This snow wheeling trip was epic! The Canaan Valley / Dolly Sods Wilderness is our favorite place to vacation (camping). We have always wondered what the area looks like in winter, and now we know! The roads to the Dolly Sods wilderness area are most likely gated in winter. You’d probably need a snowmobile or snowshoes to get up there, LOL. Anyhow, it was fun seeing you wheeling on some roads we know, and visiting places we love to go to! Cheers, -Lauren & Joy
It really was! Pretty unexpectedly too, it was looking like some snow but it really didn’t pan out until we actually got there. I guess that’s what an isolated storm looks like!
That weekend was crazy there! I played Icebreaker from the Blackwater falls side in the Powerwagon late Thursday night to set up the hot tent for the weekend. Woke up to another 12” on top of what was already there and the drifts were almost waist high in the open spots. Many a Vanlifer was pulled from those ditches that weekend… Thanks for the documentation of that crazy storm.
Nice sounds like you had a good time too! We didn’t attempt Canyon Rim. There was a brave van lifer we saw on the Davis side of Canaan. Bold, but not too unwise. Looked like they were well setup
@@DirtRoadTherapyyeah, we didn’t do canyon rim either. I’ve literally never seen another vehicle on the roads you all checked out either. That one with two way traffic is insanely tight in a few places, especially that dippy off camber section. Good driving.
We typically get a snow storm or two in the Western part of PA like that, but this winter was an odd one. Most of the storms went east of us and you got them.
Looks like an awesome day in the snow. The last snow we had in western pa got me all excited to do some wheeling, but then the snow was gone by the time my Jeep warmed up. 😂
Love the car at 1:37 with zero lights on 🤦♂

Beautiful trip, wish we got as much snow as y’all!
