I have been a bayonet collector since the 1960s, and have picked up a few trench knives along the way. I first saw reproductions of standard German WW1 patterns, together with "Demag" trench knife / bayonets, as far back as 1980.
1:42min. Yes that’s the one my grandpa gifted me 30min. ago... what a nice pice of History greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
The german trench knives are basicly two styles. One was the bayonet , especially private bought parade bayonets. The other style was the hunting knife called ,Nicker' ( Genick- neck). This type of knife was in civilian life popular especially in southern Germany. In 80s some elderly men still carried them, and in traditional ,Lederhosen' there is still a narrow knife pocket.
This was great, thanks!
Nice
