@@AndDiracisHisProphet yup, it was like they'd read my mind, I'd always thought that, from when I first saw a clip of it (looking at it through 1980s & 1990s lenses, when beating your wife wasn't as socially acceptable, or acceptable as a 'joke' anymore) - and when I heard Fry say that, I knew this was a show for me...I had already thought I'd like it, I had watched from the first episode, but that was when I knew I'd be a big fan of it...and I am :)

It's amazing how a joke as incredible as "You're twice the *the* he ever was" precedes one of the most emotional moments in the entire series.
The Late Phillip J Fry is right up there with Jurassic Bark as a masterpiece.
