this video was made by Spike Jonze--who has directed many music videos and movies like "Being John Malkovich". The Beastie Boys are the actors, and it was created to like a 70's cop show like "Starsky and Hutch", "Streets of San Francisco", "Barretta". For more B-Boys, take a look at Jimmy James, Sure Shot, Egg Man, Body Movin, Super Disco Breaking, Make Some Noise, Nonstop Disco Power Pack, So Whatcha Want (/ Cypress Hill remix only on TH-cam). Just a few suggestions. thnx

Love Beastie but this song is not a hip hop song, even with the turntables in it. This is more of a throwback to their punk roots. But they were a hip hop group till the very end and never gave into the glam and glitz.

He has that Zach De La Rocha from Rage sound to his voice because the beastie boys and rage both loved the hardcore punk scene of the 80’s that featured very in your face, yelling type singing approach. If you’re interested in that kind of music check out Bad Brains, black flag,... etc
