I use a heater holder with the tube off of a sponge filter. I put the plant into the filter tube ,fill around it with filter floss. Attach that to the heater holder then stick that to the glass. Thanks guys
Just a bit of trivia, Mangrove pods are called propagules because unlike most other plants' seeds, mangrove propagules germinate while still on the tree! This is an adaptation that helps then to grow rapidly upon falling to the soil below once they are ripe, I wish we could buy them like that here in Australia.
It is always so much fun to see Dean,Jimmy and you together Cory!! How wonderful to see so many of the fish that y'all collected doing so well in your loving hands!! "But I ordered a thousand 😂" Love you guys bunches and I'm so excited to have been able to be blessed with one of the gift cards you guys donated(@Terry's tropical tanks🙏) and I was sent another one by a friend 😳😁😭❤️🙏 I hope everyone at the Co-op has a blessed Sunday and always thank you for sharing some incredible fish and all the great things that the Co-op offers all of us!!🙏🌿🐟🌿💚
MD did that with some peace lilies and minstera plants last year. That wire works great for that sort of application. And it helps the tanks out so much.
Looking good! Once I put a couple stems of a pathos into a tank while the rest of the plant was potted nearby. A year later the whole office looked like Jumanji. The leaves were enormous and the stems fastened themselves to all the walls
The fish room looks better each video I see if it! Excited to see more green in there too 💚 I have a large pothos vine that used to grow out of my tank, but I couldn’t keep the submerged plants going since the vine was so greedy for nutrients. I put it in water in a glass vase container that hangs on the wall just above the tank, so I still get the jungle feel, but the plants inside the aquarium get enough to eat too. A squirt of easy green goes into the pothos water each week and it’s still growing like mad 🌿
Maybe for the mangroves you had in the specimen box @ 8:30 ….. You could possibly try to DIY something like the Fluval hang on breeder boxes that actually have tank water flowing through them by use of an air pump.
I really like that betta light. It is great to see all you guys together. The camaraderie is fantastic. An idea that I employ is growing plants in the Finnex (now Fluval) breeder boxes. They work on either a water pump or an airline-to-pump connection so water is constantly slowly flowing into, through and out of the box. You don't have to worry about plants getting uprooted by fish & mud going everywhere. The plants also grow up & out of the breeder boxes so it gives them more oxygen from the air. It is a great duckweed management corral. The best part is that it hooks onto the side of the tank instead of using flimsy suction cups.
Cut up the pothos and put it in all your tanks to grow roots! test it completely submerged too as it adjusts to life entirely underwater. It was my main jungle aquascape plant making great long roots.
I've actually grown Pothos in my aquarium for my fish. My last one got so big I had to take it out of the tank and put a new start in. The lucky bamboo does well too.
I've used mangroves for years. I would use them in a lot of my harder to manage tanks. When they get too big for the aquariums, I'd sell them off. I also bought them in bulk, usually 30-50 at a time. when they were small. I also put them in my overflows and sump tanks. They help manage the water quality very well. Oh and to keep nibbiliers off... I used buckets with craft fabric glued over the holes and the roots stuck in a bit of rocks
Plant wire awesome in garden for tomatoes and peppers. Never thought of using to stabilize tank plants. Thank you for the tip. I do use water change water from our tanks in the gardens and on flowers and houseplants. Not strong fertilizer but great fertilizer for free. Love houseplant idea. Not sure my husband would like off tank
Those mangroves seedlings needs a high quality light in order to grow fine, I say that cuz I live close to mangrove's area and I know very well it's environment. And the amount of salt in the water plays a big role as well.
Deano... Deano... Deano!!!! 🥳 ⛄🎄☃️🎄⛄🎄☃️ I use the same wire for my mounts on my mini orchids. Great hanger wire. 👍 My pothos is going across my ceiling using fishing line... It doesn't show that much, but holds plant nicely. 🌿🍃
Referering to the house plants! The cord method for wicking up water that Dean mentioned would work really well with a semi hydroponic substrate called PON! Although i wouldn’t switch your Pothos as its already so well established as it is! But any new plants you want behind the tanks this would work well☺️ from a katy a friendly house plant enthusiast🤩
I see you with Papyrus around a large stone corner pond for the Chalceus et al with a glass front, waist high; with a waterfall with small rock pool sections for ferns, mangroves and moss. Papyrus should grow fast enough for you to sell and be great at filtering water.
The pothos plant looks great in the fish room Cory. Those mangroves will take off as well. I’d like to get some for my reef tanks. Love the betta sign as well. 👌
You should be able to run airline tubing filled with water between the specimen container and the tank, like a reverse siphon. It should autofill as long as it's weighed down on both sides and doesn't run dry.
That’s the biggest pathos I’ve ever seen. Looks amazing up on wall already. Cathy wait to see that thing just co crazy with all the nutrients. Love just chilling with you and dean.
Me and my friend have a pothos plant that has roots in the aquarium and actual leaves in the water as well! And the pothos is making new leaves under water!!
I love that you have your own personal little fish farm 😍. If I had the space and additional resources I totally would because you get to keep breed and enjoy whatever you like and the whole space is just turning into a nice peaceful area.
@@johnwood738 You were definitely on the nice list!🙌❤️ ! I must have been too because Terry from Terry's tropical tanks in the fish fam donated me a gift card from the Co-op!! I've got pathos in almost everyone of my tanks, hornwort too. I end up composting tons of hornwort almost every week, but it's so beneficial I don't mind. Easy Green works magic on houseplants too. The betta sign is epic. That pathos is a monster, but man it looks great in your fish room. Your fishroom is turning into the perfect zen den. 👍❤👍
I loved the mangrove part of the video, very interesting! I see mangrove pods floating while kayaking around Florida all the time! They grow in all sorts of different angles, seems like a kill proof plant lol
Corey and Dean the dream team!!! Love watching all these videos great ideas keep up the good work guys Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to all of aquarium co-op team
You should buy some monsters deliciosa for the fish room. Awesome plant that will eventually make runners and it secretes excess water if it is watered heavily. You can take the runners and put them in the totes for an added effect to the tanks.
I grow Pothos directly in my 70 gallon with roots dangling and Riccia fluitans growing attached onto the roots. The biggest issue is that it gets gigantic and has to be cut back before it eats the wood walls. I've had huge leaves ten inches long. I thought the brown shrimp were males and the bright red were females. I guess I'm mistaken.
I got prescribed Azithromycin yesterday, and spent most of today thinking "why is that name so familiar" and when Cory said it around 6:00 felt my head spin for a second. Not where I was expecting to have known it from but DEFINITELY why I recognized the drug name!
i've tried red mangroves in my turtle stock tank several times, they generally get to 6 or 8 leaves and then will start to die without ferts, i would suggest trying to plant them in substrate with fert tabs, any damage to the rootlets will lead to problems so make sure they are under your substrate and protected
i have plants growing out of the HOB breeder box. I always thought Mangrove only grew in salt. I guess i could buy ones sold at big box store and grow it in my HOB? for the Pothos, you should get a net to hang

I want to go eat some shrimp 🍤
Hey Cory, do you guys ship stuff like your brine shrimp and nano air pump “stuff like that” to Canada yet? 🤷🏻♂️
*Those mangroves are going to look really good over the years. I want some for my reef aquariums. 🌱*
Your tanks are awesome Dan, love your content 👍🏽👏🏽
Google says they smell like rotten eggs for a few months a year. Uh oh.
I love hanging out with Dean and the Boys. Always knowledgeable and great laughs 😁

You can dip those pothos vines in the stock tanks they’re passing over and the nodes will root into the tank! More places to feed from 🌱 🐟
Can you put pothos in a fish tank
@@philiptv3348 yes, but not the leaves.

I have used cone worm feeders to hold mangroves. As they grow you can slowly move them down. They are easy enough to cut off over time.
The pathos and mangroves is a great idea! The fishroom is looking better and better.
The start of your mangrove forest!!! Bucket list ✅!!
draping the pothos over all the ponds will look so badass
I love fishroom updates. They're my favorite videos. Thanks Cory and Dean!
Another good way to grow plants off the back of your tank is use the fluval breeder box that it pumps water in and out of it and back into your tank
A hang on back filter works very well also.
