What truly hit hardest about this is that this is the first time you actually talk. Sure, you think. You think a lot, and occasionally give nods, or explain stuff without actual dialogue, but here, you go into a full-on monologue on how much you enjoyed your time with your partner, moments away from being erased from the universe itself while your best pal watches on in complete disbelief. And that, my friend, is damned poetry right there.

I became very biased towards Grovyle after playing this game for the first time.
I just realised that if we get a remake of this game we will probably have a full cutscene of our partner breaking down as we basically die in front of him/her...

MissionApollo7 Frankly it’s a big part of what makes this game so special. In order to give agency, games usually wrap the narrative around the player character... PMD Explorers did such a good job subverting that expectation.

Hot Dog, you were such a good Arcanine, who put so much effort into every flamethrower you used, to make the three hours Alpha spent in the game corner worth it.
Fyrus, you were brave enough to sacrifice yourself when it mattered most.
Yoshi, you tried your best to defend all your friends when the odds were nothing but against you.
Transformr, Coughing, Spy Kids 3, Mewtwo, Mannnkkkee, Phoenix, Donkey Kong, Clam Slam, and anyone else I may have forgotten you all did so well and were so brave. But in the end you either succumbed to Alakazam, some other formidable foe, or sacrificed yourselves to protect all your friends. We won't forget what you did for the greater good.

Regular Attacks did only 5 DMG and mega Evolution felt Not good. Still better than Portals to Infinity tough. But we dont want to Talk about Portals to Infinity
@@Mr.Nahe.Dortmund i never said the gameplay was good, I can't stand how it plays. It is inferior to Explorers in every possible way except the move management/upgrade system. The story however is on par with every other Mystery Dungeon game.

I know he didn't want this to be public, but this is not just a remix for many people. For a lot of people it was what made our childhood. It is for some people used to grieve and to remember, or to hope and move on.
This needs to be remembered.

It's been 10 years. So much has happened in that long time. I lost family members, a best friend, and a significant other. When I first heard the song, I was 14 years old. I'm now 24, and this song still holds all of the emotions as it did in the past, if not more. I still go back and play this game, just for the nostalgia, and I still cry when my partner breaks down on the beach. Even after 10 years or life, emotions never change. Especially with music.

Same. My best friend died on cancer. I heard this song 3 days after her death and I were 11. Then I understood that playing this game with her was the story itself. Its about your best friend. I guess that Dialga gives your loses back but in other forms u think, like other persons or friends. I dont ever forget them
I played this after i heard my dog left me (died) and didn’t get to say good bye. He was my brother, we were raised with the Rottweiler being the older one. After he perished, during 0:30 basically i wanted to follow. Then i was like don’t ever forget and that’s when the feels got the best of me. To this day i still want be reunited with him, and also vanish. but when i hear this song i want to live and don’t every forget him, in case it’s wrong and i die for nothing and that’s how my cycle goes

I remember vividly the first time I finished Explorers of Sky. When I faded away and watched my best friend suffer, I cried for what seemed like forever. This song was etched into my heart and soul, so I can’t help but cry every time I hear it in all its beauty. Explorers of Sky was the first time I cried for a video game. It opened my eyes to the magic of storytelling in video games, and that in turn inspired my passion for writing and English today. Video games and Nintendo will always be very important to me, but this game in particular is one I will never forget.
This song taught me that it's always okay to cry.
Ever since my grandmother passed away in February 2020, I learned how to be tough, but it got to the point where I forgot how to cry.
I kept holding onto my hopes, even in June when my last grandparent passed away.
But, when August came around, my best friend's father passed away from a brain bleed.
That's when I finally broke.
My parents sent me and my sisters to my cousin's house for the weekend to sort things out, but that was the first time I cried in over six months.
Rest In Peace Dollie Davis, Ruth Samuels, and Robert Artman. We will always miss you, and will never forget what you all did for us. Making us smile, listening to us when we were upset, and just being there for us. Thank you.

I don't know why... of all the tunes I've listened to... of all the emotionless days in my life... of all the pain... this is one of the few things to bring me joy, hope, tear, but most importantly... a desire to care for others. I refuse to forget a single one of them.

When you get 2/3rds of your team swept by Sabrina's Alakazam and you have to win off of Perish Song
The love of a parent is sure to be recognised but I am certain that the relation between two friends can be stronger than any bond, and this game perfectly captivated this idea; that no amounts of doubts from others, no amount of persecutions from enemies, and even allies, no amounts of nightmares, frustrations, hopelesness, and betrayal can ever leave a dent on such a strong friendship between those two. So strong that not even physical, temporal and spatial parting can ever break the spiritual bond that they made through hardship, conversations, nightmares and reflections shared through various places of importance (the Beach, the quarter room etc.), emotional moments and adventures. The partner's genuine and heartfelt grief is strong because of the love for the first friend... You never gave up on him despite his doubts and unconfidence in his own abilities, that your belief in him was so deep, rooted and grounded, it gave him the chance of becoming the best version of himself. Which is why the grief was so touching and relatable, for the price of such love is this grief. This grief from such loving friendship was heard and was relieved.
Never has such a game struck me so hard when it comes to the storytelling of losing someone genuinely dear to you, for I am still hoping that my own best friend will return from an unhealthy grasp by someone.
I just read this at the climax of the song and this comment sent me over the edge and I am now sobbing

This may be a song about losing your best friend and your entire world, but to me it can also be a song about a hero's final stand against a seemingly impossible foe, and then giving their absolute all even though they know they may not win regardless of the effort they put in.
Don't ever forget how far you've come, and the road you took and the people who took it with you, cause you never know how long you have with them. Keep your most percious people in your heart for all of eternity, and never let them leave it. My life was changed by a single person, a lot like the protagonist of this game, and I love them very deeply, and will gladly fight the world for them if I have to.

This song mixes from the Time gear theme, the partner theme, grovyle’s theme, Guardian of the lake theme, the sunrise theme, the beach theme and the main theme all to draw from nostalgia and really makes you feel the lost. The adventure is over and it’s not coming back. It’s a much more bleak sunrise. God what a masterpiece of music this song is. You can see how it dose all this too make the player cry and it’s diabolically brilliant.

This reminds me of my dog,Angel.When my parents were fighting and i had no one to be with, I woyld be with him. When my parents divorced, he was always there for every tear that dropped. Before he passed, I said to him in his ear, " Remember, no one can replace you." Then he passed at age 18. I will never forget him.

Super relatable, then again i was raised to seem like the most miserable person. The one i grew up with (my dog which was a rottweiler species) i would sped time with him whenever possible. When i was sick i slept with him 24/7, he practically raised me. My instinct have greatly enhanced because of it. But no one told me he was sick and suffering with his muscles and had to go, when they said he had to leave somewhere. Returned and said he won’t come back when i asked, i said then i will come to him whatever it takes. I learned that he died, when i knew that i wanted to die myself. Keep in mind that i and i quote “wanted to die when i was 8 years old” i’d pray to just like him die in my sleep thinking about him and joining him. It never happened. I lost lots of friends, i was left with 2 friends in the end. I have been harassed due to a light autism, and hate hypocrites the most. And about everyone i’ve seen has beeb hypocritical. I have fear of failure as well, undertale, writing, reading and Pokémon has kept me alive including this game/song.

What's terrifying about the inevitable, and unavoidable fate at the end of your life, all your memories, they're just lost to all, you take them with you, and no one can ever see things from the way you do ever again. It's sad, and scary I know, but it's unavoidable, and some of us don't have a choice of when to face it either, so it's best to accept it as soon as possible, and make the best till then!
The saddest thing about this remix is not the music itself, it is the fact that the person who created it was forced to remove all of his others remix from PMD 2, that were also masterpieces...
I swear to god this arrangement is a masterpiece. He took an already amazing song and picked just the right instruments, just the right flourishes, to make this THE BEST incarnation of the song out there. Absolute BS that this was illegal in France, it's a transformative work that highlights the musical genius that went into this game. Both OWNEYE and all the PMD composers involved in this deserve full credit to be recognized.

during my playthrough of pmd2 I noticed the game might have been referencing suicide during the end when you "die" and the majority of the post-game is about you and your partner having to "disappear" and everyone tells the two of you that you are loved and you don't have to "disappear". Almost like someone trying to convince a hurt and lost soul out of suicide...
to be clear about the first part you say to your partner "you have to live... so nothing like this happens again..." almost like you are telling your partner to not join you while you're gone...

Recommendation: Dont name your Pokemon Partner after your actual partner. It'll break your heart years later.
May pmd never be forgotten. It's not graphics what makes a game be the very best it's the chills of a fight the excitment of achieving victory after trying hard and the pain of losing a friend for the greater good...it's all the feelings that you experience through out it .I believe the heart touching music in pmd amplified those feelings , there for making the best game i have ever played.
Arceus ... i cannot listen to this song without breaking down in tears and its been over a decade since i played sky. that game is just.. it will forever be seared into my memories; and no matter how long i live i will always remember the absolute heatbreaking scene of my partner as i disappeared, leaving her behind. nor will i ever forget the relief and sheer joy of hers after dialga took pity on us and returned me.
this story will never be able to be topped for me and its because of sky that i will always remain loyal to the pokemon franchise even when things are bad.
"Don't ever forget" describes these remixes so well. Beautiful art like this deserves to be cherished and admired by _anyone_ who wishes to lose themselves in its spell, not just the people who downloaded it in time.

I couldn't go on happily with out Grovyle i recruited a trecko, evolved it, and gave it every move he had. It helped but didn't stop the tears, luckily i had PMD explorer's of sky and got some closure from the Grovyle side story that continues his perspective right after he sacrifices himself.
When I am (hopefully) in my 80's and I am planning my funeral, I hope I remember this song to be played at it.
Edit: I've been finding myself coming back to this song constantly, because even though I never heard it while I had my yellow bearded dragon, hearing this song makes me cry and think about the times I had with him. R.I.P Drago, Alex, and their scaley daughter, Phoenix.

This is a beautiful remix that made me forget about the world around me and helped created a moment of peace.
When I listen to this I feel like I can finally relase emotions I would otherwise keep inside under lock and key.

Super relatable, then again i was raised to seem like the most miserable person. The one i grew up with (my dog which was a rottweiler species) i would sped time with him whenever possible. When i was sick i slept with him 24/7, he practically raised me. My instinct have greatly enhanced because of it. But no one told me he was sick and suffering with his muscles and had to go, when they said he had to leave somewhere. Returned and said he won’t come back when i asked, i said then i will come to him whatever it takes. I learned that he died, when i knew that i wanted to die myself. Keep in mind that i and i quote “wanted to die when i was 8 years old” i’d pray to just like him die in my sleep thinking about him and joining him. It never happened. I lost lots of friends, i was left with 2 friends in the end. I have been harassed due to a light autism, and hate hypocrites the most. And about everyone i’ve seen has beeb hypocritical. I have fear of failure as well, undertale, writing, reading and Pokémon has kept me alive including this game/song.

man this takes me back to 2009, where i was just a child living life without a care in the world. fast forward 10 years, i've met, and lost lost one of my best friends. we both played this game. I teared up at this point. this theme brings back memories i cherish dearly. i get the orginal person did not want this uploaded. but this brought a tear, and smile to me .

Actually, Bidoof is the true villain.
If you went back to the special episode Bidoof's Wish, you could probably recall that he wished for a new apprentice of the guild, or rather, a new buddy. When he wished for that, he caused [PLAYER] to collapse on the shore and meet [PARTNER]. Then the whole plot of the game goes by. So Bidoof is the REAL villain, the true mastermind.
The words "Bidoof" and "villain" don't really fit well into the same sentence.

Explorers of Sky was the first game that actually made me cry. So this song just brings up so many emotions, and so many memories. So thank you for making this.
Orchestrating video game soundtracks always makes them feel much more real. I don't know why.
For some reason, reminds me of my dustox from my Omega ruby nuzlocke.
He was caught very early on, with a beautifly obtained not long afterward. They were a duo that carried me through the early game.
Though, due to a miscalculation and blind arrogance, beautifly fell to the fire gym. But, dustox lived on. He carried the weight of his fallen comrade through the rest of the run.
Until the end. Facing Steven's cradily, he was used as a sacrifice for me to heal up the rest of my team. And even then, almost beat cradily.
Until, an ancient power managed to finally reunite him with the one we'd lost so early.

In X I had a Meditite die to a Hawlucha I was trying to catch. I was upset, but used that Hawlucha anyway. He sacrificed himself against Lyssander's Mega Gyradose. RIP Jason the Hawlucha. You redeemed yourself. I won't ever forget you.

I lost all of my best friends when I was nine years old, I had to move away for some reason I can't remember. I had to make new friends. At least you only lost one, I lost them all.
@@leef9874 Uh.. I have too actually this past year my house caught on fire and I had to move I've tried to make freinds and she was the only freind I had but I've made some freinds most people just judge me before they even get to know me.. It's sad the way folks are..
Yeah, sometimes friends are hard to make, depending on where you are at least. But when I make friends, I take quality over quantity. It's okay to only have a few friends, as long as they're good ones, as long as they don't use, betray, or discourage you (unless it's a joke/teasing, of course).
The last 6 years were pretty bad for me, I had to move when I was 9 too, because my parents divorced. The kids in the town I moved to were mean and hated me for no reason and my old friends just stopped talking to me. In 2016 I decided not to show up in school anymore, because the other kids would constantly insult me.
But than everything got better, since I changed schools.
And than it got worse again, in april a very, very good friend of my mom died, I met him only once, but in the few hours, I felt like I had a dad.
Sorry, if that seems a bit out of place, but I just needed to get that out there.

I just beat the main story today. Made me choke up a bit. When dialga brought be back it brought a tear to my eyes.

I just got new this morning that one of my dogs had to be put down last night😭. We would have had him 8 years this December. He was already about 8 when we adopted him, and we were at least his third home. I'm away at college, and I didn't get to say goodbye to him. My heart just hurts, and I'm here trying to calm myself a little. 😭

To think a lot of gamers will never try these "spin offs". These games have more emotion and better story than any Pokemon game that has ever been made. Not crying because it's over, but because I had the pleasure to live it and tell the tale.

I will be totally honest.
I really get sad and for atleast a couple of weeks, I always think about the losses experienced in the game, no matter how many times I play the game, I get hit by the same feeling as I got the first time playing. Every time I know what is going to happen, but I still end up crying. That is a quality which not every game can possess. Hands down one of the best games from the storytelling view

Dude i’m 20 now and i played these games when i was around 10-12... Songs still tear me up because it fits the pain I found years later in life... Always come back when I need to get some feels out

I love the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series....from day 1 all the way back to Red & Blue Rescue Time, these games have never failed to make me realize even when I was in pain and saw no light at the end of the tunnel, there would always be someone I could count on to pick me back up, someone to remind me the world couldn't be all bad, to remind me that even if we're destined to never see each other again, to never forget not just them, but the life I've made, all the friends and family I've made along the way, and that no matter what, they would await my return, even if I never came.......Idk I'm not good with the mushy stuff, but to sum it up, PMD never failed to make me cry, because it was all too real for me, I felt the pain of every little moment, but my best friend (Pokemon Partner) could always make me smile again, I would be strong for them in times of need, and I felt they did that for me, but PMD also taught me, that no matter what, if you or I disappeared tomorrow, someone in your life would be stricken with a grief of losing something they loved, and I could never do that to a friend...

This is not the 1st time, not the 2nd time, but many times I’m coming back just to hear this masterpiece that ever created
As you may or may not have seen I’ve already made a comment here, in reference and respect to Alpharad’s first (second) Nuzlocke and all the friends we lost on the way to victory. However, prior to him uploading that video, I had started my first Nuzlocke, in Pokémon Sword, and I feel like all the friends I tragically lost should also have their mementoes buried in a deep corner of the internet as well.
Newt the Pumpkaboo, I was looking forward to using you but unfortunately, in my arrogance of being unaware two of Nessa’s Pokémon had dark type moves, you became my first loss.
Funko the Bewear (I named caught him prior to Alpharad’s video, and this name was a reference to Funko leaking a bunch of FNAF Security Breach info via plushes and figures), you were so loyal in making sure I succeeded at everything to the point where you sacrificed yourself only so I could catch an Axew (who I aptly names Terminator for the murder he had commit). Your life in exchange for an Axew may not have been a trade I would’ve wished for but thank you anyways for being such a good boy, as Terminator did prove himself helpful.
Dope the Vileplume, another member of the family fallen due to my ignorance. It just so happened that Gym trainer’s Gardevoir had mystical fire. You were so important to the team and valued so much by me, but you were gone in a blaze.
Snares the Galarian Stunfisk. Thank you for being actually useful to the team. You got us so many wins up through Piers’ battle where you met your eventual demise.
Rook the Corviknight. Literally the MVP of the team. You were so strong and easily got the most victories of any of your brothers and sisters. But unfortunately I was foolish and pushed you too hard. Poison, Brave Bird Recoil, Skuntank’s Aftermath. I’m so sorry for making you become a victim of circumstance. Fly high Rook.
These next three have a tragic story from a single battle tied to each of them, and was easily the worst point in the Nuzlocke. First off Titanic the Avalugg. I had such big plans for you in our Raihan rematch and fight against Leon, but you weren’t able to tank the Calm Mind boosted Gardevoir. Of any place for you to fall, I didn’t think it would be in a battle against Bede. And our dreams sank beneath the ocean of despair. I then made the very tough decision to Dynamax Rookitwo the Corviknight early. Once I made this decision I knew you wouldn’t make it out of this one alive. You were a great help in Rook’s place and nearly swept Bede’s team… but in the end I knew you wouldn’t be able to take the Max Flare from his Haterenne. However, Bede’s days were numbered, I wouldn’t let it all end here. There was only one Gigantimax turn left. I knew someone must be able to tank a single hit so that I could then switch into Tony the Sawk and finish Bede off. This is where I probably made the worst decision in the entire Nuzlocke. Dibble, oh Dibble. You were my best friend since the beginning, my very own Sobble who I raised from a crying lizard to a badass spy, you may have thought I was taking you through the Galar region, but the truth is, you were showing the beauty of Galar to me. It’s just a shame you couldn’t see it to the end.
After that there was only one loss, Lazy the Galvantula died in the middle of Nessa’s finals battle but we don’t talk about that.
I loved all of you and it’s so sad none of you got to see my victory against Leon, some of you not even knowing the friends who eventually beat the Champion in a flawaless battle with zero deaths: Tony the Sawk, Bolt the Jolteon, Terminator the Haxorous, Squeep the Gastrodon, Steve the Coalossal, and Frostee the Beartic.
All of you were so strong in defeating the Champion, all though, I can’t help but feel… there might be more than this… perhaps… our adventure in Galar isn’t quite over…
Play mystery dungeon EoD, EoT, or EoS. You will love them and they are much sadder than any nuzlocke
Remember us, remember that we once lived.
