Riding my 2015 voodoo bizango with 780mm handlebars and running Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR 2.30 front and rear (my little upgrade) The bike is perfect and how it should have always been.
I've just brought a voodoo bizango 29er and it kills my old carrier vengeance and now I'm getting used to it and now I'm doing more trail rides on it than my old vengeance . They both have 29s on them but the voodoo is better.
I've been trying to decide between that and a Bizango. The parts seem very similar indeed, so it is basically the Bizango being £50 cheaper and a 29er (I'm quite tall), vs the VRX not looking so fluorescent. I dunno why they make 29er versions of the Nucleus VR and VRS but not the VRX. If there was a 29er VRX or a Bizango that wasn't that disgusting colour, my mind would be easily made up!
rowlandofpoland Your better off getting the Voodoo if you still haven’t decided mate. Both bikes have the same Suntour Raidon 120mm forks but when you start to look at price points for the other key components such as Drivetrain, brakes etc the Voodoo has more expensive parts by almost £30 and is 50 quid cheaper. Just some food for thought, why pay more for less.

Managed to find one second hand that had 7 miles on it as the owner also got a road bike and decided to pursue that instead. I'm 5 foot 6 inch and its a size medium 18 inch frame. I really want to cut the bars down to make them shorter so its more comfortable for me. feels almost too wide to me and too high up compared to my old Ridgeback and Marin mountain bikes from 15 years ago. I went to Halfords (main UK stockist) and spoke to the mechanic concerned that maybe the bike is too big for me. He said nope, you need to get used to it and that mountain bikes with 29 inch tyres its better to have wider bars so you have more control. Ill give it a go and see if i can get used to it.
@@palindar3448 congrats on the new bike. I too came from a 15 year old mtb but technology has moved on drastically and now bikes do feel bigger but you sit in them rather than perched on top of them. The bizangos bars made my wrists hurt at first but I got used to them and now I'm thinking of getting even wider bars.
Great value bike IMO. However the BB is pants. Mine needed replacing after a few months. Btw best to replace with hollow tech crankset otherwise you will only get the same issue again. Top upgrades: 1. dropper post ( I needed the 18" frame to allow dropper to be low enough for my 30" legs with 120mm dropper. Otherwise I liked the 20".) 2. Superstar components 2 degree angle headset makes bike feel super stable. 3. Minion 2.5/2.4 front/back tubeless. 4. Raidion fork has an extra 10mm travel if you adjust spring pushrod. 5. Grippier pedals. I guess the mods add around £250 to the cost but I got the bike for under £400 so still great value.
@@stewbright4614 Unfortunately I think that there is only the original crap BB available for the cranks. So you need to look for a crank set to match a different BB if you don't want same problem in future. I would recommend shimano hollow tech2 crank/BB. But you need Boost chainline cranks. This means either a single cog Boost crank or a standard double cog crank but only use the outer ring. Btw you would need a Narrow/wide chainring and bolts to match bolt pattern ( square or rectangular). All this might cost under £100 depending on where you shop. Hope this helps.
