Love your videos mate! Spot on commentary makes me smile :) Great game too - need to give it... a shot ;D Really like character animations. Thank you for cool videos!
I've never seen this one. I've seen games with moving crosshairs that attempt to simulate unsteady aim... but this looks a bit much. Those kind of scenes in games would often frustrate me... but I'd go out of my mind playing an entire game with it that does it to this degree. I'd probably play it once for a while... then move on to something else. Just like you said in your video. I have to admit. It's kinda funny at 1:54. He gets shot dead... then gets back up just to show you a "game over" sign. 😆
A lot of the 'darts' sports simulators used the same aiming mechanism and it just spoils the gameplay for me a bit. Haha yeah he pops up from his death bed to tell you it's game over! 😇🕹️👌
Hmm not sure, just gives options for joystick - but I definitely know 'Gunslinger' was light gun compatible and that had a similar look to this one 😇🕹️👌
Graphically, SHOOT-OUT looks retrospectively nice 😸👍. And the music 🎵🎶 sounds cool 😺👍. But the controlling 🕹️ seems frustratingly difficult 😹. I rather play WEST BANK from Gremlin Graphics on my Commodore 64 😺👍🕹️. I could also play BUFFALO BILL'S WILD WEST SHOW from Tynesoft on my Amiga 500 😹😺👍🕹️.
Funny that they chose to allow the player to turn off lives, but no way to turn off cross-hair drift. I remember playing some "shooting gallery" style games on the PC a few years after this came out, and despite offering the far more lenient and accurate mouse as a controller, none of them chose to implement a wandering crosshair. It also seems like, given the colors chosen for the "hero" sprite, they missed an obvious opportunity to make the whole game black and white. Still, the art and animation is appealing.
The wandering crosshair was good in principal but bad in practice... reminds me of some of the terrible 'darts' simulator games which used the same concept and ended up just ruining the gameplay 😇🕹️👌
I don't know about this one, there are many better western themed games out there. Try Wild Gunman, it's like this but much better and you use a light gun. (I know it's NES, but it's the first game that came to mind.)
I think the graphics are pretty good.
Not too shabby I guess 😇🕹️👌
Those graphics are fantastic for its time period
'Martech' games always had a certain charm about them 😇🕹️👌
Not seen this before, cool graphics
Definitely worth giving it a go, worth experiencing and it does have some good moments especially with the can shooting sections 😇🕹️👌
I'd say the graphics are pretty nice for it's time. I mean compare to anything on the C64 from 1983 or so and it looks amazing.
True, the evolution of graphics on the Commodore 64 was pretty mindblowing, as developers got much more savvy 😇🕹️👌
Your metaphors are hilarious as well as on-point. I swear, it always makes these videos so entertaining even for the cruddiest of games!
Always great to hear that people are enjoying the videos - much appreciated, thankyou 😇🕹️👌
that main character gfx is as smooth as it gets
Tough to aim the crosshair thats why I die so often in the video haha... I was much better at this game as a kid! Getting old 😇🕹️👌

Much appreciated, thankyou - many more to come 😇🕹️👌

@@CheekyCommodoreGamerThat drunk aim is way OTT from how it appears in this video. Why on earth didn't they tone it down a little?
Supposedly, this game was compatible with various light guns for C64, but only on CRT screen of course. I never tried that tho.
Hmm not sure, just gives options for joystick - but I definitely know 'Gunslinger' was light gun compatible and that had a similar look to this one 😇🕹️👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer I never owned one, so I'm not sure, but supposedly light guns and light pens could emulate joystick on C64.
A moment for the brave dude who climbed 12-ft high saguaros to put up bottles.
Apparently, he felt a bit of a prick at the time 😇🕹️👌
Looks fun, might fire up the breadbin for this one! Nice one Cheeky
Yeah give it a whirl - it's alright in short bursts and definitely worth trying out 😇🕹️👌
Shoot Out have the same high score name writer as Rambo First Blood Part II. There it is a helmet though.
The great David Collier created the Rambo high score I believe... I love those high score screens 😇🕹️👌
Very nice
Not a bad game at all really, I enjoyed shooting the bottles & cans section the most though 😇🕹️👌
Looks nice. Probably a few extra levels were needed for some variety.
Yeah if there was a few different environments this would have been a winner 😇🕹️👌
I didn't get the "lights off" feature?!?
Download the trainer version, you can turn infinite lives on😇🕹️👌
Graphically, SHOOT-OUT looks retrospectively nice 😸👍.
The aiming cursor is difficult to keep under control! 😇🕹️👌
Animation of the hero is great. Music is on of the best tunes composed by human. Who cares about the gameplay!&?!?
But isn't playing a game for its music instead of its gameplay similar to watching a movie just for the end credits hehe 😇🕹️👌

I say that there are giant ants (made large by aliens) way out there in the distance, waiting to attack! Brrr :)
That could have made it a much more interesting game! 😇🕹️👌
Nice one! Any chance to make a review of the game Alien (1984)? Been looking forward for that one.
The Argus Press one? Sure.. I'll definitely get to that one - great game, stay posted! 😇🕹👌
Had this back in the day but got bored of it after 20 mins.
20 Minutes was probably about enough time to see all the game has to offer... or, 5 mins 52 seconds 😇🕹️👌
@ Haha! Indeed!

West Bank is another one... on the trusty C64 😇🕹️👌
I thought this would be more of a CABAL type game. too bad it wasn't the case
Cabal is a great game isn't it! 😇🕹️👌
You're weak in Shoot Out, just admit it. Hehe. ;]
Probably! Aiming is a bit frustrating 😇🕹️👌
