Just discovered your channel and am enjoying your videos. Thanks for the sharing of information, too. Hoop netting brings back memories of my dad and uncles netting for buffalo, limb-lining or trot-lining for cats. That was about seventy years ago. Personally, I just fish for crappie nowadays.
Glad you found us. We love the crappie too as you can tell, but we're gonna be adding more limb lining, trotlining, etc. that's where it started as a kid. Just hate all the refs now, very frustrating
What I've figured out about fishing, is just about all spots are good at some point and time. Fish move around a lot. It's just learning when and where they are, and that just takes time to figure out.
@godscountryhuntingfishing1638 That is a good point. The skipjack are getting ready to run up here, so hopefully I can get stocked up on some bait. I'm gonna hit the fishing a little more this year so I'm gonna need a good start. Thanks for hollering back brother
Never used hoop nets before . Making my first one after watching your video. Thanks for posting them. I was going to make my hoops out of 3/8 rebar for 24" net. Then thought if I was making a net "old school " I should make wooden hoops, too. White oak is hard to find . Can you use cypress?
Tried to find what you caught in lake move when you fished the slat traps. You didn't use them for firewood did you? All I have seen is hoop nets, just asking.
I've still got slat traps, we just are not crazy about fishing them with blocks. They catch better with cheese, and I don't have any right now. They also heavier than wire nets.
Bradley im from southeast louisiana livingston parish, Ive never fished the wire nets like u do, I was wondering do u build your own wire nets or do u buy them and if u buy them where at
I built one for video, but typically buy them from a Mr John Parker in North Louisiana. He's just a local net builder we have up here. I know Ryan AnMarcella near Morgan City builds a lot of nets. He's on Facebook as well
Not much I can do for you there, other than I hope you enjoy the videos. You can always fish Louisiana , but Non resident license are rediculous priced. I'm sure Texas lakes are chock full of catfish that die of old age. I'm positive you can't catch them out. Politicians and lawmakers are most of the time very uninformed about what they actually make laws about in the name of conservation. I'm for conservation, but with common sense and knowledge of species.
I'm actually going to Jonesville this week to pick up some net materials for a new build I'll end up doing on video. See if I can hook y'all up with some of that information in an upcoming video. That said, they will assist you in helping pattern out particular nets and cut them out for you. It's part of their business and what that do for a living. Most net companies will work with you
Only way is hide it and hope for the best. If their caught, press charges. People gonna get rude awakening when law pulls up on them and the gear they stole has implanted chips in it😏
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep your videos coming please.
No problem, thanks for watching!!

That’s some good information Bradley. I imagine that will apply all over within about a month’s time depending on how far north you live.
I'd have to agree
Great information buddy. You definitely have a lot of real good fishing spots. God bless you man

White oak if you make them or hoop steel. Rebar is too heavy

Is it possible for a video on how to purchase pre made netting? I don’t really understand how they have it in the nets and more catalog.
