It's easy to forget how many hits this guy had. He is like the 70's sound of musical history. All about love and fun and dancing. Yes it was also the "disco sucks" era but in hindsight this was great timeless stuff.
Compared to the cookie-cutter, auto tuned computer-assisted stuff they produce these days, this is high art! If "Disco sucks" then why does it continue to make paying audiences dance and sing along to this very day? Besides, the "Disco" music was only one part of his music. He also played techno, funk, soul, soft Rock and more. True, the genre had its good songs and truly awful songs as well, but like they say, "what goes around comes around". KC's music has been re-evaluated and many artists now sight him as an influence, even some you wouldn't expect such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rob Zombie who proudly calls himself a fan.

I’m a Fan and I have loved ❤KC and the SunShine Band Snice 1974 I was in the Army at a Dance Club , Vietnam was ending and I was enjoying listening to KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND PLAYING ON THE JUKEBOX AND WATCHING THE GIRLS DANCE . I HAD A WEEKEND PASS AND I WAS SO HAPPY JUST LISTENING TO KC AND HAVING A FEW COLD BEERS 🍺 LIFE WAS GOOD AND STILL IS ! THANK YOU KC AND THE SUNSHINE BAND ! That was 49 years ago and I will never forget that day
This man was the cutest guy when he was young 😍 Still seems like such a kind, caring gentle man 💛
I saw him when I was 16 in 76. At the Castaways bar in Miami. He’s still got it
I was 15 in 1976. 😀
@@rozchristopherson648: I was just about to turn 20, and was getting married!
It's easy to forget how many hits this guy had. He is like the 70's sound of musical history. All about love and fun and dancing. Yes it was also the "disco sucks" era but in hindsight this was great timeless stuff.
People are saying this is disco, it most definitely is not - I lived it & know it is not.
Disco started years after - this was the 70’s music.
He was the 70’s with some FUNK
@@sharenderosa8320Thank you thank you thank you!
Please dont go is the realest man song ever written from the heart of a man that many wont or cannot say but we feel.thank u kc dearly for that
KC has said during interviews that he wrote the song after a girl he had wanted to marry ended the relationship.
@@joe56984: Oh, I have never heard that - thank you! So sad that this happened to him! From the words of the song though, sounds like he 'messed up' which caused her to leave...dunno.
I'm trying to work that song back into my faves list where I can hear it, and "Dahmer" isn't what comes to mind. 😢
Was born too late to have experienced KC' s music growing up, but saw him and his band open up for the B52's last year in Boston. He sounds and performs good regardless of the weight gain. Good to know this guy' s a sweetheart and survived an accident way back when. Also know somebody who saw him live and enjoyed the show. Not very many can still entertain in their 70 s.
Same here, that show rocked!
More Power to you KC!! Keep it Going like it's 1975!! You're Music means so much to US!!
U still sound the same good seeing U always enjoys your show
KC you still got it at 72! For your health take it off! But still love him!
