I think the only big thing about this revision is the 5V charging, you said in the video that a powerbank with 5V output can be used to charge the device. This is actually pretty big, because it enables the device to get charged from more sources, basically every power bank and power adapter ever existed. Or just hook up a really long lasting power bank and use the device for a long period of time in addition to the battery life. I hope they keep this for the Win Max
The 7Y30 is the best, the 8100Y was used later to reduce costs, it was cheaper than the original that's also why they took away the vibration. Basically the 7Y30 is the version of IndieGoGo that is the best
You should try emulators like PCSX2 since that one is very CPU bound and the 8100y could be a massive improvement. Basically: If you want a Win for PC games - get the 7y30 version If you want it for emulators - get the 8100y version
Pretty much. I could see certain PS2 games performing better, but really, not by a whole lot. In the totality of things, the 7Y30 seems to get the job done.
Also the SoC is never designed for gaming in mind, more for like on the go office stuff. At least the upgrade is better than what... like celeron n4100 or pentium 3965Y that kinda soc
From my experience with my 8100y win 2, make sure you use the older pcsx2 1.4 version cuz for some reason games like god of war are very laggy in the new 1.6 update
I'm going to also do a review on my GPD, I have the Win 2 7Y30 model. I modded my GPD's Allocation memory and ended up with 2800MB Dedicated Video Memory. Now it plays GTA 5 and Need For Speed Payback Flawlessly on High Graphics. These machines are the future of portable gaming, don't think anything else can come close to it, not even an Alienware laptop.
This *might* help a bit with certain PS2 and GameCube emulation scenarios, but outside of that, you're right, we aren't really getting anything ground-breaking gains for general gaming.

Have you ever considered doing a source Film maker test? I think it would make a very interesting rest to do, you can also install the meet the heavy film to test how fast the gpd win can render the project.
The 8100Y seems to be performing worse than the 7y30. Intel has the worst integrated graphics. I'd like to see the GPD win 2 max performance. amd's APUs are better than intel's which everyone is looking forward to see.

Wrap this thing with a proper skin then you will get a nice decent looking device. I always dream of wrapping it with a glossy black skin then put a small chrome coloured Surface logo on it just to emphasise it’s running a full blown windows but my wallet says otherwise
this isnt a win 3 its just a hardware revision. the win 2 max is insainly more powerful than the win 2 using a ryzen cpu. its just down to size. would you rather have a smaller more compact weaker machine or a more powerful one that is much bigger and not as compact (its about switch size)
the 8100y turbo frequency is 3.4ghz max which is alot better than the 7y30 in ONLINE mmos,looter shooters, battle royales or any other game that is poorly optimised. Uniengine wont show this but it is an important factor when deciding if and what you want a GPD win 2 for. For example if you want to play retail WoW or classic WoW then the 8100y is a better option.
Did they not update the intel HD 610 to a UHD 615? i swear i keep seeing that some places and I want to make sure I get a model with the (even slightly) better graphics.

@@Avioto that's the dpad membrane to be fair. Changing the dpad to a Vita dpad won't change the mushyness. You can always mod the existing 3ds style dpad by replacing the membrane with a 3ds membrane off eBay. Not ideal I know, but it is an option :)

Hi I didnt know where to post this. My Win 2 has been upgraded to a 1tb m.2 ssd. Recently I've noticed the fan working harder and the battery cutting off at around 50% usage. Is there anything in bios or windows (like a setting or something) that I could tweak to stop this? Or is it a case I have a faulty ssd?

It easily would. This is something you can look up based on benchmarks. Probably in the next week we'll be seeing detailed benchmarks from the Smach Z in particular since early backers are finally getting theirs.
@@Luke-qs2cg What options, name them ? ARM is out of the question, because it can't run x86-x64 programs natively. Nvidia M150 graphics and others use too much power. They are going to make one computer with an AMD processor, but it's going to be much bigger and even have 2 fans to cool it. There is nothing for something this small.

8100y have better clocks so in emulator you will get better fps, 7y30 have lower clocks but it have Little better performance In Windows games

My Win2 shell rotted out, after 3 years of use, but I bought a replacement shell and it still runs like new, (but what a pain to swap it out).
I just want a phone size device that allows me to play 2 youtube videos at the same time. Phones stopped doing this.
Fortunately I can charge my PD power pack with my 5V large power pack.

Yeah. Max is a bigger version of GPD Win 2 with Vega 8 graphics. GPD Win 3 probably should have the same as GPD Win 2 but better specs.

Performance wise, there is no difference. The quality of the device is better.

They need to move away from Intel's super low power platform. It simply doesn't perform what the pricetag would suggest.
They have no other option, because you can't cool and power more power hungry processors in such small device.
