    I really don't understand whybthis channel has so less subscribers. The quality of videos, the audio, the content, the reviews, all are upto the mark in comparison with any other million subs tech channels. I liked your content and support your channel. Will share as much as I can. Best of luck. Stay blessed...👍

    Just a note that the December update allows for full screen mode on apps not optimized for the inner screen. Great feature! Good review and appreciate your thoughts on the device. It is my favorite device I have used. I was a fan of the Surface Duo 2, and the Pixel Fold gives me the features for multitasking that I use frequently on the inner display with two apps side by side. Thanks for the 6 month review!

    one reason why i switched to the pixel lineup is that it feels like 95% of the users are happy long term by reading other user experiences & their phones getting better over time while on other brands, others and me included had issues - software "bugs" coming up, slow performance etc. from Midrange / Budget to Flagship devices all had long term issues for me, pixel so far didnt had any issue but im not 3+ years in compared to other brands.

      That awesome and I've heard the same. So we'll see how the rest of the year and more go. I've got high hopes for this phone to do well. The only thing I'm somewhat concerned about is the folding display.

    I probably would have bought the Pixel fold if they had dropped it at 1,500 but I ended up getting the OnePlus Open. And that led to the Zfold 5. And yes the cover screen is narrow but I actually like it. The ability to type one handed easily is super nice.

    • @JamaltLee
      @JamaltLee 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The one hand experience on the fold 5 is unmatched

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Oh I understand 😅 The fact that I was able to get the device for half the price with my carrier made the Pixel Fold and easy choice. 😌👌🏼 But I am curious about the OnePlus Open. Been seeing lots of promo around it.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @JamaltlLee I figured it would be the best considering its form factor. 😌👌🏼

    • @joshuabergeman354
      @joshuabergeman354 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@swesproductions the thing was that I wasn't really sold on the whole foldable thing. I thought they would be too fragile and I work in a kind of rough environment so paying $1,800 for a phone that might break seemed to risky to me. But then I watched a TH-camr drop his OnePlus Open off his bicycle crossing a bridge and the only thing that was damaged was the frame rail. And at $1,500 after trade-in of literally anything that could make a phone call I was sold 🙃
      And once I got it I was hooked on the form factor. The only thing I was missing was OneUI. Which of course led to me buying the Zfold 5😅
      The OP Open is a great device. It's pretty thin for a foldable and lightweight. The camera hardware is impressive and the software isn't bad. It doesn't do processing as well as a Pixel but it's still very good for a foldable. And multitasking is 🔥
      But it's just a little bit too square for media consumption. And so far software support is a bit behind.

    I swore I saw 987k subs, had to look right that it was actually less than 1000, subbed! Just picked up a fold for $750. At launch the price was a bit too much for me, but at $750 I think it's the perfect deal.

    I have just got mine. Very late to the party and have been wanting to go foldable for years and took the plunge with this. I love it. It took me some time to adjust and get over how precious it is, but I don't think I want to go back to the slab.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      100% in the same boat. I still treat this thing with extra care and the thought of going back to a slab just seems like a step down in excitement. I love when people see a foldable for the first time and I get to see their excitement on their face from holding my phone. 😌👌🏼

    I work construction and renovation so I'm in the dust almost every day. I have also had the pixel fold since launch and so far it is fine. I keep it in a little fabric zip pouch in my pocket but I do still get it out with dirty hands and dust in the air. I think so long as you don't intentionally get it covered in dust or sand you'll be fine. Mines still great

    @hometownherotv 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Well done.
    I said it once and I'll say it again. We are being gaslit by the OnePlus Open. I've tried it on two different occasions before returning them both. Once at launch and once after a few months of updates. It's still terrible. There's some cool things that did with the software absolutely. However I would need to sit down and show people how many strange bugs are in the software that just don't make sense. And if they aren't bugs they are bizarre behaviors. There's so many things that I feel are obvious oddities and yet no one talks about them. Maybe they have a higher tolerance for sloppy software than I do.... But I just can't deal with it.
    Z Fold is pretty good and has really good software for the most part but that form factor gets old. Samsung hasn't been pushed in this regard and I will give credit to OnePlus for that aspect. They shown what you can do with foldable hardware so that should move the whole industry forward.
    The pixel fold like most pixels is a software phone. If you give a damn about software that's the phone you want. If you're down with slop you'll take any of the others. If you hold the pixel fold at launch next to a pixel fold with the latest software it's a stark difference. THAT is why you would want to go Google.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wow! Thank you for that info. 🙏🏼 I've never heard that side of OnePlus from other reviews I've seen so it's nice to get some transparency. But yes, software on this device has been improved tremendously and is definitely at the core of why I chose this foldable over others.
      Again, thank you for the feedback. It's greatly appreciated 🙏🏼😁

    • @hometownherotv
      @hometownherotv 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No problem! Did you get the latest update that it has the app expansion feature? Basically works like Samsung where all the apps can fit the full screen despite being optimized.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! I was so bummed that I realized the app expansion AFTER I finished the video. 😭 To me that add a lot more usability to the inner display and I've easily caught myself using it more now that you can stretch every app. It's definitely something I'll mention in the "1 year later" review when the time comes. 😌👌🏼

      @@swesproductions They all just keep getting better. I think iOS is great too, but honestly it's the small things with Google. Down to simple things like being able to clear background apps and gestures. I am a huge voice dictation fan. • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It definitely is a preferable size, I do however wish it was just slightly taller and slightly wider. For me personally, I seem to have a big more errors typing on this keyboard vs the iPhone 13 pro max I had and the Samsung s23 ultra. Minor inconvenience In the grand scheme of things but one worth mentioning.

    I am a field mechanic looking at one of these folding phones, which would be the best for the -30 to 100F temperatures, humidity, dirt, grease, oil. Also I know how the Samsung Dex mode works well how about the other phones desktop modes? I have iphone and iPad right now for those needs as well as laptops for machine comms. Looking to see it this could replace 2 separate devices. Need something robust.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      🤔 Well first let me start by saying that Samsung I believe is the only foldable with a computer mode like Dex. The Google Pixel doesn't have any mode similar to that. As for which foldable would be best for the line of work you're in?, it's honestly hard to recommend ANY fording device considering the likelihood of dirt or grease getting within the inner display. But that's a chance we all take with these phones just living our lives. 🤷🏽‍♂️😌 So if you feel the chances of dirt or grease getting within the inner display are high, I'd recommend the least expensive of the bunch, or which ever has a sale going on. I love my Pixel Fold and haven't had any issues with sand or dirt. And it has fulfilled my need for a tablet. 👍🏼

    I like this review, but honestly this is the only review that actually praised all that google has to offer with this phone. Many of the other reviews on this phone are upset with the chip being a model older than the Pixel 8pro. So I really don't understand this review and why he loves it so much. I am glad he does. He's almost making me want to get it over the Samsung Fold 5 (or fold 4) not sure which one yet. Or Maybe I would wait for the fold 6 to come out and get the fold 5 when it comes down in price. I have also been trying to wait for a new pixel fold to come out and I have not seen one anywhere. Any ideas on that yet?

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of the love and excitement comes from the fact that this is my first foldable phone. As I type this I still can't help but to cherish this phone for its foldability. I'm aware of the older chipset but with it not really hindering any of my actions on this phone, I don't see any reason to count it against the phone. 🤷🏽‍♂️ As for the NEXT Pixel fold, I believe the rumors are for it to release sometime this year. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. 😌

    Awesome review!
    Quick question, how do you clean the inner display of the phone? Do you think Lysol wipes are safe to use on it ?
    And your video editing is definitely among the best. I actually had to pause mid video to check how many subs you had and was shocked. I thought you would have been in the 100k +

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! I typically try to just wipe it down with a microfiber cloth dry. But if it's in need of a good cleaning I'll just use lens cleaner that you would use on your lenses or glasses. I don't recommend using Lysol wipes at all. Especially with inner displays. I've noticed how sensitive they can be. They're more prone to scratches.
      And again thank you for the feedback! It inspires me to keep going and let's me know I'm on the right path. 😁🙏🏽❤️

    If you can check this for me please. Is the minimum dpi for internal display and external display the same in the developer options? On oneplus open, the value can be set for each state depending on what state are you accessing it in. This would allow to force apps to behave like tablet apps with a higher minimum dpi.

    • @swesproductions

      Alright. So I wasn't too sure how to check at first but I think I figured it out. When I go into the developer settings what I find is "dp" as supposed to dpi but I assume it's the same. If so, when the phone is closed it says the "smallest width" is 411. Opened it says 420. Does that answer your question? 😅

    • @GeetMadan
      @GeetMadan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @swesproductions yes. Thank you so much for checking. Just a tip if you wanna try it, you can increase that number to scale down your content. It might ne helpful to have a higher dpi for the internal display and lower for external display.
      I asked because similar to the pixel, it is decoupled on the oneplus open, but it is coupled for the zfold devices

      Do you want to have a larger display in your pocket?

    Still refuse to buy a foldable, toi many inner displays randomly crapping it.
    The tech is nowhere near rugged enough for everyman use, had 2 fold 2s and a fold 3 crap out on me and thats with them in cases and babied and cleaned every day.
    Pocket lint can kill these things ince it works its way in and the displays can straight up fail after a random amount of folds.
    Don't care how goid everything else is if the inner displays can fail from doing what they are meant to do = fail.
    Sure neglegance will will kill your device also but i have been burnt 3 times now and its not a game im willing to play anymore.

    • @swesproductions
      @swesproductions  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's an interesting experience to hear. I've definitely seen videos where people talk about getting a Foldable that stops working, but typically once they get the replacement they no longer have issues. So to have 3 back to back to back inner displays fail on you? 🤔 That just sounds like some bad luck my friend. 😅 I haven't had any issues myself. We'll see if that stays true once I've had it for a complete year. But for now, no complaints. 😌👌🏼

      I don't get any heating issues when I use this phone. So there hasn't been a time where the device gets too hot to hold or shuts down due to over heating. Maybe in the summer that could be an issue that I just haven't seen. That'll be something to note on the next review. But as of right now I can say I haven't had any actual heating issues that are beyond the norm of the phone just getting warmer from gaming or heavy use.
