Using it as a short trip overland style rig would be pretty awesome. Not a lot of people demonstrating practical uses for these. Lots of people showing how fast and fun they are, but it will be good to get a different perspective

If only states would make them street legal, even if it's under 50mph, that would help alot to see the real practical uses!

We put a roof top tent on our 1000xp 4 seater n that thing is so fun for weekend trips

Make it street legal there are ways to do it even if your state is one that doesn’t register for the streets this kind of vehicles. South Dakota will plate it and you could take it to places were they will allow street legal SXS the other way is Montana LLC holding your title and registration for street use using this last method you could drive it even in your state as it not registered directly to you and as long your are not on any interstate hwy you are legal.

    Awesome, congratulations !!
I ride UTV’s, quads, dirt bikes, you name it. Super fun, you’ll enjoy it. Would be cool to see you take it somewhere and load it up and leave with just that and all your camping gear for two or three days. I look forward to more of your videos.

I would like to see you just use it first without mods. Then you could show us how well it performs in different tasks since its sort of supposed to do everything. Sometimes those vehicles are great and sometimes they just don't do anything well. I have a Honda Pioneer which is strictly utilitarian and works well for my needs. I wonder how well something like the General would do at handling my needs but also add to my fun. My guess is that its a really expensive vehicle. I am also interested in reliability in the real world. My personal experience with Polaris has been that they don't last very long and break a lot.

  • @jeffmorris739

Dude! I'm so excited for you. I just ordered one of your holsters for my 19 and I love it. Glad to see you picked up a General. I just picked up the same exact model the day before Thanksgiving. I'll let you know a couple things I got for you to think about. I grabbed the Speed Strap tie down kit along with the towstrap that I throw under a seat in the general. I picked up the Seizmik Pursuit side view mirror and corner mounting brackets, which are really nice! I picked up a Savage UTV belt change kit and a spare belt. I mounted it to the center bar inside of the top of the cab with the hose clamp kit. I also got a Savage UTV fire extinguisher kit, and installed that next to the belt change kit so everyone can access it if we roll and are still strapped in. I ordered the Polaris tip out windshield and rear windshield glass but they're back ordered. I ordered the OEM dome light, and a simple street legal kit. I picked up 6 Baja Designs pod lights, 2 for the bumper, 2 for the A pillars, and 2 for the back mounted up top for utility and reverse lights. I also grabbed the Kemimoto bag for the gap in the front console. I put an ARB plug kit in there, along with an ARB deflator, and I grabbed a Viair compressor that I stuck under the driver seat. I swapped out the winch cable for a synthetic rope. I also put on a lighted whip for riding near other people. Plans for the future include Eibach dual rate springs. I plan to fab up a rear rack because I'm not a huge fan of the factory kits out there (tusk/razorback). I'm going to relocate the rear camera to the top of the cage so it's actually usable, the factory position on it is super low. I'll eventually swap to a set of matching tires so I can actually rotate them (no idea when Polaris uses this factory set). When I do that I'll get some wheels with a little more offset so I can widen the track width without using wheel spacers, and grab a 5th wheel and tire for the trail. Pro Eagle makes a pretty sweet CO2 jack that I'll eventually get along with a Power Tank. The rest of the stuff I get will just be as it comes along I suppose, I look forward to your build!

This was a super valuable comment for me. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave it, and all the insight. I'll look into everything you suggested and I'm glad to say a fair bit was already on my list!

@@smoore0530 The machine ships with a hitch already installed. You just need to plug a receiver in and you're off and running. I've only towed small stuff around the property but this thing is strong enough to pull decent weight for sure.

Awesome addition !! I have a 17’ Tacoma and a RZR 900 Trail and I take it along on the occasional weekend overland trip. In some cases it allows you to access back country areas you can’t reach with the truck. I’d like to see it in action in this mode, gear it up to do some overnight trips as well. Lots of interesting ways to show us how the General can add to your adventures.

Was out in Ouray in August in my 4Runner and those side by sides are taking over. Lots of them all over and all ages driving them. What I like about them is that they are all set up for wheeling and you don’t have to worry about not being able to drive it home. You just load on the trailer and go.

I would like to see you set it up with utility style racks which would work with tools for property work as well as adventure gear. I have a 2018 Pioneer 1000/3 EPS and am always looking for ideas and mostly find that people just add electronic accessories and switch panels rather than tool and gear solutions. I had a 2001 Polaris 500HO and it was a great machine that gave me great service and no problems I think you will love your new machine.

  • @chadsar
    @chadsar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Stock springs are pretty weak on Rzrs and Generals. As you add stuff to yours you'll likely want to look at some after market dual rate springs otherwise your ground clearance is going to suffer in addition to your ride. Folks like Eibach are a good option for that. Full belly skid plate is essential as others have mentioned. Comms and intercom can be super nice to make talking with your passengers easier and also car-to-car comms easier. PCI and Rugged Radios do good intercoms and you can do various Ham radios along with them to integrate with the intercom.Lighting you're familiar with so I won't even mention that. Go for a hardened poly rear window. Inexpensive and holds up pretty well. Greatly reduces dust etc blowing/sucking in the rear when. you have a front window. Spare tire carrier for those times when you are out and away and do not want to walk when you get a sidewall cut.

if you are gonna be driving that in weather, a full glass windshield with wiper helps. put a velocirax 5 bike carrier on that thing and get way out there (because that general can do it) to ride your ebike.

We love our ranger. Hopefully y’all will to. We take ours trail riding and some pretty rough trails as well. I would love to see some videos using the general. We are planning on a long weekend camping and trail riding this coming spring . I would suggest using it stock first. You will be surprised what you can do.

Yeah, I've ridden around in some relatively stock ones and always been impressed!

Not sure if they have anything for this exact model, but Quack Rack has cool utility racks for rangers.

It would be sick if you could either find, or modify a small roof top tent for it

Snow adventures with tracks would be awesome! Maybe see if you can throw a rooftop tent on it!

I have a stepdown model of the same machine (deluxe). I have bought a lot of my features through UTV direct, and got a great price. Things I have added are front and rear windshield, soft cover sides, rack in the back to increase storage, and tracks. I would like to see how to do a lot of the maintenance. For example, how to install the tracks, how to change the belt if needed, changing oil, etc. I know this doesn't apply to your machine, but I have wondered if I could upgrade my machine to something similar to yours. For example, I would like to install A-arms similar to yours, and I would like to have more clearance, and bigger tires like you have.

The tracks would be cool to see! I’m for all the content but how it works on the weekends is what I’m interested in.

The vloger Maxx Powell has one of these and it seems to blow belts out a lot so if I where you I'd keep some spare belts around. I'd like to know how well it jumps!

Maxx does, but mine eats belts as well. It didnt the first 3yrs, but now it does. It has been taken in and inspected with no answers. I will be taking it to a different dealer for a second opinion.

I think Weekerlander trips with your RZR would be pretty rad. Not sure if you’d be able to mount a tent or not, but I think camping out of it would be cool, assuming your local trails allow them to be driven.

Honestly do what you want with it, it’s your rig but just make sure to show the full functionality and all the build process and sort of what you can do with these things on a real practical and useful level. I see plenty of turbocharged rzrs, which is awesome, but it’ll be cool to see the actual use you can get out if these things rather than them just being toys.
