How strong are the tow hooks? Can they actually be used for getting a vehicle unstuck or is it more for loading on a tow truck? Also will this interfere with any sensors?
The factory hooks are really only designed for a flat tow and not recovery. But in a pinch I would use them to recover the car if needed. And no they do not interfere with any sensors.
This design has two flaws. Number one, ideally if you are going to mount a front bumper extentionn with recovery points, the extention should be designed to be strong enough to be pulled in from several points, that use the strength of both recovery points together. This is why I started looking at these types of bumpers for in the first place, after I decided I would build one if I didn't see an aftemarket that did it right. This bumper is not constructed to be pulled from. It is plate metal. Brush guard and light mount at best. And the tow point extensions not only do not work together as I would have hoped, and that other designs allow for, but they offset the hole, so that it is not aligned directly with the threaded socket in your vehicle. This puts un-necessary side torque on a socket that is designed to fail if it gets too uch side torque. Databyter
Is this a newer version than the one shown on the website? This one looks to have more contours than the one on the site. Also the website shows a hoop option. Is this one available with a hoop as well?
Yes this is the 2.0 different then the one on the site. It has not come out yet but will soon and there is no hoop option on this bumper unfortunately..
Wouldn’t extending the frame (by adding the large bolts to the tow points) interfere with the crumple zone at the front of the car? Or risk bending one of those bolts if, say, someone backed into the bumper?
Hey Your not exactly “extending the frame” and it wouldn’t interfere with the crumple zone in any negative way. This is why people put aftermarket bumpers on there rigs for extra added safety. Yes if someone backed into you you could potentially bend those mounting points but in turn if you didn’t have it would you be replacing your hole bumper since it’s plastic? Me personally I’d rather buy another aftermarket bumper then try and fined a color matched factory bumper.
Do you have any videos on the 1.5 eco lift kit for a Forester and question since the rear is only 1in spacers any issues with saging when rear is loaded?
If I buy the $499 option without side wings, are the bar mounting bolts exposed at the ends? Also, what does the hoop option look like for this, and any idea when it might be available? I’m a serious buyer heading into May ‘23.
The mounting bolts are exposed without the “wings” most people paint them black if they don’t get the wings. And the hoop option has been discontinued for the 2.0 version unfortunately. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I installed this on my Outback. I love it and it looks great. I’d add a caveat. Your going to need around 300 ft lbs torque to bolt these securely at least to the 2023 Outback wilderness. You’re going to need to use a pro grade impact gun to accomplish this.
If you send a template to cut the factory tow covers that would be great, I will be ordering this as soon as my ADF 2” lift is installed!!!
