If you want to try stewardship without and Adventurerer and try playing tall, I would recommend playing in Sardinia and start with the county with the Mine in it (Its the county on the bottom of the Island). Its one of the easier starts for playing tall because, it has a Mine and its also easy to defend cause its a small Island meaning the enemy always has the landing disadvantage when attacking you. Try heading to get the whole Kingdom of Sardinia together and start swimming in gold when the other countys get their economy buildings build.
Wtf I just did several dozen hours playthrough and didnt even notice you can found a holding as a landless, what am I doing, damn I wish I could be as smart as Ottawa Welshman :D
Adventurers are a whole new game did not even know you could do that. I did for now two runs where I went for combining the Conqueror+Great Khan trait and one of them lead to a near world conquest in a lifetime.
Fun fact, this decision is actually broken! The city center building you can make isn't actually meant to be a building, it's meant to be the city itself (which for some reason is built as a level 1 castle). And your city only actually gets two of the buildings you fund because of this (it only has 2 building slots). Given the order of the popups, that means assuming you are funding every option, you only get the waterwheel/windmills and the city center turned building.
Wait. One of your cities actually got 3 buildings?????? I mean even with that, you get like 4 seperate events, so you are still missing out on one building. But it's still odd that one of them actually made 3 of the buildings.
I'm currently playing Chinese Silk road trader who founds shit ton of holdings in one place and makes a new Chinese colony on the other side of the world
The first holding you found "Katzenelnbogen" is actually my hometown, and its pretty small. Back in the medieval period the barons that ruled there had a lot of power and some even controlled the rhine river... It's nice to see it in the Game 😄
The only unfortunate thing is that when the character that has built those cities dies, the son doesnt get those payments anymore, either way, you can go the learning path, get all the health boosts, visit a church to buy some health boosting artifact as well, and just spam buildings in high development counties, ive managed to make my character live to the 100 y/o with 90k in the bank, once he dies, since ur kid wont get the payments, take over some land, and basically you got 90k to easily conquer anything you want hiring mercenaries and building and upgrading anything you want in your counties. As an extra, before you take land, travel to india and build the elephant upgrade in the proving grounds, fill up all your men at arms slots with elephants, and then take land, you will have a bunch of op elephants to compliment the mercenaries.
Upsettingly accurate how you just need to bribe whoever's in charge of the local area to just plop down whatever crap you're looking to exploit next. No questions asked 😂
That pilgrimage event with Latin quote option is about a priest saying th world is gonna end soon. The latin response is a passage from the bible "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Matthew 24:36. Well part of it, since the quote in option ends at "no man"
You started in 1066, try that in 867 only staying within the tribal areas. Also contracts levels are determined by who is offering it, like a count will only give you a level 1 contract a duke level 2 , and king level 3. So if you are in an area where the counties have not formed into duchies and duchies into kingdoms and Empires give you level 4 contracts, your only going to get the basic. I never tried it though, but if you could found a holding in a tribal realm in 867 start you should be able to get alot more because the tribal realm won't recognize it until they convert, so you end up getting more money because they don't have to send part of their money for taxes and military.
