Cory, with Dean, is fish nerd royalty. IMO these types of videos, or when you are in Dean's fish room, are just great. Personally I'd love to see Cory and Dean visit some fish rooms together of other top breeders, and get the interaction between all 3 guys. I really think you guys should do some project together, maybe a breeding project with some Apisto species or something somewhat rare, but cool. I know you both work so that's probably not easy but it's just really TH-cam magic when you guys do vids together. Great video guys!
I'm an absolute Dean fanboy. If there were such thing as a fish breeding apprenticeship I'd want to work with Dean and try to learn every last bit of the volumes of practical knowledge he has.

I love to take some of the smallest fish and see them grow and thrive in my aquarium. BUT what I really enjoy even more is when those fish get into breeding successfully...

Hi Dean. In case of green water: Just take a jarrglas full of tank water, set it on the sunnyest window u have and in 3 days u have plenty of greenwater...u can split it in half( two jarrs) refill, wait another 2.3 days and u have 2 full of so easy.

I just started to spawn my two bettas. So far it's going great. Doing it in my 7 gallon planted cube

Guys after a while when the leaf sinks, I like to attach it to a suction cup that's used for holding airline tubing in place and have the leaf fixed at the top of the tank

It’s amazing that he had her story because I have a similar one with an albino Cory baby. It was only three months but it was only a baby, I sold my Cories and didn’t realize that had laid eggs so one little baby survived.

I have Long Fin White Clouds in my subtropical tank (70 F) thanks to Cory and Rachel!
When I breed them in a tube or bucket. I use a clear plastic cut it to a rectangle 3x4, so you can see the eggs if they spawn.

One of my favorites to breed
I breed mine with a piece of bubble wrap and place the catappa leaf on the bubble wrap. I have also found that the bubbles in the bubble wrap trick him into thinking there is already a nest to build on and maintain.
Danio is the easiest egglayer. The fry is quite rugged even if theyre quite small. I manage to build my line of longfin golden leopard danio within 1 year of only having some longfin zebra, yellow zebra and leopard danio. Theyre prolific breeders.

Iv been trying to breed my Apistogrammas iv had 5 spawns from them but the fry keep fungusing and then they die do you no what I’m doing wrong keep up the grate work can’t wait for next time you do one I love catching up on a Thursday love from the uk

Could you review the top fin bettaflo tranquil? I've seen it, it has 3 "tanks" for bettas, but they seem tiny. It looks somewhat similar to the the aqueon betta falls. I'm curious if you have a similar opinion.

It's an interesting idea that black fish are more aggressive, my Neolamprolagus occalatus gold turn black when agitated. Could be something in that.
Spirulina would work as well.

My superchat question didn't get brought up but I was wondering what fish you would recommend as a tank mate for my 6 german blue rams, that mostly swim at the top? Want them to be a cool/unique fish, small and schooling. I currently keep the temp at 84, ph is 7, and I have soft water about 50ppm. Also have a bristlenose and about 10 shrimp. Tried serpae tetras but they didn't swim at the top and fought with the gbr's. Any recommendations?
I would do some hatchet fish.

Hey, Cory. You said in one of your previous podcasts that glas aquariums would get their stability via their edges while acryl aquariums would get it via their bottom. I am talking about that with some people on Facebook now and they tell me they never heard of that before and that it wouldn't be true. I myself can not explain the physics in that. Could you give me/us some information about that?
It’s the way the aquariums are designed. Look at aquarium stands for example. Only supported around the rim and the weight transfer goes down in the corners. If you make a rimless glass tank they are designed to be fully supported like an acrylic tank.
Imagine surviving 14 months in a freezing cold, pitch black tank with very minimal food. Only to be rescued and flushed down the toilet 😂

First time I did bettas, I counted on about 10 making it. My female laid 127 eggs and 124 babies survived 🙄 everyone I knew got a betta for xmas.

Paul Cuffaro _might_ be earnest, but frankly I think he does what he wants without really thinking about long-term. He's a bit careless about what he puts together and in what gallonage. That's just my opinion.
