@@Hborn Sentenced in November 2020? Oh, he's definitely still alive...takes 10-12 years on Death Row with all the appeals before they're cleared to be executed. And then their lawyers fight until the very end to keep them from that gurney. Not like back in the 20s and 30s...less than a year and then that's it. One guy in Florida only spent 10 DAYS on Death Row before he rode the lightning.

A big factor is to prevent killing innocent people who end up on death row. It may take time for new evidence to emerge that vindicates them. Several innocent / possibly innocent people have been executed before.
You make it sound as if he’s in safe hands and living it up til his execution date. First off they sit in a cell for 23 hours a day with only 1 hour to either shower or go out... NO ONE communicates with them, they get food with maggots in it. I’m fairly certain the prison staff subjects them to torture, so they’re being driven mad... then they deal with that for years before being executed. You’re one of those people who probably thinks “Not guilty by reason of insanity “ is some type of get out of jail free card too 🙄
I often said that was kind of silly too that they say "time served" or death plus 30 years or something....then a guy explained to me that they do the full sentence on everything just in case something happens such as the death penalty becomes illegal in state. If the ONLY sentence that person has is death it no longer existed they would have to let him go free. ...but...if he has Death plus 30 years with time served that person would still have the 30 years to serve. Or on appeal, one thing, like his death sentence, might get overturned so you have to have the others still in place so he doesn't just walk on one technicality on one charge.

The judge chose her words very carefully..he had equal rights with everyone in the community,yet the day he decided to take two innocent lives..he forfeited those rights. If someone decided to avenge the mother and daughter he killed it'd be an endless cycle of revenge..but it is very clear that nobody can play God. His death will never heal the pain that he has inflicted on his victim's family, but in a sense 'Justice' has been served. As to his mother's tears, i made a statement , which probably looked like I was mocking her..but to be clear, like I said, I've watched it so many times and I feel her pain..I just hope she also understood the pain and anguish another family is going through..let me put it this way...would you like to think that your child can grow up to do such a thing?

I don'[t have a problem with the death penalty, especially in cases like this. But I hurt for the mother, there is no closure for her, the pain, heartache and loss are beyond imagining.
Conversely, her inadequate parenting could be the cause of the whole thing. Imagine the victim's family's tears for a sec instead.

@@Hborn Sentenced in November 2020? Oh, he's definitely still alive...takes 10-12 years on Death Row with all the appeals before they're cleared to be executed. And then their lawyers fight until the very end to keep them from that gurney. Not like back in the 20s and 30s...less than a year and then that's it. One guy in Florida only spent 10 DAYS on Death Row before he rode the lightning.

Death penalty is a JOKE! he'll sit on death row for 15+ before he's actually executed. Free food, free roof over his head, free medical help, etc. All at the cost of taxpayers while the attorneys try to overturn the sentence.

@@beerhunter2814 Idk but I guess the people on death row are constantly waiting for the day that they die so it's always on there mind. Basically I think making them wait is a punishment. But also the years they are still in jail they usually get there life right and that's when they kill them.
A big factor is to prevent killing innocent people who end up on death row. It may take time for new evidence to emerge that vindicates them. Several innocent / possibly innocent people have been executed before.
The real truth is the companies that make the lethal injection refuses to make it.
You make it sound as if he’s in safe hands and living it up til his execution date. First off they sit in a cell for 23 hours a day with only 1 hour to either shower or go out... NO ONE communicates with them, they get food with maggots in it. I’m fairly certain the prison staff subjects them to torture, so they’re being driven mad... then they deal with that for years before being executed. You’re one of those people who probably thinks “Not guilty by reason of insanity “ is some type of get out of jail free card too 🙄

I often said that was kind of silly too that they say "time served" or death plus 30 years or something....then a guy explained to me that they do the full sentence on everything just in case something happens such as the death penalty becomes illegal in state. If the ONLY sentence that person has is death it no longer existed they would have to let him go free. ...but...if he has Death plus 30 years with time served that person would still have the 30 years to serve.
Or on appeal, one thing, like his death sentence, might get overturned so you have to have the others still in place so he doesn't just walk on one technicality on one charge.

The judge chose her words very carefully..he had equal rights with everyone in the community,yet the day he decided to take two innocent lives..he forfeited those rights. If someone decided to avenge the mother and daughter he killed it'd be an endless cycle of revenge..but it is very clear that nobody can play God. His death will never heal the pain that he has inflicted on his victim's family, but in a sense 'Justice' has been served.
As to his mother's tears, i made a statement , which probably looked like I was mocking her..but to be clear, like I said, I've watched it so many times and I feel her pain..I just hope she also understood the pain and anguish another family is going through..let me put it this way...would you like to think that your child can grow up to do such a thing?
@@degambz8826 In my country we abolished the death penalty for civilians 150 years ago. After ww2 we had some military death penalties, but since 1983 that's abolished aswell. Sometimes it's hard to relate to US society.

The death penalty is clearly the hardest, but what else can be used as a deterrent for casual, senseless murders. A lot of people commit murder for the dumbest reasons. Society still needs reasonable checks and balances. For instance it OK when people lose loved ones to a serial killer/ drunk driver/ gangbanger who then gets a life sentence and is locked up with free food,TV, Gym while the Victim's family lose their sole provider and are left to suffer for the rest of their lives?
