    As a self taught crocher the slip stich was at one time rather difficult for me. However; thank you so very much for showing is each move with yarn n hook at a slow pace, much better way to learn . Everyone else moves way to fast and that's just discouraging in a way.

    Is there different versions of moss stitch? as this is what I thought it was until I saw many others saying on TH-cam moss stitch is totally different. After researching I believe yours is the Even Moss Stitch not Moss Stitch.

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure there are multiple versions of the moss stitch. I know one version is using the single crochet and slip stitch. Maybe that’s the version you were thinking about?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! You should be working in both loops of the stitch. Keeping your stitches a little more loose will help as well as sometimes the slip stitches can be tricky. Hope that helps!

      @@AmandaCrochetsthe Half Double results in what looks like THREE loops (front, top, and back). Only two of them are the real ones though. The top one is obvious, so she’s asking which *other* one goes with it. The answer is the BACK one. So the top + back are the two loops that the hook goes in.

      @@hbogielski I really like dishie yarn a lot! I’m not a huge fan of the sugar and cream yarn either. My go to cotton yarn is the hobby lobby I love this cotton, but dishie is probably second. For the 24/7 cotton, I personally wasn’t a huge fan. It wasn’t bad to work with, but I just didn’t care for it. It felt a little too stiff to me, so I wouldn’t use it for a washcloth. Im still new with crochet and for the life of me I can not get them to come out the same length and width. Please let me know. Im a tight crocheter does it have to do with my dishcloth not coming out the same length and width each time?!

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your tension definitely plays a part. I suggest going up a hook size and trying to keep your stitches loose. That should help a little with getting your project the size you want. Over time, and with practice, your tension should ease up a bit. When I first learned how to crochet, my stitches were so tight that I couldn’t insert my hook. Is it soft enough for a face cloth?

      This yarn is a little too stiff for a face cloth, at least in my opinion.

    I have been crocheting for about 40 years and this isn't like any Moss stitch that I've ever seen. I learned it as sc skip a ch... all the way across on the first row and the sc in each chain space the rest of the rows. You can also use hdc instead of sc. I don't want to offend you but I also don't want people to learn the wrong stitch names. It would be very confusing. Maybe you learned it differently so maybe you can search for the moss stitch and see what I mean. It does make a lovely dish cloth. ✌🏻😻🧶

      The stitch you’re describing sounds like the linen stitch. I know with crochet there are multiple names for the same stitch, which can get a little confusing. I’ve seen this stitch done both the way you mentioned and the way I show in this video 😊
