Actually, it was a Steve Pearce walk-off grand slam vs the Angels. He hit 2 walk-off grand slams in that week. I was at the Angels game to witness it and about half of the people left in the 8th inning only to miss the comeback.
It's been over since at least July, so can't hate on the fans for leaving lol. This franchise is a joke, and will continue to be a joke unless the MLB makes serious changes to their playoff method.

Was thinking the same thing. Tellez the second batter in the inning would’ve been struck out because the 2nd 1-2 pitch I believe it was was a strike. But because he didn’t get his body in position it was a ball. Then hbp next batter. Then the strikeout of McGuire. Then the Jensen HR. Then Romo strikes out the first batter he faces. Then boom Rays win 8-5. But it didn’t happen.
Sept. 20, 2018: Jays down 8-2 in the 9th, Gurriel Jr. hits a Home Run to tie the game 8-8; Sergio Romo comes in to try to close the game with a 2 run lead and gives up a walk-off HR Sept. 3, 2021: Jays down 8-2 in the 8th, Gurriel Jr. hits a Home Run to tie the game 8-8; Sergio Romo comes in to try to close the game with a 2 run lead and gives up a walk-off HR
nonsense. schultz gave up a double, double, hit batter, strike-out-looking (weird, how'd schultz get a strike-out-looking without framing the pitch!?) and a 2 run homer on a 1-2 pitch... yep, blame the catcher for all that fail.
Man is the AL east gonna be interesting over the next few years. The jays have young team with a lot of good players coming up , the Yankees look like they were at the beginning of the millennium, the Red Sox look unbeatable and the Rays are in great shape.
I'm a Houstonian. A die-hard Astros fan. I wasn't worried about this series we're playing against the Blue Jays right now until I saw this. What a comeback! Gotta say it's good to have a Gurriel on you your team, isn't it? :)
That really is a crazy win! Barely enough time to recover from Gurriel Jr's tying homer and along comes Smoak who immediately wins the game, absolutely incredible performance!
To bad it doesn't mean anything. But it's good to see the future of the Jays, Tellez, Lourdes, Jansen doing so will. Add Vladdy and Bichette in there and they could make a run within next 2-3 seasons.
2021 here - you ain’t wrong! Jays are frickin stacked and dangerous this season. Their record doesn’t quite reflect how good they are but that’s mostly due to key injuries. Once they get everyone back, they’re the kind of team no one wants to face. Even hobbled as they are, they’re top 10 in MLB power rankings. They’re a legit top 6-5 team. Can beat anybody in a series.
I'm a Blue Jays fan who has watched this over and over again. Even as I watch it each time I still can't believe we walked off Tampa Bay; especially as they'e our bogey team and couldn't even buy a hit until the bottom of the 9th! A very special moment for us fans.
Its a shame the East is the way it is. Hell even the Jays can be contenders next year with all the young talent coming up. That new pitching core is looking ELITE.

If the rays catcher would’ve framed some pitches you have to think this game wouldn’t have ended with the blue jays on top.
Jacob Felsing that was the worst effort of framing by a catch I’ve ever seen
