- The 2019 Toyota CHR was recently updated for the Malaysian market with revised features and styling. Unfortunately, the C-HR is slapped on with a hefty price tag of RM 150,000 due to its fully imported origins.
However, there are buyers who are still willing to splurge on one. So we want to find out what's so great about the Toyota C-HR in this review and see whether is it worth buying one.

MAZDA CX-30 is much better value than this car, practility, interior quality or performance wise. 🏎🏎🏎
But it would drive as could and last as long and eat more fuel than any TOYOTA

one of the actual reason is it looks a little like the lexus suv. upper class for the price. RM140,000 during this tax free period made me think twice to reconsider on this car. :D

Whats the differences between 1.8 and 2.0L? Unless u are a petroleum king why ask for bigger capacity when u can save a little more
yangerek deone the 1.8 is the old ZR engine derived from the Corolla line, while the 2.0 is the new dynamic force family engine which is more powerful (around 170hp vs 140hp) and more efficient.

@@lorenzoo213 honestly, every proton can overtook any Toyotas of pre-TNGA era be it Vios, Corollas or Camries due to better handling and cornering ability (albeit you need to rev really hard lah). However, I do agree that UMW really need to get their ass together by introducing new engines lineup for Malaysian market. Paying 200k for a Camry with old 2.5L + 6AT doesn't make sense when our neighbors (Thai and Sing) get a new DF 2.5L with 8AT combo, even CH-R comes with a 1.2T and hybrid is available there while we are in the middle here stuck with almost 10 years old engine lineup.
drives great but the noisy cabin is a letdown. recent toyotas seems to have sacrificed nvh for handling while honda has improved greatly on cabin noise
We think the NVH of the C-HR is up to par, better than the Honda CR-V in fact 🤔
One of the worst car you can buy.
1. Price, why pay so much just for corolla Cross?
2. It's too small inside.
3. It drive like cheap corolla and the cabin is not comfortable.
4. It look ugly outside like juke.
5. Every one think you have poor taste driving it.
6. It drop value just like corolla cross. Expensive buy expensive sale.

150k, will.topup abit to get fortuner standard spec, and i get.7seater, more bootspace, more tallride, more powerful and fuel economy diesel engine, a 4wd drivetrain rear aircon vent, rear handle, .and i might lost 7airbag instead 3airbags, no.electric parking brake, no autohold, no.TNGA, no rear double wishbone, no.blindspot

Instead of Fortuner you better get Hilux Revo at 90k. Target market is made for uncles. People like CHR for its millennium design! Performance most likely the same, you purchasing Toyota not a Lamborghini.

In Thailand CHR got LED projector...but in Malaysia still halogen

Thailand only has the led projector on the hybrid models. The normal 1.8 has the halogen like malaysia.
Sat in a colleague's CH-R hybrid before, NVH is good, drive is smooth and built quality is nice however rear passenger space is literally one word 'catastrophic'. 3 adults sitting behind is simply touching shoulders to shoulders.

It's the most "honda" design made by Toyota, especially its name "CHR" somilar to CRV / HRV 😂
I was aiming for corolla or this but this i might as well get a crv for that price bigger suv, but then i prefer a car which is a decent size a corolla is the best choice for me as i am a single phtographer/ student which need a bigger car to carry equipment .
Better wait for the new Kia K5 2.5T GT or Hyundai Sonata N-Line.

Somehow toyota is losing its touch on interior ergonomics and contemporary stylistics. The steering wheel just doesnt look sporty nor posh at all .exterior wise...ok la....

If you look at this car as a collector and as an iconic car then its good BUT if you look at this car as a Toyota, then you shouldnt buy this car bcz most likely you wont able to afford it.

Simple answer, not worth, it is a cheap crossover(same as hrv lower grade than civic 1.8) at oversea
learn to say a no la adrian. you can't possibly say yes or maybe when it concerns rm 150k when u can get a hr v with equal or better price or quality.
