- I have been a big fan of the new lore from Warhammer 40k 10th edition. One of my favourite factions the astra militarum and its leader Lord Solar Leontus have gotten a great spotlight fighting against the tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan!
Today i wanted to go through who Leontus is and what makes him so awesome with a nice explanation about his new lore.

The way they go about combat is pretty horrific, but as an overall enemy I think they are as boring as just about any horde. At least Orks are funny and bri'ish.

I don't see him becoming a conquering warmaster for the Imperium like Macharius as I see the Lion El'Jonson returning making all other commanders really start to struggle as the Primarch will just pull everyone and everything into his orbit maybe if the Lion is stuck on the far side of the rift permantly and Bobby G gets dragged into a problem at Ultramar but other wise you got Space Marines starting to legion up for this new guy who just popped up just in time for 10th I see it being difficult to get him rolling. Still something needs to be done about warzone Octarius and the Nids coming for tea and biscuits on Terrar if we leave the Lion on the far side of the Rift for now and say G man will have to deal with the invading Nids then maybe Leontus will get his big moment by crushing Leviathan before they become to big to fail in Octarius as that is becoming a more pressing issue as time rolls on! Still black library could always just ignore whats come before and just retcon him into a load of stuff which would be irritating but not new for them.

It still exist in the Imperium, its just rarelt used because of its jistory.
Technically he is but the title Warmaster is considered cursed or ill fated omen by some in the Imperium so instead they are officially called Lord Commander Solar.
