  • Recording 'Like A Tear' in Decca's Broadhurst Gardens (Studio 1), with Wayne Bickerton producing and Derek Varnals at the controls. Thanks to those who identified Adrian Martins as tape-op. From the 1969 film 'The Same Trade As Mozart'.

The guitarist 11 secs in on the right of vocalist is Geoff Nicholls who joined half way through recording album ironically as keyboard player when Dave Kubinec left. Geoff joined Black Sabbath as keyboard player in 1979 and stayed for 25 years.

@soundhog09 Many thanks for this amazing , priceless footage. They are one of my favourite pop psych groups from the 60s.

I'd tend towards _making_ them leave. At gunpoint if necessary.

As the songwriter/frontman (in just about every band I've been in), when it was time to mix, I'd always say to the rest of the band, 'Shall we go to the pub and let him get on with it?' Then I'd find some excuse to go back and oversee the usually incompetant (at mixing) trainee engineers (we were usually fobbed off with, having to rely on downtime in places like Konk) whilst they did what they did best... Then they'd come back full of beer and kebabs and think it sounded great no matter how bad the mix. :)

Kehew is the worst mixer. Who allows him near a mixing console?
