Not a bad video but some of the most important big issues with a used Defender are totally overlooked here. Rust. Lift the floormats and inspect right up to the pedals. Check the bottom of the doorframes. Check chassis fronts underneath where the bumper mounts remove and discard the devils rectangular rubber plugs that may still be there. Dig / hose out the mud that will be in there.
Thanks for the feedback and your comments. You are quite right about the rust, I have included some of this in the write up, link in the description. In SA rust is a problem only in the coastal areas . Vehicles that remain inland can survive with no rust issues at all. This vehicle I bought has no rust.
As of april 2022 I have bought another , its a TD5 110, called Lord Vander Vader (its jet black) so I now have 3, not interested in the yank stuff or the fake jeeps ( ist what FJ is on a Toyota)
You have the limited ones with the BMW 2.8 petrol. Nice video. I personally have a tuned TD5 and have done 50K with no issues. The last true Land Rover with an engine only used in Land Rovers
Recently bought a 2nd hand 2012 2.2 Puma. Had overheating issues after driving it a mere 300 kms😂. Was so disappointed. Anyhow its my first landy.... I will enjoy it....
