone... All the adventures he had with his friends, all the times his father hugged him, just a memory now... After finding out about what happened, he shut himself off from the rest of the world due to his inability to accept that everything he knew is gone... But during that night, in his dream, a Pokemon that looked like him, but monochrome, appeared, and he first entered the dream world, where everyone and everything was still there, that was 4 years ago in the new story... NUCLEUS...

    Pokémon did worse and worse after this… they brought some of the feels back in gen 5, but the emotional plots never came back… 😭

    • @aggroknight4259
      @aggroknight4259 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's because the main games aren't very emotional and this was a spinoff. There was a newer PMD game called Super Mystery Dungeon that came out years ago. Main games did only get worse though.

    • @the_mars_bar
      @the_mars_bar 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Who knows? With Pokémon Day coming up in 2-3 months, we could see a potential announcement for another PMD game. It could be a new entry in the series including Gens 7-9, or a remake for Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky. It’s probably unlikely, but seeing as how the last new game (excluding Rescue Team DX, as it was a remake and not another entry in the series) was in 2015, it’s not entirely impossible. Chances are, Chunsoft & Nintendo will continue the PMD series, since overall, it’s been pretty successful… Plus, it’s a good opportunity to bring back the fanbase as the mainline games have slowly gotten worse… (Gen 9 gave me some kind of hope for the mainline games… but it’s gonna be hard for the mainline games to make a comeback still…)

    This game occupies such a weird place in my heart. I'm 21 and played it for the first time when I was 6 or 7. It was too much for me as a kid. Its characters, its music, and its story were overwhelming. The personality quiz, the relationship with the partner pokemon, the fated death of the protagonist--the amount of emotion poured into this game was beyond anything I had ever experienced. I remember caring so intimately about each bit of dialogue, despairing with each victory of the antagonists, and crying with each emotional cutscene. It was overwhelmingly meaningful to me as a child.
    I unfortunately can't replay this game. I've tried, I get too bored. My attention span is too short and my to-do list is too long. The personality quiz will never mean what it meant to me in 2008. Back then it was a matter of self-discovery. Now I know it as a simple algorithm composed over 15 years ago. I can't appreciate this game like I did when I was a kid. That's simply beyond the purview of possibility to a college senior. The only way I can reconnect with it is through its music.
    I associate this game with my earliest memories, my earliest sense of self-knowledge, and my earliest grappling with the concepts of memory, friendship, and death. Maybe I'm ascribing too much importance to it. But these songs, these simple compositions of 8-bit tones, pierce so deeply into me that I need to try and articulate my feelings about them. Something about this game touches me spiritually. It dances so elegantly between sophisticated philosophical themes and childishly simple dialogue and gameplay. I understand both my childhood and current life partially in reference to memories of it. I wish I could return to 2008 and replay it for the first time as a kid again. I'd give anything for that opportunity. But I can't. So I'm left with these 8-bit compositions that only gesture at the richness I once experienced. It's easy to feel silly for getting this emotional about video game, but 21st century people associate childhood with trivial things like DS games. It's normal for us, if we are admittedly the first generation to associate them with our earliest memories.
    I wonder if they'll ever remake these. I hope they do.
