It's way WAY more than 2 lines of code. Everything in a video game is a shortcut. It needs to be, because we cannot simulate every possible thing. Having a core heartbeat that everything uses for timing is a SUPER common and useful shortcut. Making a game render faster will often screw all sorts of other things up because they require a set number of cycles to do their job, and now they might not get done in time, so they get skipped. This is why game physics often freaks out and everything goes crazy when a patch unlocks FPS.

I don't know what all the known issues are with the Lance patch besides the increased framerate making some skips and jumps difficult or impossible to execute now. And this was for the PS4 Pro patch, dunno now but it also somehow completely undid the Bloodletter's frenzy-inducing attack. As in, it doesn't inflict frenzy at all. So yeah not perfect but still infinitely better than nothing at all. Still don't understand one dude able to do things still better than entire dev teams paid to do garbage work. Will never make sense

I know that it works on old firmware only but google not so helpful in searching proper instructions also does it affect gameplay critically? like 60fps patch for original Dark Souls makes jumps shorter and sometimes you can't go up against small bumps like ladders and such

THANK YOU for not embedding the scrolling chat on the video. Not having a FaceCam is a nice bonus, since it blocks screen space and IMO doesn't add anything. But scrolling chat in a VOD breaks me. I have an attention disorder and I LITERALLY cannot pay attention to what is going on in the video while there is text scrolling by. Truth! Pro fighting game tournaments (Street Fighter, Tekken, etc.) are played at 120hz even though the games are 60fps. When you're dealing with frames of attacks/startups/recoveries that are in single digit frame numbers, the hz makes an insane difference in latency. The gains in decreased input lag from 60 to 120 are exponential, with diminishing returns starting after 240hz.
Depressing to watch the game like this and not get to play it thanks to the Sony boss lol. Seriously though, great video and game looks amazing, its just transformed with this patch.
i appreciate that game but there are plenty of things i do not like about it. i purchased it along with old hunters extension ... and i never played it. the thing is i typically did not watch walkthroughs so i did not suspect i missed how to enter the DLC. now i have no time for it. i wish it was clearer that installing DLC is not enough. how would i guess which bosses are DLC?
I'm just replaying it this week. When you get the dlc item it tells you to walk outside the chapel and get taken. I might understand if it's a ds1 type dlc entrance where there was no chance in hell I was finding it on my own. Honestly one of the only negative things I can find with this game is that it's not on pc and never got a remaster.

I believe BB could lock to 120 with a native PS5 port albeit at 1080p. The backwards compatible mode doesn’t utilize the full power of the APU.

The human brain can detect up to around 500 Hz. Moving from 60 to 100 does matter.
