    Row 1: sc in the 4th ch from the hook
    ch1
    skip 1 chain, sc in the next chain, ch1
    repeat to end of chain- last stitch should be a sc
    ch2 and turn
    Row 2: sc in the 1st ch1 space
    ch 1
    repeat in the ch1 spaces to the end
    ch2 and turn

    I'm going to try this moss stitch again as it's been a very long time since I've done it. Thanks for this tutorial too! Oh, I've never tried "I Love This Cotton".. I've always wanted to, but definitely have to get some.

    Made one and I love it. I need to try the yarn you recommend. I want it to be softer. Thank you and this will be my go to pattern.

    Also making baby washcloth with "Willow Farmhouse" cotton. Tiny stitches #4 needle . Variegated toutquise and dove gray colors. Very handsome. TY for tutorials. 🌞🙏

    Just found this video. Love it! My son and his wife are having their first child so I'm going to start making these baby washcloths. Don't know the sex yet so working with yellow variegated yarn. Thx

    While you need some texture in a facecloth, what smoother tight stitch could I use for someone with delicate skin? Would Moss stitch meet that criteria? I assume a cotton would be ideal but maybe going down to #3 weight would be better for soft skin???

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz
      @BohoJouelSandraMBelz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the texture seems too much, you could always try a simple basic stitch, or look for a really soft cotton yarn. ☺ Making the stitch smaller might make it more stiff, so using a lighter weight yarn would help there- but definitely experiment and see what works best!

    Ending the first foundation row, I noticed that you said Chain 1 and 2....but you actually chained 3...I watched it in slow motion...

      The 1st loop that you counted was to finish the last stitch of the 1st row ☺ Then you chain 2 more.

    I love the washcloth stich, it's great for me because of how my hands shake 🙃.
    My son and daughter-in-law are expecting ♊ twins 😊. I love to buy a nice price of fennel and crochet a border on the outside. Do you have any ideas that might be different?
    They are having a boy & girl🎉.

      I'm sorry I must not have been clear, I buy a yard of flannel and make a blanket. I was wondering if you might have a border I could crochet around the outside of the fabric?

      @DawnPierce-bp7gn Oh I see! I have a tutorial for a shell border stitch. This might work if you can sew it to the edges of the blanket? th-cam.com/video/ZRXPmohhiiM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Fo7gw1DpEf9V6_mZ

      At the very end you will finish your last stitch, then pull your yarn through 1 more loop completely to create a knot to secure everything. ☺

    Can you use peaches n cream yarn for this.

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz
      @BohoJouelSandraMBelz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes for sure. It's a bit rougher in texture, so maybe not for a baby gift. But the pattern for sure maybe for an adult washcloth or dishcloth

    I'm a little confused on one thing - in the video you said ch an even number then add 4 more chains.. in the written directions it says to just ch an even number. Does not mention adding 4 ch's. Also, when threading your needle, I find that if you fold the yarn over, flatten the folded part between your thumb and index finger, (the heat from your fingers will flatten it a bit) then thread your needle... You won't have that problem of the end if yarn splitting.. much faster. Depends on how big the eye of the needle is of course... Your needle seems to have a very small eye. Mine is a bit bigger [not super big for like chunky yarns, but just the right size for a #4 wt yarn]💜💜

      Thanks for the tip I will try it! The chain 4 more is just a suggestion because you sort of lose the last 4 chains by skipping into the 1st row stitch. So if you want something about the size of a 20 chain for example, make it 24 so you get the finished length you want. 😉 I realized that when I tried to make a dishcloth w/a 24 chain & it turned out a good bit smaller than my single crochet dish cloth.

      For sure! Love that idea. I would definitely still use a super soft yarn. I have a waffle stitch video that I will link in the comments for reference.

    What size is a good size for a baby wash clothes

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz
      @BohoJouelSandraMBelz  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Standard washcloths are usually around 12"x12", so that would work, or you could make it smaller for babies (maybe 10x10"). Honestly, whatever you like! 😊

    How many chain one spaces? The same as starting chains?

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz
      @BohoJouelSandraMBelz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. So you will create 15 stitches on each row. That is part of what confused me when I saw the original pattern. It seems like it would be uneven because of the skipping.

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz
      @BohoJouelSandraMBelz  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just keep in mind that you will skip the 1st 4 chains in the starting row.

    • @BohoJouelSandraMBelz

    I think I have used this stitch on a kitchen towel. I will use it for baby wash cloths and maybe even a baby towel if I can figure out a size.
