Elevator information: Brand/Company: OTIS Buttons: Series 1 Door type: center opening Number of elevators: 3 (there's a "fake elevator as well") Number of floors: 11 (B, 1-10) Amazing and Epic elevators in my opinion! I love Series 1's!
Ever been to the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alberta, Canada? The elevators there are super fast for just an 11-story building. Also what's interesting about the floors at that hotel is the top floor doesn't show as the 11th floor. The floors L, M1,M2, and 2 through 9. I was only there once in 2011 just for a few minutes but haven't been back there since. So I have no idea how much has changed if anything.
They have a similar setup with the Drury in Franklin, TN...except I think they're a little newer. What's weird is there's room for a 4th elevator but was walled off.
That is such a rare find! You know I wonder if the fixtures are the same, but it was upgraded to Gen2 at some point… I honestly don’t know when Gen2 was released lol… can someone tell me?
@@stlelevators Yep. I guess that explains it… but what if the service elevator does not serve floor 10? That’s the big curiosity for that “fake elevator.”
@@idl3k_elev it’s not really fake. The earliest Gen2 elevators had series 1 fixtures and i usually like to call it Gen1 since it has series 1 fixtures.
@@elevatingmetrodetroit7072 Well that's your own term that you've made, while here most of us just stick to the official term Gen2 no matter what fixtures it is using.

Gen2 with Series-1 fixtures? That's an epic treat!
Yes it is!
Probably a very early GeN2, and probably one of the last Series 1 installations? Never seen a GeN2 with Series 1 fixtures before.
These are definitely some very unique and rare elevators. It's not every day you see series 1 fixtures on an Otis Gen2.
neat that they did that.
Definitely a service where Unit A should be. That's usually what this setup signifies.
Love these early Gen2's, probably my favorite variant
I love the sound of them.
Amazing and rare! They are both OTIS Series 1 and GeN2! I have also seen some KONE elevators which are both M-Series and MonoSpace.
That's interesting. I've never seen Kone M series.
@@stlelevators They are rare in America but more common in Europe and especially Northern Europe.
I have always seen Otis GEN2 elevators with Series 4, 5, or 7, but never with Series 1. That's a pretty cool find!
I've seen another with S1 and it's here in stl: th-cam.com/video/QzxaRPMO9QM/w-d-xo.html
And I love the sound of these elevators
The old Gen2s sound great.
Great video!
Thanks!
So nice! There has to either be a service car or future expansion shaft behind the mystery doors.
It’s a service car.
WOAH. That is really weird but also really cool. I love series 1.
I've never seen this many buttons on this style of panel.
@@stlelevators me neither.

There is a 4th elevator behind there. It's the service elevator.
@@stlelevators gotcha, that's kinda a weird setup
These elevators are very nice
Yes they are!
These are definitely pretty cool, especially considering Series 1 on a Gen2 is extremely rare.

Gen2 with S1?
That is such a rare find! You know I wonder if the fixtures are the same, but it was upgraded to Gen2 at some point… I honestly don’t know when Gen2 was released lol… can someone tell me?
This was how it was installed. I've seen other gen2s with series 1.
These may have been one of the earlier versions of Gen2 as I have read the early models had Series 1 fixtures.
I believe they are. It has that "old gen2" sound to it.
some elevators (like those) make a heavy humming noise when the doors are open. what does that?
The door operator?
I w never seen Gen2s with series 1vfixtures before.
I’ve posted another in the past.
@@stlelevators Yep. Except in earlier Gen2 elevators, they don’t talk at all. This must be one of them.
What’s the intro sound name
It’s something I found online
@@stlelevators ok
These are cool. And that's interesting that they have a fake elevator as decoration.
I think there’s a service on the other side.

What exactly is the point of putting in a “fake” elevator??
To balance things out though it’s kind of silly in my opinion
I actually think that's the shaft for the service elevator. The door isn't real of course, but there is an elevator back there.
Otis Gen2 elevators with series 1 fixtures are usually known as Gen1.
Where'd you hear that from?
There's no such thing as Gen1. Who came up with that fake term?
@@stlelevators on TH-cam,there’s a video off the strong memorial hospital garage and it said it was Gen1.
