Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Şehzade Süleyman, en yakın adamı Pargalı İbrahim ile birlikte çıktığı bir avda alır kötü haberi. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim Han vefat etmiştir. Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

To all those who are saying that mahidevran should not behave like this n should compromise... They literally forget that hurrem also didn't compromise.. She never let any other women get close to suleiman.. She was exactly the same when feroza or the prinvess was in suleiman's arms.. She also used to complain to suleiman about him getting closer to those women .. She even didn't let suleiman have those gifts sent to him as gift.. The only problem is that suleiman was in love with hurrem so he beared her all the time.. Ignored her behaviour n hurrem was smart enough to get rid of all her opponents....simple
what strikes is how once everyone found out Mahidevran is pregnant Hatice and Valide were beyond happy hugging her and congratulating her ! like look at the Valide literally treating her like her own daughter! while with Hurrem it was totally different always trying to put her down and even reminding her that the child she's carrying belongs to the dynasty only and not her ! that's truly cruel they never loved and never tried to even be nice to her ! I understand why she turned into the person she is ! she had to protect herself !
Mahidevran, the queen of tears!
She was such a fool. Everything she did drove him away while Hurrem did the exact opposite. By this time even though he was with Hurrem she could’ve still had him even though he never loved her like Hurrem. Mahidevran was such a fool in this show.
I wanted to feel sorry for Mahidevran, I really did. But after what she says and does to Hürrem I cannot.
The writers really did Mahidevran dirty. Why not make her a better antagonist to Hurrem? But a lot of the audience also has blinders on. The hate she gets borders on irrational and a lot of the times is hypocritical

Mahidevran was always short sighted..nothing can make her happy

She could have won him back at any time if she could dismiss her hatred and have genuine love for him. She never could do that.
The sad thing about this scene is that you can see how happy he still is about Mahidevran, he uses beautiful words, gives her gifts...
You know, I sympathize with Mahidevran.

If it were Hurrem she will be so happy with his gift and that will encourage him to do more. But Mahidevran, no even thanks but comlains
I wonder if Mahidevran's fate would have been any different, had she given birth to another boy? Hurrem had three other sons to rely on even if she lost Mehmet. Even the hunchback Cihangir would be an "asset" to her in the absence of other sons. And of course, an intelligent and an equally clever daughter Mihrimah was a blessing to both Suleiman and Hurrem, to strengthen the bandwagon of Roxelana (aka Hurrem). Mahidevran was so thoroughly beaten in every department.
