    Hello George. I want to thank you so much for helping me to create a booklet for my speech for my wedding.
    Your video made this so easy for me, and I had been trying to do it several times and not succeeding.
    Thank you again, you are a blessing.

    Thank you! Problem solved after watching lots of videos over many months. The key for me was to type all the pages first as you did here and THEN apply all the formatting for a booklet. Initially, I applied all the booklet settings and typed all the pages. The booklet would not print properly. Now, everything prints correctly. Thanks again!

    Thank you! I have watched multiple videos about "how easy it is to create a booklet on MS Word" only to see the front pages print right side up and the backsides print upside down. The key is the one you stressed - under Margins select book
    fold. -made all the difference! thank you again

      You are welcome. Actually, it is in the printing of the booklet that you keep everything right-side up. In the Print dialogue, choose Print both sides, Flip short side. This will ensure that the text prints the same direction front and back of each sheet.

    I feel as though the magic secret that was included in this video was the mention of a "cover page." When I watched other videos, they said to go to layout and choose book fold, however, when creating a 20-30 page where you need a cover and maybe a blank page before the numbered pages then helps to know. Even the Microsoft info says to format the document first then add the text, whereas I usually have a situation like this video where the text is cut and pasted from a different document making their info less useful. Great tutorial, straightforward, and helpful. Thank you!

      When printing your booklet, it is important to check your printer settings prior to pressing print. To print the booklet right side up front and back you should set your printer to print double sided flip on the short side.

      You might also look at using Section Breaks when creating a 20 to 30 page booklet. This would be an example of having a new section begin on a fresh page for each section of the booklet (think Chapter start for Section Break).

      All my printers are able to print double sided. If your printer does not have double-sided printing feature, you will have to do that manually.

    How do you format it if you need more than 4 pages in your booklet? I need 12. so How would I order the pages so that it prints properly?

      Amie Lee, type all of your information as shown in the video without worrying about the final number of pages. Once all of the information is typed in US-letter format (8.5X11) portrait mode, go through the process as demonstrated in the video to turn your document into a book fold. The computer and MS Word will look after all of the rest. Sadly, this isn't a feature available in the Mac version of MS Office.

    Thank you...you explain it so well. I have to listen again and take notes. Can a person make a booklet of 8 pages or more. That's where I have a problem.

    • @georgebott4379
      @georgebott4379  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no limit to the number of pages in your booklet. Practically, the paper thickness is a limiting factor in this. But that's a whole other cocnversation.

    For all Mac users here is the solution:
    1. Format
    2. Document...
    3. page setup
    4. Orientation (Change it to horizontal)
    5. press ok then go to Margins and tap on Mirror margins
    6. Enjoy :)

    Did you do page breaks when you first typed it out?

    • @georgebott4379
      @georgebott4379  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do only some simple formatting on the US - Letter document. Once the document is converted to a Bookfold, I may have to insert a page break while proofing to make sure that I am not breaking information across pages that should remain altogether. You can manipulate margins to assist in this - make them a bit larger/smaller or do a forced page break (CTRL ENTER) where you want text moved to a new page.

    How would I make the booklet if I wanted to fold it from top to bottom instead of on the side.

    • @georgebott4379
      @georgebott4379  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a challenge in Word. You may want to look at a publishing program for the kind of printing you are asking about. I have done this in MS Publisher, but it was a very time consuming process.
