      Nah, it started long before that. Parra got the ball rolling with his shenanigans. Once the morale of the team improved EVERYTHING changed. There was a noticeable difference in their gameplay from day to day, and the overall attitude of the team.

      ken g Super Bowl had a clock. 28-3 I think the score was... a moment just as magical if not more because it was the Super Bowl. SJ Sharks down 3-0 with 10 minutes left. Score 4 goals... in the playoffs. Don’t act like only great stuff happens with no clock.

But when it'S towards the end of the game, baseball does lend itself, more so than the other sports, to having MAGICAL MOMENTS because it is the sport where the clock NEVER RUNS OUT.

    As dumb as it may sound, I think this Nats lineup is one of the greatest lineups in MLB history. If you watch them play every day like me, you'll see that there are no soft spots. Every guy is dangerous in his own way.

    That game was special. The team “stay in the fight” motto came through that night, and came through in the playoffs.
    All the way to World Series champs. I still get goosebumps watching the replay, knowing the outcome already

    This was really revenge for the Mets massive comeback the year before. But in retrospect, what a great nationals team. Robles, turner, Rendon, Zimmerman, and Soto. And that’s just offensively. Imagine if Harper stayed? We would’ve watched that team win multiple.

      I think if Harper stayed, Nats wouldn’t have won. Harper leaving made the Nats projected as a bottom 5 team. They kind of thrived as underdogs. Barely made it in, barely won games, but consistently won when it mattered. Such a pleasure to watch

    I'm only here for Suzuki after I heard about the game. If you know him and a fan of him then you know he used to play for my Minnesota Twins. I remember watching him when I was younger and cheering for him. Way to go Suzuki. A truly great player and a heart of gold. You will always be a great player and a great person. From someone who has known you since your Twins days.

    At the 20:16 mark or so, you can see Todd Frazier, Mets 3rd baseman not even turn around. He just walks off the field lol. But the absolute best part of the video (aside from the HR obviously) is the woman at the 20:27 or so mark who caught the ball. She looks like she just won the lottery.

    I'm a lifelong Braves fan since 1991 the Nats have been our Boston Red Sox to our New York Yankkes, they been our #1 rivals for several years now, with that said this 2019 Washington Nationals club, was very easy to root for, they played the game the right way, so when they won the World Series, it didn't bother me at all, if anything else, I was happy for them that they won...

    Although this pained me as a Mets fan, as a baseball fan it highlights one of its strengths over other sports. You need to make 3 outs ... you can't run out the clock.

    To those talking about why you don’t leave until the last out, my dad is a pretty big baseball fan. He’s the kind of person who stays until the last out, unless the lead is substantial (at least six runs). He was at this game with a friend, and they left. It’s easy to want to leave when your team’s down by six going into the bottom of the ninth. Nobody could have predicted this.

      That's not even the biggest blown lead in football. The Houston Oilers blew a 35-3 lead to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card Round in 1993.

    Three and a half years down the line, and I miss this lineup like crazy. I mean, Howie, Kurt, Zim would be gone anyway, as would Asdrubal Cabrera. But every time I see Trea, Soto and Rendon in those Nats blue unis, it pains me.

    I am extremely sorry to say this but being a loyal Mets Fan is extremely demanding on your mental health.     No wonder they are the 2019 World Series Champions. They just don't give up. They continue to grind it out. They deserve to win this year's WS. A wild card entry coming back against the Brewers. Beating the Dodgers and the Astros, two of the best teams in their respective leagues. And to think they started the season 19-31 at one point. What a journey!
