Dr. Candy, I am so impressed by your clear descriptive exercises combined with your pedagogical approach. Recently I (a 70 year old woman from Sweden) discovered this amazing program and want to praise you for your brilliant ability to convey how to use the body correctly to not strain our "pain points", especially for us "oldies"....even young ones. .
Dr Candy thank you for sharing this awesome video. I found your instruction extremely helpful and easy to follow. I look forward to seeing more on your channel.
I will need a bar to start as I am in my 70's. Not sure if I ever will succeed as I had cancer and the therapy plus heart attack, sciatica surgery. but I will slowly try it as I need more strength in my quads and ankles and hips. Slow and easy! but TY
Excellent explanation I am now following you. The horse stance is one of my lower body exercises. Since isometrics is 80 to 85 percent of my training I rely on this exercise for my lower body training. Also bottom position squat holds are something I do and are very effective. Maybe one day you can do a video on them. Thank you.
@@More4Life Thanks. I appreciate the way you drill down to what is functional and might work for different people in different circumstances. Keep 'em coming!
I'm gonna do this in my home office now. Maybe once I am stable enough, I can graduate to doing it in the workplace office without embarrassing myself in front of the colleagues. 😂
Sorry to hear that. Here's a Walking Tips playlist with videos about how to walk better with less pain. th-cam.com/play/PLsxYq2xJHBAkBAkL9lVqe0Xbau5hTES0I.html
Sorry, but how you’re demonstrating it is incorrect. The knees should not extend further than the toes. And your torso should be vertical - not leaning forward
I am 65 years old just started horse stance a week ago and doing 1 minute hold of 2 sets and feeling better while walking
Great job! Keep up the good work!
Thanks 86 just starting 💪👍

Make sure to check out the seated version at 2:30 . That might be an easier entry point.

I am 105 years old; horse stand is m'y favorite ecercise. I can do HS for 9 seconds.
That's awesome! I hope to be able to do that at 105 (or even 95). Keep up the good work!
I'm a stroke survivor with muscle spasticity. I'm hoping I can try this.

Is it ok to start free standing rather than on a chair? I can hold for 1 minute free-standing in an approx half squat. Is that ok?
Absolutely! Everyone's physical abilities allow them to start at different levels. If you don’t need the chair, there's no need to use it.

Good luck!
I stopped doing horse stance. Developed a epigastric hernia, not from doing horsestances,it from being 72, thinking I am 50.
Great beginning. I think you should be working on straightening your back not going lower.
I can't do it, bad knees
Did you watch the whole video? See 2:22
I am 72 years old and I have a hard time walking

Officially, yes. But this is for seniors, so there's some adaptations to make the load lighter.
Big balls.
Hmmm that form do not look like a real horse stance as in martial arts.
