- The sixth webinar in our series is "Motivating Individuals to Take Conservation Action" on Monday, Nov. 7, at 3 ET.
We'll have two behavior change experts joining us. Brooke Tully is a behavior change marketer who helps practitioners use behavioral insights and communication strategies to motivate action and change for the planet. Brooke will be joined by Sara Melena, a communication specialist with the NPS's Natural Resource Office of Communications, who helps parks communicate stewardship practices to park visitors.
We need more people to do more things to protect the planet. Yet, we regularly struggle with how to communicate our initiatives and calls-to-action in a way that truly engages our audiences. And it's frustrating when those messages don't get through and produce results. Brooke will explore common barriers to action, why certain motivators work better to mobilize action than others, and practical tips for activating engagement among key target audiences. Following Brooke's overview, Sara will discuss how the NPS and other conservation agencies have been implementing strategies that focus explicitly on influencing visitor behavior to encourage stewardship of park resources. Join Brooke and Sara to learn how focusing on human behavior can motivate individuals to take conservation action, which is often overlooked, but instrumental to addressing the climate change and biodiversity crises.
