I love watching your videos. I live in the midwest and while we have excellent fire fighters here, the FDNY have got their shit together. Be safe. All of you
Believe it or not although FDNY are dope and badass they're extremely arrogant and far too complacent. During our trainings one of my instructors likes to pick fun at them for the shit they do that is out of SOP and or "code" if you will
they really don't..
My father Richard Joseph Vandenberg was born in Brooklyn. He was a NYCF for 20 years. Sending protecting to all of you. Many Prayers, from Christine Vandenberg, his daughter. Latter number 117 protective angel numbers.
It's sad when you think about all those little stores destroyed. Those are not chain stores but owned by regular citizens. Their life just went up in flames.
knew you'd find a roof! nice angle and great shots. stay safe out there!
Very nice footage thnx.
My first experience with a tower ladder moving the men around to get a better angle while attacking the flames! Great job recording! And that infrared map at the end looks grim.
FDNY.....the best anywhere.
Great footage
amazing coverage of the big fire in 9 stores awesome job to all the fdny brother
I am surprised skyler or his friend were not at this fire...FDRV did a great job with all the angles. Props to the FDNY!
They arrived
Nice catch good job
Great video
😮 that's a fire ! Good job
the person spraying water out of their window 5:58 😂😂 i understand why obvi but it still looks funny
I have a good question why is there a lot of fires in tax office lately.
Surround and Drown Brothers, but Always be Safe :)
Hero’s America 🇺🇸 FDNY
Google Maps is nothing if not timely. They've already marked the businesses in the building as "temporarily closed." Temporarily, yeah sure.
Very creepy
“In a taxpayer” means occupying residential properties i believe.
The commercial properties usually are required to have working sprinkler systems.
Taxpaers are commercial-usually 1 story.
Nope on both counts.
Okay, question: What is a taxpayer? I hear the term a lot in FDNY videos. But I don't quite understand it.
Nobody anywhere works like FDNY.
They talk a lot too, but not sure if that's real-time audio though. lol
God bless FDNY
Right off the BQE, in a mainly Hasidic part of Williamsburgh.
Have you ever noticed that they keep their trucks nice and spotless and shiny but yet their hoses leak the fittings going into the trucks where they pump the water in the trucks they leak all that water underneath the could be going on the Fire
Dam what a fire
What does taxpayers mean??
A taxpayer is typically an older, single-story building with rent that typically and mostly just covers its taxes and (more importantly) its fire insurance premiums. Several taxpayers are often assembled into a parcel with the intent of constructing a larger building on its footprint.
Tax payers means in fire words is a building that have stores at the bottom and apartments above
Excerpted from the FDNY Taxpayer Bulletin:
The term originally referred to the practice of real estate investors who, while holding land for speculation, resorted to minimal investment in construction to produce income to offset the cost of taxes. These structures were usually of cheap and flimsy construction with little or no fire retarding features.
*A taxpayer building is commonly taken to mean a business structure one or two stories in height of Class 3 construction (exterior firewalls with wooden interior structural members).* Their areas vary from 20’ x 50’ to areas of whole city blocks; the most common size being approximately 100’ x 100 ‘. They can be built on one or more lots with adjoining structures of greater heights on three sides. *These buildings are usually single structures commonly sheltering from one to as many as 15 different businesses with weak non-fire resistive partitions and no fire stops in the cocklofts.*

Thanks

I'm in Scotland. Would you please explain to me is meant by Stores in a Taxpayer? Thanks.
I believe that Taxpayers are cheaply built small buildings with smallish businesses. The idea is that their rent pays the taxes until someone comes along and buys the property at an inflated price for a high rise or such, thus increasing the value of the property.
The stores are the individual stores or occupancies within the whole Bldg which is known as a Taxpayer. It’s like different apartments in a Bldg. A taxpayer is 1-2 stories tall and contain numerous stores. Like a laundromat in one a bakery in another etc..
Thanks.@@The_DuMont_Network
Thanks.@@pujo28
A Taxpayer structure has stores on the botton floor and then 2-3 storey of apartments above that.
⭐⭐⭐🌟
FDNY had a lot of fires..but I almost think they view every building or Apartment as so compartmentalized that instead of going inside pulling. Ceilings, aggressive roof opening, raking windows, they compartmentalize these fires..!!
You are incorrect.
@@brendanflynn5004can you explain your answer to this person's question. Just saying they are incorrect does not educate a person.
@@scottfarrell491 The person didn’t ask a ques. They made a statement. It was an incorrect statement. The FDNY doesn’t do what he stated.
@@brendanflynn5004 you are correct, it was not a question. I just saw a time to educate instead of just saying you're wrong.
I should have said , you're incorrect not wrong.
All those big vehicles were in the way, what the hell!
For a 5 alarm fire..so many FF walking around...surround and drown with less people
NY fire department has too many people standing around doing nothing but milking the clock
@@arlinwheeler7350 I didn't realize they were giving awards for using less personnel when you have the resources readily available at a fire. They also do an excellent job of cycling their fire fighters out and having fresh people ready to go. I don't really think anyone has the expertise to second guess how the FDNY manages their fire scenes. These buildings are all in population centers where fire spread could very easily lead to tremendous losses. Sorry but I would rather have some of them fresh than so the other guys can get a blow.
What the address and where at exactly
Lee Ave in Brooklyn. Believe Hooper is the cross street. But double check.
106 Lee Ave Brooklyn. The Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.

Chief needs to Chill Out. No one is trapped Basic fire fighting 101.
If you check the news feeds there were 10 FF and EMS injured in this fire. I do not think he needs to chill out.
Word is one of the ffs injured is in serious condition. Not verified by me.@@dmac6004
I think he knows what’s going on. Not you keyboard hero
Strange…in stores are sprinklers mandatory but not in these stores because they called different ????…..well you see how that worked out for the store owners…
