I purchased this yesterday. I went into Cabellas with $11.00 in rewards points and thought "What can I guy with $11.00! Then I found this and am usually pretty skeptical about these pour through trail brewers but this looked light weight, well thought-out and durable. I tried it this morning and its great. Re-useable filter, durable, easy, FAST (and I felled the filter with coffee), and make sa great cup of brew (Make it good). It packs down nicely and is light and just really well designed. Thanks GSI!! PS-I did use fine grind coffee.
GSI make some very useful outdoor kitchen products. I have used the Java press in my home and while camping for years and it’s practically indestructible. The rocket is a good complement to their coffee product lineup and I’m glad you like it👍
Tried it with a K-cup. Filled the reservoir to the brim - made a decent cup of coffee. Simple and light. Can’t go wrong with the price. Thanks for the review
I like it’s compactness and fit into my mug. The part I struggle with is how slow it brews. I’m talking 4 minutes. With it being open over one’s cup heat is lost quite quickly. I tried having my grounds not to fine, but it doesn’t matter. Not sure if it’s worth keeping, but for $10 kinda hard not too. Any suggestions to speed up the brew time?
@@ktrigg2 I ended up returning it and getting the GSI ultralight coffee drip. More compact, and quicker. Maybe a little to quick vs. to slow, but works for me.

Very nicely done video. Thanks for your time.
Great review! I’m going to be picking up one soon. The price is right. Should go well with some Black Rifle Coffee
Academy sports has it for around $10.

I’d say grind the holes to a slightly larger diameter? Problem is you risk overflowing the filter I would guess

MrBalas3: used fine grind coffee and it seeped through very quickly.
I found a lid that worked on the funnel perfectly. Then I made a hole in the top and use a small bicycle tire inflator hand pump. Viola
great review thanks for sharing
push the legs open all the way and it still sits on the gsi backpacjer mug.
