FUCKING THANK YOU... ugh i hate people. i don't like every band in the genre... because genre is a way of saying limitations/boarders/rules ... i didn't get into white chapel because of a "scene" or "technique of the music" ... i got into it cause it was what i wanted at the moment. Amon Amarth is my favorite band, but sometimes a fucking song about vikings isn't going to do it.. i need some Exile, or Murder Sermon... thank you for having a brain that seems to fire on 3 cylinders more than most arguing here.
grindcore and deathcore * slight cringe * are completely unrelated grindcore emerged in the mid to late eighties along side death metal and 2nd wave black metal grindcore fuses elements of old school death meta with crossover thrash, thrash metal, hardcore punk and maybe a few other stray influences bands like the lyrics are extremely though provoking and premote intelligence and are strongly grounded in politics, humanity society inner conflict the music its self is extremely harsh, abrasive, abrupt and chaotic the is an extreme amount of distortion to be found in grindcore and a strong emphasis on blast beats fast riffing pioneers and bands such as : napalm death, repulsion, insect warfare, rotten sound, nasum, agoraphobic nosebleed, exhumed, wormrot, margudergrind, pig destroyer, fuck the facts, brutal truth the kill etc (some of those were deathgrind)
ikr. fanbois gotta defend even when their wrong cuz reasons. this is music not politics. if a band makes a shitty song, it's a shitty song. when you kill it in the industry and then release subpar stuff, why would we act like it's not crap? Got djared dines over there on that video defending them too- He's got a point, 'don't complain about it' but people are calling it for what it is. See this happen all the time like with bands, Attack Attack, TDWP, even deftones, FTFD... "Let's just pretend the song/album is good because of all their other stuff is good." Whatever.
Attack Attack's debut was utter dogshit though, and modern TDWP (Zombie and onwards) is leagues better than old risecore TDWP. I can't see how anyone can defend crabcore.
Working from memory here, but this video came out at the very tail end of the MTV Headbanger's Ball broadcast era and was probably censored for actual TV broadcast. You'll find the vast majority of our videos are not censored for lyrics.
Fuck I forgot how good Whitechapel is. I mean there is no fucking band who can compare to the beautifull groovy, brutal and heavy sound with perhaps one of the greatest vocalists ever.
I really like Meshuggah too, mister internet warrior. Sorry for not pointing out I meant within the genre. Isn't awesome to just down-talk anyone who doesn't agree with you Opal? :)
I can't understand how people can listen to this and claim that it's inferior to bands like behemoth or Amon Amarth. Just listen to the quality let alone that brutal guttural
What I really don't understand is why some metalheads feel the need to comment on everything they don't like, and if someone's taste doesn't match theirs to the letter, they're automatically "posers". Like it or not, Whitechapel is metal. Deathcore is a sub genre of heavy metal. Here's some advice for you elitist, ignorant jerks out there: if you don't like the band, DONT LISTEN TO THEM OR COMMENT HATEFUL THINGS ABOUT THEM. Just ignore it, it's honestly that simple. You're just too narrow minded and biased to realize it. Sincerely- A Fan of Deathcore and Metal in General.
They was playing in the AV like 8 years ago at the vets hall, tiny venue. Grip ton of minds in there, going ham to the disgustingly fabulous sounds. Some dude in the pit swunged his fist and knocked down the chandelier and tore his hand open and he just kept dancing to his shit blood and all. Come to think of it, sounds like a disease waiting to happen.. but, it's still some brutal shit that became legendary in my home town
One of the first songs by them i was introduced to at around 10-14 yrs old 😆 never stopped listening to them since. Phil has one of the most brutal voices and now with the clean vocals one of the most beautiful melodic vocals I've ever heard. Thats my husband 😂😂😂😂 jk

I remember seeing them in 2009 when I was like 14 and I knew I was inlove. They are so good live
How... How could you censor this?!?!
that riff tho!...i remember when this came out, needless to say Whitechaps was lyf after that...😍
12 years damn. i remember the first time i watched this. got old and 2 kids now lol
Lol me too, I was I high school and thinking holy shit this music video, I wish I was this show. So sick.
It's 2021, and I still come back to this song. I fucking love Whitechapel so goddamn much.
Never watch this video. And now after 12 years here I am. I missed this Era of deathcore. But I love WC now too soo.
There is more arguing and fighting on metal band videos than any other genre. No matter what kind of metal it is. The rock community in general is truly divided.
damn every metal music video i go to i can basically predict the comments. just more metalheads trying to divide the metal community.. enjoy the fucking music or just leave lol
Still listening in 2022.
we do not care
Whitechapel-Possession
Lyrics: Eyes are glaring red with a conscious set to kill
Nostrils flared and the eyebrows parallel
Thriving on the chaos and the suffering I have caused on you all
A dispute of man and diabolical beasts
How could one cipher such a malevolent being
I am certain of humanity's demise
we are the disease that spreads amongst this filthy race
I am certain of humanity's demise
Man will inspire the words of a new era of corruption
Now that I can control the orifice of mankind
I gladly inform, you're all in a world of shit
Coprophagia would be the only solution
Open your fucking mouth and ingest what you are
Silent you will remain while I invoke my presence on your world
Urges I must satisfy again and again and again and again and again
Inside a shell festering is the mind of a bastard child
Cover the earth with the blood of this lamb
Cover the earth with the blood of this lamb
Cover the earth with the blood of this lamb
We are the disease that spreads amongst this filthy race
We are the disease that spreads amongst this filthy race
Collect the dust of the ones who have fallen to the lies
It is your last resort to a wretched memory
Take this life for granted and hold it tight
For we have you all under control because
We are the disease
We are the disease
We are the disease
We are the disease
For we have you all under control
Man will inspire the words of a new era of corruption
God damn you all
Eyes are glaring red with a conscious set to kill
Nostrils flared and the eyebrows parallel
Eyes are glaring red with a conscious set to kill
Nostrils flared and the eyebrows parallel
Eyes are glaring red with a conscious set to kill
Nostrils flared and the eyebrows parallel
Eyes are glaring red with a conscious set to kill
God damn you all
La letra en español sera algo de muerte pero esta buenisimo
2:12 still gives me goosebumps...from how true the lyrics are and the guitar riff! Ugh I miss blasting this in headphones while walking the halls in HS
You people getting all technical with your metal sub genres lol "this band sucks cause they are deathcore/grindcore blah blah etc......." just shut the fuck up and enjoy metal!!! This band aint that bad, if you don't lke them, there is search bar at the top, look for something else \\m//
for real like what the fuck is grindcore xD
thankyou man, I mean what are all these haters even watching this for, if they are just going to leave bad comments.its stupid
exactly!!!! its like going to burger king, ordering food then complaining about how terrible it is while eating it in restaurant lol
Just watched "The Elitest Ones" video. The new stuff is okay, but no where near as great as this.
Thats why im here hhah i checked it out and was like nah and scrolled through some nostalgia to feel like i was listening to whitechapel again
the golden age of deathcore :'(
I agree
ikr. fanbois gotta defend even when their wrong cuz reasons.
this is music not politics.
if a band makes a shitty song, it's a shitty song.
when you kill it in the industry and then release subpar stuff, why would we act like it's not crap?
Got djared dines over there on that video defending them too-
He's got a point, 'don't complain about it'
but people are calling it for what it is.
See this happen all the time like with bands, Attack Attack, TDWP, even deftones, FTFD...
"Let's just pretend the song/album is good because of all their other stuff is good."
Whatever.
Attack Attack's debut was utter dogshit though, and modern TDWP (Zombie and onwards) is leagues better than old risecore TDWP. I can't see how anyone can defend crabcore.
I love that ending riff they use!Great song!
Bumping this since 7th grade. Now I'm seeing them this December 🖤
Just came here after listening to the new single orphan. Talk about growing diverse . Who would have thought
2:10. Riffs are just Art🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
2:44 probably the best thing I’ve ever heard
2023 and still the greatest vocalist of all time
1:28 AGAIN ANAKIN ANAKIN AND AGAIN ANAKIN!!!
+Devin Hence again and again and again and again -_-
+Draden Merenox bro just a little misheard lyrics im not serios lol
HEY THANKS METAL BLADE FOR CENSORING THE SWEAR WORDS, LIKE YEAH MAN WHO WANTS PROFANITY IN ////////DEATH///////// METAL ANYWAYS??
Working from memory here, but this video came out at the very tail end of the MTV Headbanger's Ball broadcast era and was probably censored for actual TV broadcast. You'll find the vast majority of our videos are not censored for lyrics.
Pixon Unlimited fucking wrecked^ lmaoo
Metal Blade Records such a classy response 😂
fuckin wrecked me lmao
They could have sworn at him, but they didn't. They showed an amazing display of self censorship
Fuck I forgot how good Whitechapel is. I mean there is no fucking band who can compare to the beautifull groovy, brutal and heavy sound with perhaps one of the greatest vocalists ever.
Phil truly is a fucking amazing vocalist. One of my favorites is his performance at the Mitch Lucker memorial show...was so good.
Meshuggah laughs at your feeble mind.
I really like Meshuggah too, mister internet warrior. Sorry for not pointing out I meant within the genre. Isn't awesome to just down-talk anyone who doesn't agree with you Opal? :)
Love coming back after years.
I heard this for the first time when I was 13 after turning on headbangers ball. I’m 25 now and this song/album still holds up
Nostalgia brought me here
I can't understand how people can listen to this and claim that it's inferior to bands like behemoth or Amon Amarth. Just listen to the quality let alone that brutal guttural
favorite whitechapel song. was my favorite years ago, still my favorite now
So many people have no idea how much talent and effort goes into those vocals
"COVER THE EARTH WITH THE BLOOD OF THIS LAMB!!" ♡
Charlie Queen "elitist"
Anyone Still Playing This Masterpiece In 2024?.
Still love this song in 2021 🤘
Still here 2024 mf
They was playing in the AV like 8 years ago at the vets hall, tiny venue. Grip ton of minds in there, going ham to the disgustingly fabulous sounds. Some dude in the pit swunged his fist and knocked down the chandelier and tore his hand open and he just kept dancing to his shit blood and all. Come to think of it, sounds like a disease waiting to happen.. but, it's still some brutal shit that became legendary in my home town
my favourite song of whitechapel, too many different heavy riffs
I remember listening to this loud as fuck in my truck again and again and again and again and again!
Again and again and again and againnnn
💪😤
One of the first songs by them i was introduced to at around 10-14 yrs old 😆 never stopped listening to them since. Phil has one of the most brutal voices and now with the clean vocals one of the most beautiful melodic vocals I've ever heard. Thats my husband 😂😂😂😂 jk
0:10 Face phil bozeman ❤😂🤘
"If you don't listen to White Chapel... i dont know, i dont know what to say about you." lol #priceless
Still a banger
2:13 GOOSEBUMPS
some of us understand that this is art, true art. not only does it surpass the norm, but it transcends the understanding of sheep, it takes a true human to understand the nature of this song
Love Whitechapel :')
