That funny, 'old-fashioned' printing is called 'Gothic type' or 'Gothic script' in English. Your English is so good, I thought you would surely know that expression. It is amazing how long Gothic type lasted. I started learning German at school in England in about 1952/1953 and the textbook taught us Gothic type after the first few lessons. It gets quite easy to read after a while, but try reading handwriting from that era. Das ist ganz was andres!
I mean I’d probably call myself both? But this part of my collection isn’t for reading and the reason I have most is cause they were given to me or I thought they’re pretty,, if I am interested in any of the titles I buy a separate dedicated copy bc quite a few of these are either too fragile to read or awkward to read
