      @DC Bowlin Have you actually tried their specific Ridgid 18 v cordless wet/dry vac or are you making a generalization? I'm speaking from experience.
      My requirement was to find a CORDLESS(no outlets) option to extract water from car carpets. This does the job well if I don't have a full corded wet/dry vac.
      I don't know what "research" you do but Vacuum Wars takes a scientific approach. Based on their systematic testing Ridgid wins hands down:
      th-cam.com/video/ED3I3ZXwqME/w-d-xo.html
      When it comes to corded wet/dry consumer wet/dry vacuums Craftsman. Unfortunately the Vacmaster 14 ranked 3rd place:

      @@ricardogomez01 I had not seen vacuum wars video, though I really like there comparisons. Project farm has also posted a solid comparison of these vacuums. If it works well in your setup, I’m glad! I will admit, in my portable rig, size factor is a huge limitation. Vacuum Wars did a video on best portable vacs, and the Vacmaster Beast had the best numbers for an extractor. I already carry a generator, and all of the water lift numbers on these battery powered vacs are HORRIBLE. Even the giant rigid vacuum, admittedly decent but still not amazing on paper with just the 60ish inches of lift even with the solid air flow number. After finding that out for my particular setup where I wouldn’t be able to fit a vacuum that large, I just decided it wouldn’t be worth the investment, since I already carry power with me. I totally understand if it makes sense for your setup! And I believe you if you say it works pretty well.

    So if I just want to.hook this up to my shop vac and don't car about spraying a cleaning solution, what is the method to hook it up? Is having this attachment any better or has better or stronger suction capability than me going out and purchasing a 6hp 3-1 Extracror made by HART?

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So this allows you to flush / rinse the carpets out with water. To hook up attach the 1 7/8 wand to any hose and boom dry extraction vacume. (Adapter may be needed to go to larger hose size as i did in the video)
      As for increased in suctionn there may be some, but the holes in the extractor head are smaller then a normal shop vac hose. So actual water removal flow may not be any greater then a regular hose.
      As for why you would build this over buy the HART well thats down to user preferences.
      The HART is a cheaper version of the Mytee. This was a DIY version to replicate and exceed a Mytee's abilities for much less and with more durable parts. (Also the vacume's warranty is lifetime at any HomeDepot (fast changes if a problem happens) thus making repairs a quick and easy thing.
      After years of using pro 3in 1 products that broke sometimes on the forst use others mid job with an expensive and complicated rebuild i decided there had to be a less fancy optioned way that was much more durable and rapidly repairable by common and easy to aquire parts (wand head was the only exception and a very bugie one i might add lol).
      But hey the part has a great design and why messs with it? Take the best of Mytee and leave the worst (there cheap fittings, pump and expensive shipping costs.

    Will this work on the type of carpet in a home?

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. However the head size is quite small. Would be good for small jobs and soot jobs. Otherwisr a traditional long carpet wand would be better.

    What is connected to the extraction wand? Mine came with just the wand.

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what what your refering to. Perhaps its the black coupler to adapt the smaller wand handle to the large diamater hose? That is a shop vac hose adapter that is found at home depot.
      Or are you refering to the water line in on the handle. If so dod you purchase the mytee 8400p or a cheaper plastic verison. The reason i dont recommended them is because there do not have the sprayer assembly and wster line adapter and wil need to be sourced as well (hidden upcost).

    Thing is, why not just purchase an extractor for the same price?

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So a mytee extractor (small unit no heat) msrp is $650ish. This was a way for people to build there own with similar features (same wand / head) for less than half the price.
      And while there are cheaper extractors, generally mytee is considerd to be twards the top. Despite the high price, fittings failing from factory, and issues with pumps burning out.
      For less than half i built a unit one can used in a shop based section that not only runs just as well, but is much cheaper and easier to replace a broken piece. And holds alot more liquids, meaning less stoping and emptying during larger jobs.

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A smaller less powerful one yea. The rug dr or Bissell is less money. But also holds a fraction and requires multiple empty and refills.
      Its the cost to performance factor. Otherwise i would have kept using the small units.

    • @detailaddicts
      @detailaddicts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Um....no. its takes hardly any time to dry. The 8400p uses very little water when dispemsing (fine mist) and the vacume has alot of suction to remove the excess water.
      Ive done several cars with this and the dry time was no longer then any mytee.

    I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)
