  • Did you think green split peas were only good for split pea soup? It’s time to elevate this humble ingredient to its rightful place in your recipe rotation! Green split peas are great for non-lettuce salads like this one and this Split Pea Salad Recipe has quickly become one of my most popular recipes!
There’s so many benefits to eating more pulses and legumes like green split peas, beans, and chickpeas. They offer plant-based protein and fiber, plus other important nutrients, and can really help you feel full and satisfied when paired with a variety of other ingredients.

As written, it's vegetarian and vegan-friendly (just swap the honey for maple syrup) and easy to bulk up with additional protein or more veggies. Make it your own and leave a comment to let me know what you think!

This looked so good but when i saw you put corn & MSG as they're so bad for you plus 2 tablespoons of honey - that's too many carbs . but using it as a cold salad is an interesting concept ...thanks!

I'm curious why you think corn and MSG are bad for you? There's nothing nutritionally that suggests they should be avoided. But thanks for watching, feel free to modify the recipe to make it work for you!

Dried legumes and beans have always been intimidating. Nice to see an easy application of the split peas to add nutritional value to a bunch of other tasty veggies

Love that idea! That will add such a nice texture and even more great nutrition. Enjoy and thanks for watching!
