- In a lavish outside broadcast, your intrepid duo visit and interrogate the site of the studio where the Beatles first auditioned and where the Beano album was recorded, and the famous nearby venue where many famous artists performed.
Absolutely brilliant
I worked in this building for 23 years with English National Opera. I managed to save all the studio clocks that were thrown out or a donation to the Christmas fund paid to save others. So much music history that nobody at the time was interested in. I showed Danish radio around once, but nobody running ENO were interested. I even pulled the airline seats used by the Moody Blues in the control room of Threshold, out of a skip outside. I had them for years. Still have the studeo name plates and the brass letters off the door of Threshold. All to be skipped no doubt on my passing.
Is there any way you can post some photos of the stuff, especially the Moodies things? I was there outside the building on a trip to London 20 something years ago and wished I could have went in and seen the inside of the place.

EC told me the Beano photoshoot was in Peckham. As they say in Essex “Bollocks” you didn’t know that place existed (or it’s historical significance) in West Hampstead and when I dragged you there kicking and screaming in 2017 to impress on you the importance of context in time and place it was about what happened there the moment that changed the world of guitar and the aspirations of one very young fledgling guitarist called Rick and his battle with Mike Vernon in a class based society where oiks were not allowed in Control Rooms and could only communicate via the engineers! Decca studios should be a living and working museum, much like how Sun Studios is today. You can still record there or take a tour of it while in town
