    I have 2 kind of cory: corydoras panda, and albino cory.
    Only albino go fast to surface of water, gulp air at there and go back.
    Before seeing your vlog: freaked out think there isnt enough O2 for my albino.
    Now i know its only its habits.
    Thank you so much

    I love how the albino corys look. Bought 6 of them 4 days ago but now I am down to 3. The danios I bought with them seems fine. Been feeding them hikari carnivore pellets cause it sinks at the bottom they are not eating, even after I serve them baby brine shrimp. They are in a quarantine tank 5gal for now but im going to put them in a 30gal if they make it. Hopefully

    I have Pygmy Corydoras and I really do think they're awesome little fish. They've bred a few times, but so far only one baby has survived to adulthood. They're in a planted community tank, and I don't have another tank to remove the eggs to, so it's all about luck. But it's happened once, so it could happen again!

    Iv recently had a cycling crash in my tank due to forgetting my weekend water changes. There about 6 months old, where happy and bamb lost some. I think its the Ammonia but the WC should have fixed that right?

    What is meant by a sharp substrate? You've referred to this in a couple of your videos but don't offer examples. I get sand and small gravel isn't sharp, but what IS sharp?

    For breeding aeneus corys, for me feeding them with betta flake food and after doing this for a week a cold water change with a place in the tank with high flow from the filter is what works, i say this for everyone that can't for whatever reason buy and feed ther cory cats live or frozen foods

    Do Cory barbels wear down? And if so how do you help them regrow?

    • @jakeknowles2372
      @jakeknowles2372 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Corydoras’ barbels do not “wear down”.They can be damaged on sharp or jagged objects including the substrate that they are kept on. If the barbels are damaged they generally do not grow back to their full glory but they can heal over time. There is nothing you can do in specific to “regrow” them. The only thing you can do is treat them with a anti fungal to prevent a bacterial infection from forming due to their injury. This really isn’t necessary in most cases.

    • @seedlesspumpkin3654
      @seedlesspumpkin3654 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jakeknowles2372 ok, my Cory (had a group but they died off and stores have been shut down due to weather and COVID) and it has shorter barbels then i remember. The gravel isn’t sharp or anything tho

    • @jakeknowles2372
      @jakeknowles2372 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seedlesspumpkin3654 sometimes when Corydoras get fin/mouth rot it can affect their barbels.Does you fish have any symptoms besides the shorter barbels? Also what was the cause of death for the other Corydoras? If there is an ammonia spike in the tank ammonia burn can also deteriorate the whiskers.

    • @seedlesspumpkin3654
      @seedlesspumpkin3654 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jakeknowles2372 I’m not sure the cause of death, I think it was aggression from the betta fish (20 gallon tank, stocked with some small Molly’s and Cory and male betta) but I’m note sure as the betta hasn’t been aggressively other fish, the corys that died had torn fins and suddenly couldn’t swim, like they would fall onto their sides etc, I’ve done regular water changes
