@dantech93 The Rolling Shield will only destroy small enemies on contact. The Shield acts as one regular X-Buster energy bullet. Basically, it kills enemies that will die with one shot. Any enemy that requires more than that will cause the Rolling Shield to pop on contact.
Oh, and I didn't know this until some guy sent me a message about it. Apparently you can jump in front of the second cave digger enemy (the one after the long drop folloing the first railcar ride). there's enough room to just jump in front of him and say "forget about it." That would seem to shave a few seconds off the time as well.
Well, at least it's that way on the NA SNES version. I'm not sure about JP, beta, or the X Anniversary Edition. This confounded me back in the mid-90's as it was such a pain having to go through that level three times without getting hit lol now, I can practically do it with my eyes closed.
Actually, I believe those bats first appeared in Mega Man 2; If any of you are still discouraged, this particular enemy has a VERY high chance of dropping a 1-up!
Yeah, I put that in the description of the vid, I just prefer going through the stage over and over again (dying makes me feel unaccomplished). I still have yet to try that theory for that reason alone. OCD is a bitch. :)
Yes, you can get hurt! You don't have to maintain perfect health throughout the whole game. I just did it again and got hurt a few times but the capsule was there the 4th time. I believe you just have to have a full health bar by the time you get to the cliff.
Also: here's how this trick works: every time the bottom-left corner of that ledge (with the capsule on it) is displayed on the screen, the game adds 1 to a count; if you have all weapons/items/powerups, a full health bar, AND the count is equal to 5, then the capsule will appear; if the count is >5, or =5 but other conditions are not met, the count resets to zero. You ONLY need to have full life when you arrive at the end of the level on the 5th try. Not every time & not for the whole level.
It actually took me two or three times recording this to make it through without getting hit. The first time I got all the way to the end and jumped into a bird, knocking me into the chasm. I died. :)
Dear god, the Hadouken capsule is very tough to get, took me about 20 tries. But I got it (Finally)... I am gonna make a save state with the Hadouken so that anyone who wants it on a Snes9X emu can load it up and enjoy without any of the hard work!
Technically, I recorded this on an emulator, but it was the only way I could record it and have good quality. I can beat the game in less than 34 mins without getting hit once on my SNES. This video took about 10 times to record perfectly, though, because I spilled soda on my wireless controller and it kept sticking on me. I spent a lot of time playing this game. Imagine a hardcore WoW player, that was me with MMX.. XD
@THX10538 Did you jump up to the platform where Dr. Light's Capsule is located? When you cross the chasm, you have to get up on the platform where the health pod is locaated, then you are permitted to jump into the chasm and die of your own accord. Hope this helps! :)
If you are playing on an Emulator MAKE SURE that your ROM does not have any numbers after it, like this: "Mega Man X (V1.1)" or "Mega Man X (V1.0)". It should say "Megaman X (J)" or "Mega Man X (U)" or something of that nature. The "(V1.1)" or whatever denotes that it's a beta version of the game, meaning that the Hadouken probably is NOT in there. I had that problem and I wasted an hour or two just trying to figure it out. I hope this helps anybody who is having problems.
@Yoshi6851 Honestly, there is no way to find out, heh. To use the Hadouken special, MegaMan's feet must be firmly planted (not in mid-air). Sigma's final form has the electric-hand-claw-doom-spikes used to access his weak spot. Using the Hadouken at the doom-claw's highest point won't even get close to hitting the weak spot. It ends up just travelling below Sigma's head, making it impossible to hit. However, I'll go ahead and say that Hadouken kills all mavericks, it's just that Sigma's a CHEET.
Considering the code at the end is different from the one while leaving and re-entering the level, I'd have to say there's a bit of evidence towards this existing. Having never played an MMX game, though, I cannot confirm or deny this.
@RaceBandit All of the codes are different each time. The passwords at the end of the level keep track of how many lives you have, how many upgrades you have, how many mavericks you've beaten, how full your energy tanks are, etc. So the password will change anytime these values change. However, if you get the special and then quit the game, when you return, you will have to get it again even if you use the same password.
Why does youtube hate questions and constructive criticism and advice? Honestly, it's not like I said "OMG U R A HACKER N TIHS IS PHAAAAAAYKE!!!!1!11!one!" I can understand maybe a -1, but -5?
@heat970 No, there isn't one. The code at the end of the vid gets you every upgrade in the game. You have to get the Hadoken by going through the steps in the vid. By the way, if you quit the game and then restart, you will have to get the Hadoken special again.
Right, it's probably quicker to just stock up on extra lives and fall straight into the pit after visiting the cliff so you only have to repeat the last section of the level. And hey, dying refills your health anyway...
@alexnobody1 Nah, it's in one of the issues of Nintendo Power from the days of throwback. Try it for yourself. If you can't find a suitable SNES and copy of MMX to buy, then you can always download a copy of ZSNES and the rom to test it out yourself :)
No it does not, it does however give you all energy tanks, heart containers and X upgrades. Makes it a little easier when trying to get the Hadoken special.
Hey do you by any chance have any documented information about that for the ROM version of the game? I'm writing editors for the X/X2/X3 roms and would love to get a head start on editing weapons/secrets like this!
@SklnO have you filled all the sub tanks and reached there without taking damage (you can die) and killed all bosses with its weakness for all bosses including Sigma?
@SiliconNostalgia I don't understand... I have every needed requirement: all the 4 sub tanks, all the 8 heart tanks, all the 4 enhancements and all the bosses down, I jumped up to that cliff at full life a countless (like 9 or more) number of times, either through dying or starting the level over... why is it not working? could it be a problem with my rom? are you playing via emulator or actual console?
Nice but you know you don't have to exit and crap you can just die and redo half the stage.... also for maverick hunter x (the remake) you can aquire the haduken by beating this stage without being hit ...use the chameleon sting to help :D They also took out his voice in the x collection for ps2 :(
@NyuxSaysxNyu It actually only takes three times. However, I have had it happen to where I needed to exit the level and restart up to six times (this happened to me several times, actually), so I'm not sure what to say about that other than there must be a bug in the the game's code somewhere.
well in his description he say down, foward attack but actually its (down-down foward-foward attack) the motion should be smooth to where you FEEL you're only pushing down-foward attack. Good?
I have done that multiple times, upwards to 7 and I have not gotten the hadoken. Do you have to not get hit the whole level? I did it by jumping off the chasm so I only had to do the last half, but it still didn't work.
how do you even get the thought across your mind to try theese things? who figures out that you should exit the level and return 3 times ^^ I have played this game a lot of my childhood! And i could never ever find out stuff like this :O
you dnt have to quit the stage if it dosent come i jus jump off it takes about 2 tries also you can slide past that 2nd tank instead of usin da fire good vid though
@erni5cp Nerd? You favorited a K'Nex Roller Coaster video . . . Your grimmacing grin tells tales of your hypocrisy; judge not those of whom you know nothing.
Wow..you're an absolute game master. I couldnt play a single game (yeah, even Super Mario Bros) this good. 2 thumbs up!
You totally made my day with this; I could never get this to work right. I'm going to give this password to myself 12 years ago.
@rodencirio thanks for this. I knew there was something I was forgetting :P
@dantech93 The Rolling Shield will only destroy small enemies on contact. The Shield acts as one regular X-Buster energy bullet. Basically, it kills enemies that will die with one shot. Any enemy that requires more than that will cause the Rolling Shield to pop on contact.

After 4 tries moments ago,i was able to do Hadouken with X...it rocks!
WOW!!! Your like a freaking pro!
@ bryan tabares - you have to use a Rolling Shield fully-charged shot
I love the little HADOUKEN he says
@DREBIN813 Correct, You may defeat any enemy, Maverick, boss in one hit, with the exception of the final boss (Sigma's final form).
Actually, I believe those bats first appeared in Mega Man 2; If any of you are still discouraged, this particular enemy has a VERY high chance of dropping a 1-up!
Lol... Dr. Light is dressed as Ryu when he's in the hadoken upgrade capsule
Yeah, I put that in the description of the vid, I just prefer going through the stage over and over again (dying makes me feel unaccomplished). I still have yet to try that theory for that reason alone. OCD is a bitch. :)

man i used to lovee this game
yeah this is real. it kills everything in 1 hit. but ive gotten it before and i was getting hit. this kid is just really good haha

@ZeroG004 thank you
@nysiah12345 There are a total of eight heart tanks, one in each Maverick stage.

Is this real? It's too intricate to be fake, but it's too bizarre to be real!
What were you doing withth Rolling Shield? It was flashing then gone for a while then reappeared w/o charging.
I think it's faster to just kamakaze it off the cliff a few times cause you start mid stage.
Even works on ios!
@NyuxSaysxNyu It actually only takes three times. However, I have had it happen to where I needed to exit the level and restart up to six times (this happened to me several times, actually), so I'm not sure what to say about that other than there must be a bug in the the game's code somewhere.

Good?
@SiliconNostalgia I think it works on them all, but it's unlikely you will hit sigma's final form with it.
@Goku6982 the soundtrack to my dreams is MegaMan music... not even playin'.
I have done that multiple times, upwards to 7 and I have not gotten the hadoken. Do you have to not get hit the whole level? I did it by jumping off the chasm so I only had to do the last half, but it still didn't work.

Yesñ
How do you do the hadouken after you get it? I don't know D: please help!
wow for some reason when i get the bubble around me it pops as soon as i touch an enemy
@alexnobody1 No one will ever fully understand the ways and wonders of TH-caminess.
does that code also give u the hadoken too?
yeah its down, down, forward, forward, shoot button
@SylvanLynch It would only be "TA'd" if Roll showed up with breast augmentations.

@erni5cp Nerd? You favorited a K'Nex Roller Coaster video . . .
