Love your no-nonsense, unsponsored reviews. I come back again and again to just get clear and useful information without the overly glitzy and tiring “excitable” fan-boy approach of some reviewers. Still not sold on the Neo vs the Min4k as a beginner drone. I get it for an introduction to the hobby but see it only as the entry point. EIS may be good enough but you can’t imo beat a proper 3-axis gimbal. I admit that with the Neo being focused at social media sharing, they didn’t opt for a vertical camera - but also see that it would reduce the overall draw Anna target market to this drone. Internal memory for a micro sd cards certainly introduces the next update to the product.
@@JWNRW59 thank you so much! Yeah you are right! You can’t beat a 3-axis gimbal and sure enough , the Mini 4K will have a higher quality and can be better in many aspects. Neo is attractive for other factors like “self flying” and portability
Totally agree! I feel that it can fit different levels of experience, of course, what I meant on the video was that even beginners can take advantage of this :)
Another fantastic video Otto, thank you very much, you are definitely our go-to channel for all things camera gear. Thank you very much and we hope you have a wonderful day 🤗 Amituofo 🙏🏻
I plan to buy this for my Christmas gift is this easy to set up the settings and how many hours to use the battery.i love this specially when the DJI NEO follow mode while you walking really cool ❤
Interesting little unit. I have a mini that I like a lot and wouldn't want to get this but I enjoyed the overview of the product. I do think that missing a SD slot is a pretty big inconvenience though. I'm traveling Japan currently and my neighbors had one they were playing with so I'm glad I got to know more about it. They seemed to be the kind of travelers that didn't really know much about drones and were all having a good time with it so there's definitely a defined market this device is for and works great for.
Agreed with everything you said, and yeah, there is a clear market for them, sales have skyrocketed for what I know and I can see people buying it as a gift for the holidays
Great video. I'm ordering the combo (remote control, etc.). I understood that the maximum distance when using the app is 50m? What's the maximum distance and altitude that DJI Neo can reach if I use it with the remote control? Thanks.
the drone doesn't need internet to fly. If you use a remote control the distance is greatly improved, in theory miles/kilometers away but this will depend on line of sight and interference. I would not advice to fly to far away since the battery will not last that long anyway
Love the Superdry shirt and cap, can I have a sponsor? Thank you in advance! Anyway nice review, simple yet clear. Helps me to decide if it’s the one I need.
I am new to drones and planning to buy one. Do you suggest to buy a used DJI mavic air(3 years old but in good condition) or a new DJI Neo ? Both of them cost the same.
@@pradeepchannagiri I’m really having a hard time recommending one over the other. I had the Air, great drone and all, but if I had to choose today I’d probably go with the Neo with the controller, I feel that the Air is already old tech and I remember that it has a problem with dust getting inside the fan. The air will be a better option in windy situations and you can’t beat a 3 axis gimbal but I always fear that older tech will face problems sooner, like lack of support, harder to find spare parts etc.
Hi. II liked your video very much. So clear and easy to digest. Thank you. I'm new to drones. I want to buy my first one to take aerials of landscapes and also of me doing things so the follow mode seems nice. I am undecided between this Neo and Mini 3. I heard the Mini 3 does not do follow and things that the Neo does but it has better image quality and also and SD slot and better batteries. This is very difficult! The price is kind of similar, about 100-150 more for the mini 3 combo vs the neo combo. Any thoughts, please? Thank you.
This is a difficult question. Personally I’d get the Mini just for the video quality and longer flight time, but the Neo has some nice features and you can fly just about anywhere, the recent update also makes it better (tracking speed)
Great video. The last drone I owned was the DJI phantom 3 professional. I sold it years ago and just bought this one. Hopefully the video quality is good enough for some over head video shots
Video quality is definitely not on the higher end but for social media it will do the trick in a convenient size. Hope you enjoy it. Lets us know when you try it
@@OttoJulian_ it’s definitely looks good I mean there obviously better cameras but for quick shots non professional I think it looks pretty good especially for the price.
Thank you Otto one thing I’ve learned after purchasing seven DJI drones is to never, and I mean never buy a first generation of any new model. Also never buy more than one or two DJI drones. There just isn’t enough of a difference between each generation, skip two or three generations. while you save your money and then, if you must, buy another one.
@@4toes1nose you have a very good point. I’m sure they will iron out some stuff after more people start reporting stuff, so your approach is very smart. I feel the same after buying the Air 3 and not having a huge difference with the 2S that I had. Now they released the Air 3S but I’m not even looking at it and will wait until the Air 4 comes out next year. Thanks sharing your opinion!
basically I suggest you do a clear hand clap in frame and if your audio needs sync that should help... I have it but havent flown yet... im glad you mentioned that
That's the trick indeed, but I'm seeing it from the point of the average kind of person that will use this and also doesn't make sense why sometimes it records into the video and sometimes it doesn't.
NEO needs ND filter mount !!!!!! Why no ability to put on ND filters ??? Are there ND filters for the NEO ??? See at about 17:22 you are using an absolutely ridiculous shutter speed of 1/1250 to get a proper exposure. ISO should be 100 in daylight to lessen noise but these unavoidable high shutter speeds are terrible. Sort this out and I will buy a Neo immediately. These high shutter speeds make video look like a 1980s news cast. Way to crisp and unnatural. Fix this please or is there a hack to get a ND filter on the NEO? Seems to me to be an easy thing to build to accommodate an ND filter.
Do a comparison review on the hoverair pro or pro max X1, the extra cost I think is a more advanced option as a camera drone. The footprint/form factor is more travel friendly. Accessories are also more diverse for the different ways users are able to achieve videos shoots.
