- I had a lot of fun filming my bookshelf tour video (linked in cards) and thought it would be fun to take a closer look at my vintage and antique books with you! I have a few that are as old as 1854!! I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for watching :D
I love that gone with the wind, nice😀👍
The poems of Byron with the embossed covers is probably from between 1900 and 1910. There seems to have been a fashion for covers of that sort about then. I love them too and have bought a handful of books with such covers, the only times that I have bought books just because of their appearance. The ones I bought are all children's educational titles on pond-life, birds, microscopy and things like that, so they are interesting anyway. I love your collection. Thanks for taking the trouble to show them to us. I've got one really old book, dating from 'MDCCL'! (1750 in modern numerals.)
Be careful with the cloves because you can damage any page. It's better not to use them. Just make sure you have clean and dry hands.
I enjoyed your video. Take care!

Yeah, no gloves needed. In fact, they say it’s better not to use them. Also, the leather of the books actually need the oils on your hands.
Good to know, thanks!
I like collecting vintage books. I find they are just so pretty. I have alot of vintage book and i want to start reading them. Great collection by the way.
I love antique books. They're so beautiful. I would like my own stack of antique books, which are a green one with the number 1 on the spine, a brown one, a thin black one, a green one with a gold oval on the spine, and a yellow one.
Lovely explanation Nice relaxing video thanks
Don't store books on top of standing antique books. You will break the spines.
WOW !!!
REALLY,
EXCLUSIVE !!!
How many of these books have you read? Btw great collection
Thanks! I've read most of them, but newer versions so that I don't damage these.
you shouldn't lay books down and stack them on top of each other, that will ruin the spine.
always stand upright! 💪📚
Just an FYI if you collect books from the 1850s that have green covers especially brighter greens be wary of them. As that green cover was made using arsenic....if you handle them don't touch your mouth and wash your hands after handling them.
Hiiiii good👍
Be careful with those antique books. The ink used in them is pure black lead.
incorrect
@@paulg9652 Don't just say I'm wrong. If I truly am incorrect, explain how. I've done my research, unlike you.
Lead was sometimes used but not as much as you would think, other metals were used too, and sometimes not at all. But it's the only reason to wear gloves, to protect your skin, which she does, so it's ok.
