Love this channel Sifu Jason and the staff in Greenville are if not my favorite Wing Chun instruction channel. So friendly and personal. But DEFINITELY like the fact they go by principals and realistic applications. Something I 100% admire. Best wishes to the Sifus there. And continue the great work...
Excellent point about updating the arsenal. Fighters are different in my area of WV now than they would have been in the 50s. Pap says its dirtier now the way folks fight.
I love the Gum Sao step back defense for the low rushing attack. My friend who teaches Wing Chun and Hung Gar in Nebraska always said that Muk Jong was some of Wing Chun's best material. Whenever I miss one of your videos something terrible always happens, I miss out on great self-defense strategies and techniques.
I totally enjoy your teachings with humor. .I had started practicing on the dummy in my early 20's banging the hell out of it for 10 years..Then life happened and went on to different things..Now I'm back practicing again for a few years in my 60's and enjoying it again..Difference now is that I'm doing it softly and sticking to the arms more..Only hitting the body with more force at the very last second..More of an internal force..Older and wiser now...
Aaannnddd this is why we need to come together! I train in TWC in Jersey and l love it! But your ideas and philosophy are on point! I love it. Principles don't change but the techniques evolve! Yes!!👍🏾
Great lesson in realism/visualizing. Once again many moons ago when I was learning Mok Jong, I was only taught how not why. I wish I had access to one now, but I realize I would hav to start completely over (no space where I am now for one).
Reminds me of invisible kicks in wing chun in which it is very effective because the opponent does not see it coming below the line while striking and defending at the same time somewhat!! WHAT PISSES ME OFF is that why wing Chun fighters do not use their legs!!!
Just have to say that I've trained in wing chun .wing tsun .jeet cun do and ving chun.but sifu at Greenville academy is really good at pushing the true realistic goal of wing chun.i
Would love to train again however I've suffered cancer 3 times and getting old.ha ha. Ime a fan of Bruce and had the honor of using a hand ✋device to help your grip to be strong. Sifu at greendale is top.
Wing chun is great in close range where you and your opponent cannot move away from each other like a alley way or in a jail cell or bathroom small that is!! Where you cannot use boxing effectively because you are in a smothered place !! Trapping can then become useful!!
Thank u very much brother for the wooden dumdy tutorials...I bought one of the metal ones from honk Kong ....base broken in 1st month and all the paint peeled off ..so I rebuilt hole thing ...now I'm view ur free material (thanks so much) my school didn't make it past c-19...so now its you and Adam chan...do u sell ur whole series on CD? Please keep it coming...ur style of teaching ...cuts through all the bull time waisted....fantastic!! Much respect!
Sorry about your school. That stinks. Adam’s stuff is great too, by the way. As for other material on the dummy, we have a book on Amazon “Wing Chun’s Wooden Dummy” that details the form plus a video course on our Teachable website. Obviously, the book is the less expensive option but either one would be great. There should be links in the description above, by the way. Anyway, thanks for watching and the support - and sorry again about your school closing.
In fact, is people beat wooden dummy, not wooden dummy beat people. It is a sad thing to see many people feel good about themselves and do not think deeply about them.
Yes! You deserve many likes and sub, i try to like everything i can with you :D Youve been so helpful and there is nothing wrong with your humor :D I like it! Wish i could be there training with you some day. Now im gonna by your book! :) /Guy from Sweden
It has been a long time since I have worked with the wooden dummy. I have ordered the book, and plan to read the book and then enroll in the teachable section on it. My question is that a good plan?
most of the Wing Chun kicks can be done from within contact range (so long as you have control of your enemy's balance, that is). Not that you can't use them from longer distance, but we assume more close-quarter combat...even with the kicks.
There's no forms in JKD. You're peddling the "Classical Mess." Here's some philosophy for you, you cannot serve 2 masters you will either love one and hate the other (Matt 6:24).You're stuck in the 'fluid' state unable to empty yourself towards 'liberty' for the sake of hankering to WC. You're adrift in the boat without an oar. You contradict yourself by say people are stuck not adapting the dummy forms and later on you brag about the refined traditional forms that have been passed down over centuries. Wake up and WALK ON MY Friend! It takes true humility and enlightenment to do so along with the courage to face the consequences and stay the path for the truths sake.
I can't wait to start using the muk jong. Wing chun is my passion too.
Mook Jung
Agreed 👍 my Mook Jung is on the way via FedEx
Don't have our limitations exceed our capacities. That's why we train. Great wisdom, Sir
The parabolic tan in the last section. Very powerful.

I think you break this down so we can understand Amazingly well thank you 🙏

It's interesting that Wong Shun Leung dummy form is different, I don't mean different order either.
Good stuff! Thanks!

I box and do wing Chun, love to know how you resolved the two and which mistakes to avoid.
That’s a great idea and we fully plan to touch on this subject.

Awesome! Hope you like the book…and there’s probably a bad joke or two in there too. LOL
@@JKDandWingChun im sure i will!
Good! Hope there will be a few real terrible ones :)

Why are Wing Chung dummies not set at different heights? Refer to buddy the Elf in Elf being tossed about by 3 foot tall man. 🤔😻
The wall mounted dummy has an adjustable height
Bruce thought of wing chun too over simplification!!!
I practice Drunken Wing Chun, so the dummy movea a lot.
This is probably the best comment ever!!! LOL
Which range is that kick in? 😂😂😂

@@JKDandWingChun What is, "contact range?"
You're only 51?! 😛

Straight pompous. Nice speech from the pulpit there.
