Mason Bush I think it all depends on taste. I would agree with ThisisLies, they are GREAT deathcore vocalists, and Alex has insane highs and Phil insane lows. But being able to scream like you are being stabbed by 30 knives at once isn't the only thing making you a good vocalist, outside of deathcore, you know (:
he does its the same scream, he just doesn't open his mouth up as wide as he used to. plus screaming takes a toll on your voice after years of doing it, but its still the same scream

+Arik Jeppsen How about having the best extreme metal vocalist fronting the best extreme metal band? Of course, that would be Travis Ryan and Cattle Decapitation - music had never reached a point so brutal as those guys before.
They kick ass, from the perspective of someone looking only for something raw, and doesn't care if the vocalist has mastered his own art thoroughly enough to be considered a good vocalist to those more involved in the art. There truly aren't many good bands out there. If it weren't for Phil Bozeman, Whitechapel would be garbage. This song would be practically unbearable to me. It's raw and unorchestrated, things that artists need to learn to avoid.
Man its so crazy to hear this after listening to ashes to ashes. It's so awesome to hear how far Alex has come and the band as well but it's still also funny to see that it doesn't matter when you record Phil in his career he's still God tier.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm not exactly big on Chelsea Grin myself, but when this title popped up in my recommended column, I knew it was time to clear the room.
@ExplicitlyMetal Hey, glad you enjoy the lyric videos i made! Im a big fan of chelsea grin and im able to notice quite a difference between the two albums. When i first listen oblivion i thought that there was a featured singer for like 20 seconds before I realized it was Koehler, but it turned out his highs were just very different. lol.
First off, no guys this isn't about Mitch. I don't even know how he got in the convo because he isn't featured in this song. 2nd, I don't think they are Satanists but I think the song could very well potentially be about him... Personally I don't want it to be because I'm Catholic but what can a nigga do.
I remember in 2008, I stumbled across Chelsea grin and nobody had heard of them. I feel oddly proud to have followed them through for so long and see that they have become so popular. My Favorite song is still Anathema of the sick.
Phil and Alex really complement each other on this song. We all know Phil has the brutal lows and Alex has the great banshee highs and when they do them together it sounds amazing. Nearly melted my face off..
This is literally the first song I've listened to by Chelsea Grin, and my mind is completely blown by the shear fact that I've been missing out on life until now
I kicked it with you ma'fucka's when touring this album. In Cleveland. My dude Neill pissed on a car from the second floor where the hotel rooms were. Next to Through the Eyes of the Dead, and Tony Danza......... Fucking metal to the core. Cant wait to see you guys again. Love the new album. Jason Richardson is a beast.
so even before this album came out, i was judging the album just based on the title track. i was thinking "oh his highs suck and his lows are mediocre". and i thought that chelsea grin was gonna start going downhill from there. im glad that i actually sat down to listen to the album track by track. it changed my thought in an instant! this is easily the best album of 2011!! great job chelsea grin:D
I do not do this at all. But I hope this comment get's rated up high. So maybe there is a chance that Alex will see this. DON'T STOP THESE VOCALS! They are so tight. They make you sound like you're ready to tear out someone still beating heart. Not to mention they are a million times easier to understand, making the songs more fun to listen to. Just keep mixing it up. I'm always going to be looking forward to a new Chelsea Grin album now just from the diversity show between the two albums.
Alex is like the king of highs and Phil is like the king of lows
Two kings in one song :D
of Deathcore maybe. There are Metal vocalists that stomp both of them
Mason Bush
I LOVE COREY TAYLOR SLIPKNOT AND STONE SOUR FOR EVER \M/!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why I do OperaCore, Nothing like being stabbed 30 times and sounding beautiful at the same time.
When they layer Alex's Highs with Phil's Lows, its the most brutal thing ever, I love it.
I totally fuckin agree man! exactly why its one of my top ten all time songs so brutal
It sounds good af live too when they do duals
Alexander Simmons Not that brutal but sure sick. Phils lows are sweet.
Still one of the best deathcore songs I've ever heard
he does its the same scream, he just doesn't open his mouth up as wide as he used to. plus screaming takes a toll on your voice after years of doing it, but its still the same scream
yeah i heard things about what happened to his vocals to, but its still the same scream
Raging banana- Destiny-Elder Scrolls-Fallout What happened to his vocals?
DIUUA no he didn't
with phil doing vocals in this song mixed with alex's vocals is like heaven for me! thumbs up if you agree!
Deathcore masterpiece
Jimmy Jon Neutron agree
Step one: Listen to CG for a whole decade now.
Step two: Alex leaves the band

Melodic deathcore song
Man this song gives me goosebumps.
Truly the most brutal thing I have ever heard. Even to this day, I still get chills.
+Kris Elkins I don't think anything could match the brutality of getting the top deathcore vocalists together in one song. \m/ I love it
+Arik Jeppsen How about having the best extreme metal vocalist fronting the best extreme metal band? Of course, that would be Travis Ryan and Cattle Decapitation - music had never reached a point so brutal as those guys before.
***** Forgive me, I meant brutal, while having vocal clarity.
Vocal clarity is a big deal, my problem is that I acknowledge talent.
Probably the best song on the album in my opinion.
0:43 Oh goood, that breakdown
This is one of the most badass songs I've ever heard in my entire life, and forever will it be.
this song should get way more attention. its fucking phil and alex on the same track... come on people
Pretty much as Brutal as it gets, two beast vocalists!
Man its so crazy to hear this after listening to ashes to ashes. It's so awesome to hear how far Alex has come and the band as well but it's still also funny to see that it doesn't matter when you record Phil in his career he's still God tier.
this.. has exceeded my expectations... thank you random person on facebook for the glorious music
This needs to be longer :'(
I know exactly what you mean. I'm not exactly big on Chelsea Grin myself, but when this title popped up in my recommended column, I knew it was time to clear the room.
Phil Bozeman
chelsea grin is literally the best band in existence
honestly Phil bozeman stole the show in this song.
He's fucking crazy. But I think they both did a fucking good duo in this song man
Anyone else have a complete eargasm because of this whole album? I sure did
Phil Bozeman comes through with epic brutality!
Am I the only one that thinks that this whole "Phil & Alex dual vocals" should become a permanent side project? Because this is absolutely amazing.
All Hail The Shining Kings of screaming
@ExplicitlyMetal Hey, glad you enjoy the lyric videos i made! Im a big fan of chelsea grin and im able to notice quite a difference between the two albums. When i first listen oblivion i thought that there was a featured singer for like 20 seconds before I realized it was Koehler, but it turned out his highs were just very different. lol.
Phill Bozeman vocals go good with any deathcore band
Even with Emmure?
@@Hola-tq4pg okay, maybe there's an exception.

Phil low growls are sick and Alex high ones are sick too
Chelsea Grin and Whitechapel should have an entire album together. THAT would be amazing.
After hearing this, I think I am actually 100 % okay with dying. I have heard everything I have ever wished to hear.
2:00 "The horseman set to make their ride, the planet too will slowly die" brutal af and the way he screams it is killer.

Probably one of the gnarliest songs ever made
First off, no guys this isn't about Mitch. I don't even know how he got in the convo because he isn't featured in this song. 2nd, I don't think they are Satanists but I think the song could very well potentially be about him... Phil did a song with Mitch Lucker?
This song is an eargasm.
I remember in 2008, I stumbled across Chelsea grin and nobody had heard of them. I feel oddly proud to have followed them through for so long and see that they have become so popular. My Favorite song is still Anathema of the sick.
Two of my favorite bands together is amazing.
Phil and Alex should do an entire album together... Anyone else agree??
chelsea grin ...u make my life.
this is my favorite chelsea song...... the way.... the song slowly builds up that last muted breakdown is soo good ... when its you its you hard
I get goosebumbs when Phil comes in. Never though a deathcore song could touch me so much
Every song in history just needs a little Phil Bozeman in it...
It ROCKS will always listen to Chelsea grin l8r
I love the very end of the song how it echoes listen to it
I love how Phil's first verse is "These are the darkest days of humanity"... Reminds me of Whitechapel's song "The Darkest day of Man".
But its nice of you to show your support by watching a video of them, every view counts. Good job!
Phil and Alex really complement each other on this song. We all know Phil has the brutal lows and Alex has the great banshee highs and when they do them together it sounds amazing. Nearly melted my face off..
Two of my favorite vocalists together :33
cant wait to get my licence and blast this through the town...
This is literally the first song I've listened to by Chelsea Grin, and my mind is completely blown by the shear fact that I've been missing out on life until now
Damn! Song gives me goosebumps every time. Philbo gets so nasty in this song! Pure Brutality!
I love the growls of Phil Bozeman
Badass. I always wondered what it would sound like if these two bands did a collab. It's just as awesome as I expected.
Alex's highs make my skin crawl. Damn.
Did anyone else get cold chills?
If Phil ever loses his lows, I will seriously cry.
So happy that I met Phil at Warped Tour 2010. Got to meet my favorite vocalist. :D
Thank God
gotta love the mix of Phil's Low pitch vocals and Alex' high pitches!
Phil makes everything epic.
Probably the darkest sounding song I ever heard. AMAZING!
this deserves a like
the perfection
