- In this video, we rank all seven actors who have portrayed James Bond and determine who is truly the best 007 of all time. From Sean Connery’s suave and ruthless charm to Daniel Craig’s gritty and emotional depth, each Bond has brought something unique to the franchise. But who stands out as the ultimate spy? Join us as we dive into the history of Bond and analyze what made each actor’s portrayal iconic-or not.
We’ll explore:
1) Sean Connery, the original Bond, who set the standard for the character with his sophistication and danger.
2) Roger Moore’s wit and humor, which brought a lighter tone to the franchise during his seven-film run.
3) Daniel Craig’s reinvention of Bond, transforming him into a gritty and emotionally complex character for the modern era.
4) Why Pierce Brosnan is often seen as the most balanced Bond, blending charm, humor, and physicality.
5) George Lazenby’s underrated performance, which brought vulnerability to Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
6) The reasons why Timothy Dalton was ahead of his time with his darker take on the character.
7) A look at David Niven’s “what if” Bond, a unique footnote in the franchise’s history.

Dalton is criminally underrated and his two films hold up today
@@jlrob85 he came too soon
Connery. Without any hesitation.
*007* Sean Connery was the greatest and the best bond James bond of all time "century's sexiest man"
#1. Sean Connery, #2. Daniel Craig, #3. Pierce Bronson
The Best 007(s)?
Definitely Sir Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, & Daniel Craig- all three presented a Serious James Bond as presented by Ian Fleming in his original novels.
Connery is Bond, everybody else was pretending.
lol 😂
For me Roger Moore and Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton are my favourite James bonds ever from then until today
I grew up with Moore so he is my favorite Bond. I enjoyed the early Connery movies, but starting with "Thunderball", Connery was tired of Bond.
1. Dalton, 2. Brosnan, 3. Craig, 4. Connery, 5. Moore, 6. Lazenby
George Lazenby: the smoothest, the most confident, athletic, and human. (And the most like 007 in real life.) The best “gunbarrel” entrance, the best fighter. Only Timothy Dalton could have handled the emotional scenes as well. I’m amazed that Lazenby could be considered “wooden,” given the performances of Moore and Brosnan; and even Connery in his last two Eon films.
By the way, his name is pronounced LAY-zen-bee; at least get that right!
Moore deserved more films like The Spy Who Loved Me
Shan Connery, Pierce Bronson, and Timmothy Dalton.
Brosnan. That took less than a second. You don't need an eleven-minute video.
- In their respective portrayals, Craig and Moore each reflected the prevailing mores and sentiments of the times (somewhat more innocent; post-9-11). One factor for the obtuse reaction - though it actually had been the highest-grossing of the quartet of Brosnan films - to Die Another Day was that it was not a proper(?) reflection of the traumatic post-9-11 period.
- I am among those who are somewhat skeptical that Tim D would have portrayed 007 in 'all the 1980s films' had he started his tenure at the start of the decade. One story (apocryphal?) claims that he had been given a chance to succeed Moore right after Moonraker but took a pass, apparently disillusioned with the direction of the series during the '70s.
- My preference: 6&7) Niven and Lazenby; 5) Craig - his memorable portrayal in CR 2006 notwithstanding; 4) Brosnan; 3) Moore; 2) Dalton; 1) Connery - his longer portrayal serving as tiebreaker.
1' 2' 4' 6' = 3' and 5' were the lamest of the bunch , sir roger bore did more damage to the franchise than Spector and the KGB
If Dalton had been better served, with better films and a longer run, he would have been the true Bond. I never bought Brosnan - he had the looks and wit, but not the physical presence. Moore deserves credit for not trying to be Connery, and Spy and Moonraker were a lot of fun. But it's early Connery for me, followed by Craig.
FYEO is one of my favorites, partially from Moore's performance, but always wished Dalton did all the 80s films. Even Octopussy and AVTAK lent themselves to serious thrillers
This is a joke. Dalton is number one.
Pierce Brosnan is the one .
Roger Moore is the best James Bond ever. Pierce Brosnan is the second best Bond.
Moore whilst maybe not the perfect Bond, was definitely still our 007 for that generation. I never recalled him worrying about a single thing. The man was class
Sean Connery is the Best
For me Pierce Brosnan and Tim Dalton. Followed by Roger Moore
Pierce Brosnan was perfect but then Die Another Day went too far…
@DrReelTV Yes but but it is still a great movie. Would have loved to have seen Pierce to have done another.
@@simonleib1992 I think Pierce left at the perfect time just like Connery did. Moore and Craig are examples of when you do one more movie too many.
@DrReelTV Yes I think you are right. Though Craig's last movie was awful. I didn't think Quantum could be bettered in that regard.
@@DrReelTV but Connery phoned in his last official performance in Diamonds Are Forever, and was bored in the one before, You Only Live Twice.
I'm a Roger Moore fan. It never bothered me that he was too old and too humourous!!!.
Grew up with Roger ❤️😉
Who was number two? 😀
I agree with the list, but with 1 change. Drop Daniel Craig down to #5 between Dalton & Lazenby. Craig's Bond just never resonated with me. In every one of his films, his Bond left the job. Bond wasn't suppose to like what he did, but he was suppose to stick around because it needed to be done. Craig's Bond found any excuse to leave MI6.
I'm sure there will be a better Bond actor coming along. There's room for improvement.
In the changing times and pressures, do you hope 007 will retain the original character?
Connery Moore Dalton and Bronsnan only 4 for me . Lazenby and Craig did nothing for me .
Roger Moore is the best.
Craig is the worst Bond ever....only Nieven was worse, mainly because of the script not his acting. Craig has nothing to do with Bond, absolutely lousy.
Connery is the best.
But Brosnan had it all too.
Dalton and Craig were both good in a more sober approach, but Dalton is more character accurate.
Moore is like a parody.
Lazenby just wasn't much of anything.
Moore is not a parody. David Niven was the parody James Bond.
@@danielsiljeholm Agreed Moore was not a parody… otherwise he would do the most 007 films ever
#1 Roger Moore
#2 Pierce Brosnan
#3 George Lazenby
I never liked the gritty, dark Bond.
Craig is overrated
Craig was what we needed in given times, but eventually became the reflection of the crazy times we live in. Not his fault. But it is everywhere. Agendas and scripts changed to not hurt anyone’s feelings. I had a Boss once that said, “if you’re not p*ssing someone off whilst doing your job, it’s not progressing.“
All Craig did was pout with his stone-face. 🤣🤣🤣
@@DrReelTV Nah... The producers wanted to keep up with what the Bourne series was doing. They should have continued with Brosnan. That formula was working very well. Or, do you think the more vicious Bond is what we needed post 9.11?
@@cjewe1z Dead Right
@@cjewe1z Brosnan was excellent
